Welcome to our channel. We are Sherri and John, military veterans, empty nesters and part-time adventurers. In October of 2020 we decided to purchase our first RV, a 2021 Fleetwood Bounder. We were so nervous and excited. Follow us on our journey as this retired Marine and Navy vet learn how to navigate RVing.
We'll share with you what we've learned as RV newbies starting with the RV buying process, to shopping for our RV, to dealing with repairs, to camping in the great outdoors.
Looking for an RV? We travel to RV shows to get first hand information and provide RV reviews. We'll tell you the good and the bad of the models we tour. We also let you know about the build quality of each RV we review.
The RV lifestyle has been so exciting. Join our community and let your adventure begin!
Great video !!!! During Covid, most manufacturers and dealers treated their customers like trash with price gouging and terrible service. Customer service is horrific, I had a bad experience with RV 1 in Sarasota and LaMesa in Port St Lucie, Florida. Now the tables are turning. That's why I'm gonna wait a bit longer to buy my new RV. Same thing is happening to the automobile industry. This is Karma to the RV industry. Thank you for sharing.
I would like to upgrade our pull trailer to a motor home. I was looking at the one known for it's fit and finish. Winnebago has purchased it. You hit the nail on the head. I'll stick with our older pull trailer. They are not just cheaply made . They are dangerous to be on the road. Frame breakage is at an all-time high. It is not Frame Flex as RV INDUSTRY claims. I refuse to subject our family or anyone else on the road to the RVS made from Greed.
Thank you! Biggest thing is to trust your inner self! Also lock those doors! I even lock the doors to my car at gas stations near my home. Rippers are everywhere.
I am a new subscriber .. this was my first video to watch on your channel .. absolutely Great !!! information and tips for travel and at home safety. 👍🏾 !!! Be careful, stay safe, and may God bless you as you enjoy RV living 🙏🏾
WHY do people drive or stop at night? I just don't. I get started early and get to my destination early. Traveling after dark is just dangerous for so many reasons. I also keep weapons in and on my RV. We are always careful. And if it doesn't feel right, LEAVE. That's the only time I'd move at night. These tips are good, but definitely be careful with the Bear spray, as others have said. It can turn on ya. And please, have cameras and let others know where you are at all times.
You know, I was a single OTR Truck Driver for 5 years. No protection, transporting to 48 states and Canada, never had a problem back then 15 years ago. It’s ashamed of what this country has gone too heck in a hand basket 😮!
The Sprinter Van is Superior to anything out there and there are plenty of self build videos on YT that will do a superior job !! Save your money for better things in life !!
Solution is to start your own companies and do it right and that will wash the sloppy greed down their toilet !! NO !! The other option is to build them right !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully they will continue to decline !! until the lazy greedy bastards learn how to build them right !!! Awful sloppy ass work in this industry !! buy used and DO NOT OVERPAY !!
RV industry has a major difference vs cars. Cars warranty all of the supplier issues, RV’s do not. That alone would drive more accountability and more effort in providing an high quality product. This industry is like the supplier industry, they don’t pay for the best in salary or in unskilled labor, most like poor training processes so people learn on their own, experience is lost and that craftsmanship is lost. I’m not surprised the powertrain is good, it’s from the automotive industry.
Thank you for sharing this important information. Sometimes we get a little too comfortable and forget it’s still a crazy world out here when we’re not in our safe place.
Do you know what I really like about people like you I like the fact that you show your stupidity if I was a state district attorney and you were telling me you were using illegal things to take care of a perpetrator might as well sign your own warrant because you'll be going to prison for very long time if you know something maybe illegal don't display it out on the internet it shows your intent
Great video! Thanks for sharing tips to keep everyone safe.. We Always shut windows and lock Both locks and of coarse we Both have CCW's. I Always trust my Gut (Kerin) even around some people...Energy never lies...
I am a 70 year old woman and I will be travelling by car on a 10 hour trip before stops with my 20 year old son. Normally there’s usually a group of about four adults travelling together so I am not concerned because we are always very alert as a group. He has some serious brain and spinal health issues that makes it dangerous for him to engage in physical altercations. He is also not so cautious of his surroundings as I would like for him to be. I don’t like the idea of him going into rest rooms alone, I think that I am going to order some pepper spray for him to protect himself with. That will at least give him the opportunity to get away from danger. I want him to be aware of his surroundings but I don’t want to scare him. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this topic. ❤
Truck driver here and brand new blankliners have sketchy interiors. I was saying that as much as these trucks cost, they should get at least the same quality as their MB cars. MB buyers would not tolerate that level of interior quality in the MB Blankliners!!
You gave some good advice, could save a life. For non lethal that's more effective than pepper spray, without the legal issues and mess bear spray can cause, I carry cans of Wasp & Hornet Spray. Aim for the eyes and it will stop both 2 legged and 4 legged threats in their tracks. I've also invested in some very loud mini bicycle alarms that sense motion. Can be discreetly attached to RV doors or camping gear around my campsite. When they move, I know, so does everyone else in the area. They are why I still have my remote solar panels. Also have some small personal alarms that have a belt clip, and a trigger pin attached to a thin strap. Pull the pin and things get really loud, won't stop till pin is put back into it's small hole or battery dies. I wear one of these when at Rest Stops, Gas Stations, often around campsite. When sleeping I can also have them discreetly strapped to doors and windows. making sure no one gets in without my knowing. And I sleep With my lethal options, so anyone who dares to enter may be ending their criminal career. Better judged by 12, than carried by 6. I choose to be the survivor, not a statistic.
@@AmpedtoGlamp Experience is a great teacher. I was awaken once by a combination of noise and motion while stealth camping. Seems some guys were trying to jack up my bus (shuttle conversion that still outwardly looks like a bus) take my wheels/tires. I was armed, they fled. Still have the tools they left behind. Things could have ended very differently if I was not armed. And things have only gotten worse across our country since that time. We are the only ones who can truly protect ourselves, each other. And we must to maintain our way of life.
The information you shared was helpful, but unfortunately, the RV industry is known for its subpar quality and lack of good customer service. I mean, no offense. Do you ever let your husband speak?
Glad you found the info useful. I've got thick skin so it will take more than a question to get me upset. I'm actually supporting my husband. He doesn't like to speak much in these kinds of videos. And that's ok. The market reports are more of my thing. RV tours are his thing. We're a good team!
I am new to the game of RVing and I was told to never buy a new RV because I will get more bang for the buck if the original owner took the depreciation hit. But I was offered a new 2023 Thor Challenger 36FA (800 miles) for $130,000 (MSRP $257,000). It doesn't have the leatherette seat covering but that's ok. It sounds like a good deal to me. What do you think? Thanks
I recommend staying away from Thor and anything built after 2019. Check out our RVs are trash video to learn why. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7livwtr7e3s.htmlsi=4vtHsYTJOHaPLpto
The problem with those sprays is that you will be affected too. Berna guns is a great less lethal option. Also learning self defense like jiujitsu will help you get away and run if you are grabbed. Screaming also helps. Get peoples attention to what’s happening.
