Is it too late to start weightlifting if you're healthy, no extensive injury history, decent mobility, past experience with compound lifts, and in your sixties?
Incorrect form. Hips should not drop, no arching of back, core tight, press up must be clean, head in a neutral position during press up. The list goes on... IronWolf will teach you proper Burpees!
Same here. 77 now been doing CrossFit for 7 years, do regular classes, just scale to suit your ability. Good explanation, did CF L1 at 72 and passed 1st time. All good. “DO NOT BE AFRAID!” You can do this. Walk in the door??
I'm 65 and have looked into Crossfit (well, at least online) and see that it's quite expensive. Around $220 a month. And so I do my 5 days a week workouts in the basement. One of my challenges is 50 pushups and 50 pullups (not chinups) in 5 minutes. So far I'm at the 50 pushups, but only 20 chinups.
I checked the prices in our city and they have several gyms here ranging in price from $130 - $200 a month. Check out the RU-vid channel of IZZY BARISH as he has been working out in his basement gym since 1979 and he is now 70. Another one is ZenKahuna Reloaded as he does his workout outside. He is 72.
So glad you're coming home. I know it was a hard decision. But you are wise to listen to your heart. Trust me on that. I'm really glad the path is leading you back to your first loves. XOXO
