Thank you so much! My daughter's coach keeps telling her that she is swinging too much on her passes and I couldn't find a video that addresses this specifically. This is a masterclass for me, a non vb player yo try to help her improve at home. ❤️❤️ I'm very grateful you are sharing your coaching!
Do you have any advice on attack timing? I'm having trouble when it comes to knowing when to start my approach and i find I'm often too early so i end up under the ball, but if i delay a little then I'm too late. Any tips would be appreciated.
If you're using a 3 step approach, your first step happens just as the ball leaves to setters hand. The next thing to look for is the ball rounding the top of its rainbow. just before it comes down toward you, is when you do the 2 step plant and jump up to it. Make sure to pause on the first step if it's a high set because if you cruise right through it,you'll end up being early even when start on time.
I've been coaching at the college level for close to 25 years, now I'm starting to coach my 10 year old daughter and her friends, this was unbelievably helpful, can't thank you enough.
This is such an amazing video!! I mostly coach varsity, but am helping with younger players and the breakdown will definitely help me with the learning process. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for your videos, they are truly amazing. I've noticed that you usually use two balls for drills. When a player learns, it's better to go down to one ball first. This is because the brain cannot process that much information before a new skill is imprinted.
Hi there! That’s a interesting point you mentioned so you think the key to having a deadly float is to hit the ball during that sweet spot (sweet spot being right when the ball hits its apex right when it’s done going up and right before it starts to fall?
I'm a guy and i think guys don't learn how to snap because we usually jump high enough to just hit downwards, i really find this video useful beacuse i didn't learned no snap until recently and it has definitely changed the angles on my spikes, and snapping really make your hits more deceiving. Thanks for the video !!!!
Amazing instructions. I am taking note of all these videos and using them when my daughter and I go to the gym to get reps in. Keep up the amazing work.
First of all, these are some of the best, and most amazing videos I have found. Your methods of teaching, the cues, and meticulous instruction is top notch. Question: with respect to moving feet during #5, what are some good drills to help with "fast feet" if you would. This is my 14yr olds challenge. TIA
Hello Addie, I'd love to learn how you teach roll shots. Your instruction is clear, intentional, and full of unique, critical details that have improved my ability to play and to coach. Many of your longer videos I've watched multiple times, learning something new each time. Whatever your next topics are, I look forward to seeing it!
Hey Addie! I was wondering if you could possibly do a video especially for liberos/aspiring liberos because I really would like to train to be a good libero… I just don’t know how. If yes, could you like possibly include solo drills/warm ups (or something you can just do on your own during your free days to get in practice) that help enhance your abilities/reflexes as a libero? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. Edit: I’m not sure if you are going to see this edit, but (if you make the video) could you also include stuff you can do by yourself, inside (on like rainy days) to practice? Thank you! (Again)
Wow. Great coaching. I like the sound gap. I've never thought about using sound to help with timing. Genius!!! Thanks for the info. I need to do exercises to work on explosiveness as well.
I wonder if you play beach volleyball? Many indoor players switched to beach volleyball. Will you do any beach volleyball content in the future? Just wondering
Amazing video! Keep up the great work your formatting and informational content is making this 30 year old middle blocker a better coach and a better player !
Hi Addie! Your volleyball videos are very useful and informational, and I loved watching them as a volleyball coach as well. I still remember you played as a libero and middle blocker back when you are still playing in college and professionally. To be honest with you, I really think you can be a great outside hitter since you have the height, length, and athleticism. You still have a great physique that is perfect for the sport of volleyball. I wonder if you still play at a local or semi-pro volleyball league nowadays? Maybe you can do a video on that as well. It will be nice to see you back on court playing. Keep up the good work, Addie!
