Just a guy having fun with his 3 sons and some fun cars. A little drag racing at the nearest dragstip (Thunder Valley Dragways in South Dakota). More video, info on my cars, etc. on my Instagram feed. Not much RU-vid content...yet! Thanks for visiting!
you guys never heard of the quarter million dollar street race? back in the late 60s I believe, nyc sk speed had a hemi dart, after the first pass at hamptom or Long Island speedway not sure, it was sold right on the spot for 17k to street racers, google the story its amazing,
The car is stored in a climate controlled garage 24/7. Obviously when we take it out for a drive… it has to go outside. Car sat outside for maybe 5 minutes for the purpose of this video and it didn’t melt. 😂
I remember this car! Back in 2017 when I was in college I saw your son driving this and following you in your F8 Green Demon! First Demon I ever saw and first LO23 too. I gotta get to know you guys because I live in Sioux Falls now and spend a ton of time at TV with Rod Neugebauer and the other Mopar guys! lol
You must be mistaken about the driver. I'm the only one who drives this car (all of my boys are too terrified to take this car down the dragstrip, and I wouldn't let them, plus this car isn't street legal so it's only driven at the track). Unless you saw us briefly move them from the trailer to the event (car show or dragstrip). But other than that- sounds good! Come up and chat with any of us sometime!
@DakotaGT sounds good! I think I have a video of that moment, I'll have to see if I can find it. You'll have to let me know when you head to the next event in TV or around Sioux Falls somehow!
Dig those Hemi cars and esp that hood. Stang was also a good looking hard runner, too. Real car guys can appreciate any brand. The "my team only" sounds like a 8 yr old arguing
I love that you got this car! I really appreciate how much you share your cars with the local community, just by driving them. Always enjoy looking at your cars at shows.
I love the Superstock Darts and Barracudas!!!❤ Please check out my 1968 Barracuda fastback powered by a rowdy 512 stroker backed by an A833 4 speed manual. I think you'll approve. 👌
These Darts ..& the Plymouth Barracuda of same setup..had magnesium crossram equipped, race spec Hemis. Not the regular 490hp street hemi..but 600+hp. Yaa, the street Hemi was listed at 425 hp..which was accurate..at 5200 rpm, but they made pwr to 6100..the 490 number, give or take, depending on fuel, tune, atmospheric condiitons. The Dart & Barracudas ran 10's regularly and could dip into the 9's! Stock!
Probably the worst engine design in automotive history. Only a builder of tractors would combine the same lubricant together with the engine and transaxle. The engines in those days generally used 30 wt, and transaxle used 90 wt gear oil. What an engineering nightmare. Lamborghini used this in the P400 and P400S, and separated the two with the introduction of the P400SV only. If looking to purchase, only go with the P400SV.
Actually, virtually all of these engines have been rebuilt at this point, and most people have gone with the split-sump design of the SV engines during the rebuild. It isn't too difficult to do. Mine has that upgrade. In general, I MUCH prefer the earlier P400 (which is by far the lightest of the three iterations), and the S. Many people don't care as much for the "muscle car" look that the later SV evolved into, with the wider rear tires, not to mention the loss of the iconic headlight "eyelashes". These are sports cars, not muscle cars. But I digress...
