This is by far the best speedrun tutorial I've ever seen. Showing a WR run while trying to explain what's going on (*cough* *cough* Eli) just doesn't translate for casual players who are wanting to learn speedrunning or are going after the achievements. Thanks for showing everything multiple times and providing alternate strats for avoiding softlocks or difficult tricks that are minor time saves. Subbed and will definitely be referencing these in the future!
Easily the best guide for this trick. Every other one was not nearly as descriptive and informative. Literally got this first try after watching, after 30+ tries with other guides.
Don't know how to break this to you, but stuff like this is in many speedruns, including the other Halo games. This is any% afterall and it's not against the rules. If you don't want glitches and skips (which still require a lot of practice most of the time), then consider looking at the Glitchless categories for games. You'll get what you want there.
Those sentinels at the beginning are only keeping the covenant back because they know this man is gonna be in and out in 10 minutes or less guaranteed.
An easier way to do this. Just before you hit the ledge, jet pack off; don’t jump. You then want to look down and to your left so you can watch the pillar hit you. You want the top corner to hit you; not the top and not the side. When you hit the first wall while flying start jet packing till you hit the second wall, then slowly jetpack towards the platform; don’t burn all your fuel.
