It worked on the first try! $30 well spent. Honestly this was a lifesaver. I tried everything apple suggested like restarting my phone and computer, using another usb cord or even another computer.

Oh my god I just had one of the most stressful days of my recent memory trying to save hundreds of contacts, photos and chats. These instructions should work for the iPad 6th generation also. If you don't see these settings options from the video, what version of iOS is on the iPad?

Thanks for the question! ;-) The only way to recover deleted WhatsApp messages is if you backed up your iPhone on your computer before you deleted them. I learned in the worst possible way that Apple "just works" until it doesn't work at all. Apple left me hopeless with a corrupt backup giving no option to repair it, and this little program saved me. You guys rock!
Scam!!! They say there is a FREE trial but after you go through several hours of processing time to get your files it then has a pop-up window that wants you to pay $50 a month to get your information that was supposed to be free! Complete scam!

If you go into Settings > Your Name (the iCloud settings), is there a Family Sharing section? If yes, tap it. Are you listed as a parent/organizer, or a different account? If this iCloud account is on Family Sharing then one of the parent/organizer accounts can reset the passcode, as described starting around 48 seconds into this video.

I want to down load my FB messages and once done I want to only save one persons chat (I have many many chats). I have 5 zip files I will need to download to my computer. I do not understand how to pick only one persons chat to save as a PDF file. I do not need to save them all to a PDF file. Please explain.
Once the FB download is read in to Decipher Messenger Export, the program will help you make PDFs of individual chats. You select which conversations you want to make a PDF of within Decipher Messenger Export. If Facebook provided you with multiple zip files of your data download, you need to import all of the zip files into Decipher Messenger Export. To do this you can select one of the zip files if it appears in the list in the program. Or, you can select the files manually: "control + click" on Windows or "command + click" on Mac to select multiple zip files at one when importing the data into Decipher Messenger Export. You'll then see your Facebook contacts appear in the program and can choose to export any contact's messages as a PDF. What version of iOS is running on the iPhone/iPad that you're trying on? Do you have an idea of how long ago the screen time pin was set (not exact time, but "several years" vs "a few years"... so we can estimate how old of an iOS version set it?)

It's been more than 12 hours since I asked FB for the download.... and that after 6 hours before. I made sure to limit it to messages only and standard compression. Any thoughts? Really want to try you program as it seems to be exactly what I need.
Hi Jeff, You could go directly to the download page accountscenter.facebook.com/info_and_permissions/dyi/?entry_point=download_your_information and see if the request is still pending or if it is ready for download, just in case the notification didn't work but the data is in fact ready. The time it takes Facebook/Meta to process the request depends on the size of the data zip files they need to produce for you, current queue times if they have a lot of requests, etc. We've seen it take a little longer for large data requests lately, but 18 hours is pretty darn long and not what I would expect. I would go to the data request page and see if it still says pending.
The present trial program doesn't match the video. It wants me to manually download messages from FB... which is the problem to start with as they limit it to 1 year back and it barely works. Do you have the program that matches the video?

@@DecipherTools thank you. I had been having a problem with the facebook download tool, which is why I sought your company out. On my desktop, both chrome and Edge would go through the process, but then get a "page not found" once I went to start the download. On my iPhone I was able to successfully start the download, including the right date range, but it's been over 40 minutes and still no notification it is done. I did get a message it was started. I thought it was only supposed to take a few minutes? In any case, as soon as I get the file, I will try your program out. Looks like just what I need

Does this pull all the messages that are saved in the cloud for a single conversation? When I scroll in the messages app, it loads messages from the cloud into my phone. And I want to save every single message from the past 6months from one contact.

We think it's important to advise that if you are headed to court involving a case larger than small claims court, please hire an experienced company to extract your messages. Decipher tools is a great little program for personal use, but if it cannot provide hash values for authentication, how would a court know if you extracted all of the content properly and entirely? Decipher is a great tool and we would use it for personal use OR....for a lawsuit in small claims court. Seek help if you have a serious case in court. Hope this helps 🏛👍

Yes. When you save your iPhone text messages to your computer as a PDF, you can then open the exported PDF in any PDF viewer you like including Acrobat. You can then print your iPhone text messages on your PC or Mac.
The "Backups loaded" dialogue to "ignore" has been loading for about an hour now... how long does it take and I can't ignore it because the other windows won't open and the program won't launch. It took me a good 2 hours to backup on itunes too.

what a blessing, this initially took me 4 tries (normal > advanced > advanced > normal) I recommend anyone failing after multiple attempts to delete the initial Decipher as shown @3:54 (which you probably did before paying the $30 USD), reload iTunes and scan the initial file AGAIN. I can't say I got everything back but a solid 90-95% of my corrupt backup was restored! so I'd say that alone justifies and is worth the $47 AUD I paid from my Country. this video is 9 years old but I used this in 06/01/24 and it worked for me, I hope this can save you from the gut wrenching feeling I also experienced. Thank you Kelly and your team, this service saved me from a hell of a lot of stress and grief.
I had to pay twenty bucks, but there simply isn't another solution but this. Downloading facebook data through html and then exporting it as pdf using Google Chrome won't cut it since html shows all the messages in reverse (latest at the top and oldest at the bottom). Using Decipher Messenger is the only way available to get all the messages in pdf and formatted properly.

I have WhatsApp business and standard WhatsApp on my iPhone, each within its own number. Decipher chat seems to pickup WhatsApp business only. I tried multiple times, but it would only pick up on WhatsApp business.

i had a backup for an iphone 5 on ios 8.4.1 which also held photos from my childhood on prior ipods. anytime id try restoring it to a new device (long after the iphone was gone) it would ask for a device on ios 8.4.1. 8 years later i decided to snag an iphone 5 running ios 8.4.1 and attempted to get those photos back. this particular backup has made its way from many windows reimages, hard drives, and separate computers over the years, mightve lead to the reason why i am here. well, i went to restore the backup dated 2015 and it came back corrupted. i wasnt too surprised though disappointed. i did a quick search and found this video. fuck it lets give it a try welp, it worked. its a blast from the past for sure, i havent seen these photos in nearly a decade. lot of childhood cringe for sure but im glad to see them. something here isnt perfect though, the iphone runs absolutely terrible when connected to a network but offline i can now properly save the data i would like to keep. i am not one for sending money to recipients that i am unfamiliar with; this really sketched me out i will not lie. but it seems legit and it did work.
