Abbey Lee is fantastic in this scene, she seems hard, bitter, broken and yet vulnerable at the same time, she literally transforms this scene with her prescence

I have trouble believing any of this would have been happening when she was pregnant. At that time, she was not the empress. She wasn't in charge of anything and wasn't even taken care of during her births and afterwards. She was allowed to lie in the messy sheets/bed with no care or concern for her as the newborn was taken away and fawned over. She almost died after giving birth on at least one occasion from this total disregard and lack of care.
oh.. come on.. like guys are not turned on by virgins because of their innocence and lack of sexual experience.. all guys do. those who say no are either lying or gay.
2:58 she fixates on the middle triangle representing her while the other 3 triangles (the 3 other girls) surround her she fell into their trap. Spoilers* they are witches who convince her that only beauty matters and nothing else is important. They turn her into a narcissist using visual cues as magic and they did just that, she fixates on herself, the middle triangle, and the mirror effect of kissing herself makes her fall in love with not who she truly is but her beauty. Mirrors don’t show what kind of person you are just what you are and she fell right into their trap. This scene tells such a story in only a few minutes and the theme of the movie is shown the most in this scene. Truly beautiful Refn this is a masterpiece.
I had Netflix on mail order when I first discovered Elle fanning. Phoebe in wonderland changed me! She’s brilliant. I hope Hollywood didn’t do her dirty like all the others.
