@carlosaguilar316 Cylinders 2 4 6 are all on the same bank of the engine. Start with the basics check spark on at least one of those Cylinders,then check injector pulse on one. If you have injector pulse and spark check compression on one of those cylinders next. My fear is it could be a timing chain issuse with that bank. But again check the basics first.

Stall convertor spec ?/ diff gear ?/ tire diameter ? / would u change any of these .??
@diyracing3049
@diyracing3049 Месяц назад
@paulthompson1654 So I've tried 3 converters. I had the cheap Summit 3000 stall from my old combo. It worked okay but was tight. Then i tried the Jegs 3800-4100 XHD stall and it was way loose would flash 4800rpm 3000rpm to go threw an intersection. Then I swapped to the 555-60430 Jegs XHD 3200-3500 it flashes 3600-3800. Drives around great! Flashes about perfect. The gear is 3.73 and 26 in tire. I think I'll end up putting a 3.42 gear in it at some point because I like cruise 65mph and it's annoying right now with a 3.73. The engine makes enough power I doubt it we loose much ET at the track. Hopefully sooner or later I'll get some track times.

@paulthompson1654 Vacumn I've never checked. I run power brakes and they work great. It's the modern dual diaphram brake booster. Idle is 800/850. With the AC on its 950rpm. I use a solenoid to bump up the idle. (still needs some adjustments)

All manual transmissions are weaker as the 1st gear ratio gets lower. The input gear is smaller. If you want a higher rear ratio dont want to go overdrive tranny then they are a good compromise. Not a off the line tranny but great street and freeway driver.

How does more fuel get administered to the engine? Does the pressure from the turbo naturally pull more fuel from the carburetor or is there tuning or something involved
@kennyp324
@kennyp324 3 месяца назад
The nightwrencher has a video on this, from what I have learned a carburetor needs around 6 pounds of fuel pressure, for each psi of air from your turbo you need to have a fuel pump capable of reaching the total Psi, so if you wanted to run 10 psi of boost, you would need a fuel pump capable of at least 16 Psi (6+10) the regulator he used has a vaccum line that tells the regulator to ramp up the fuel pressure so that the air pressure inside the carburetor doesn’t push the fuel back into the line and have a lean condition. So under boost, the regulator will supply the correct amount of fuel into the engine. His video explains this better than me, but that’s a rough breakdown

HVH 4500 to 4150 4-hole tapered spacer. Dominator 2 circuit carb +4 mpg. 🙂3500 stall 3.90 gears. Note PRW has higher ratio off the seat in it's arc and is around 1.8 off the seat exaggerating valve opening ramp rate on a good ramp rate street roller cam. 5.85" stroker rods. 1.260" piston 3cc softened dome. @zAvAvAz
@zAvAvAz 5 месяцев назад
Yes if it slams the seat, it is virtually lapping itself constantly? hahah. I am not sure, i believe the rocker i have selected after advice form david vizard lays it smoother on the seat because the lift is less versus duration. However i am have not done the math at all, only hoping. lol So it is something to think about. i am going to find a particular rocker for the exhaust as well. at less ratio of 1.6 advertised overall ratio. May have more opening also and less closing.@@diyracing3049

When do the valves start carboning up? Daughter has a 2016 Traverse. She had someone change the purge valve and spark plugs because of a check eng light and bad fuel mileage. Since getting it back, it has a rough idle at full operating temp, check eng light flashes when you try and accelerate onto a highway and the car chucks and bucks when this happens. I quickly looked at it today and found 1 spark plug that the porcelain is split and 2 others with very faint hairline cracks in the porcelain. Pulled codes and came up with P0300. I would like to help her out... Should i look at removing intake and having a look at the valves? Car only has 136K (kms, not miles) we are in Canada So im guessing 80K-90K miles on it? Im thinking of redoing all 6 plugs aswell. Who knows if she got scammed and all the plugs were even chnged or not... It was a back yard mechanic, friend of a friend deal... Thanks for any help!
