My name is Caitlin and I run the blog called "Mrs. Midwest." I joined RU-vid in 2019 with the goal of creating a haven for traditionally feminine women trying to find their place in this modern world. Being a traditional homemaker and wife myself, it is my aim to help women blossom into their natural femininity through discussions on style, mindset, and relationships.
Our community of #femininewomen is open to women of all walks of life, yet we are ultimately here to amplify the voice of traditionally feminine women and their respective lifestyles. We explore topics relating to elegance, femininity, traditional relationships, and homemaking, with a little bit of my "real" life thrown in.
I am open to partnerships if the shoe fits, but my main goal for this channel will always be to help women blossom into their best, most feminine selves!
I've been watching you since I quit my jobs to be a stay at home wife after my husband and I got saved and married in 2018. Now we live in a more expensive state than before and have more kids. I could probably be in a hot kitchen all day hating my life because I like to cook but 24/7 cooking isn't me. So I do delivery driving when I can. Through apps where you can work anytime if you feel like it. It's awesome. It helped me buy some of my homeschool curriculum this year and just let's us have a little more freedom financially (as a couple)... for so long I didn't get a job because "I just should learn to sew my own clothes and cook every loaf of bread from scratch" but that stuff takes trial and error and when you don't have someone you're watching do it regularly the learning process isn't that fast and you can end up wasting time and money . God has a plan for me even if I don't fully fit the role I tend toward. I am a normal stay at home mom. :)
We don’t always have the same opinions however , I think you are so smart, well spoken, and honest. I’ve been watching your content for years because I genuinely love your view on life. We may choose to live differently sometimes but I feel you have impacted me and evolved my own opinions for the better. I will always sit down and listen to what you are sharing because your heart is there as a woman supporting other women ❤
Caitlyn, you call gen z "babies". You noted you'll be 30 in April. So you are a very late Millenial. The oldest part of Gen Z are born in 1997, so they aren't that much younger than you. Though most of Gen Z may be "babies", not all gen z, even from your vantage point could be called "Babies". So I'd just in beng careful in how you speak about Gen Z.
Thank you, for this. I have always watched your videos even if we are not 100% similar in our journeys. After 20 years of marriage, I am now a single Mom. And I'm a SAHM in the summer when I'm off from my full-time teaching job. I feel grateful. And even though my situation may look different than others, I still am a homemaker seasonally. And I love it. ❤
You look great! Although I've noticed a change in the brows and... lip filler? I mean this totally respectfully but I think how you used to shape your eyebrows framed your face better
Divorced at 28 after I got married at 21. I have lived this. Ended up having to start completely over and it has changed everything for me. My country is also not financially eell off so finding a job was nigh impossible. Would never ever recommend to someone else what I did. When we got married, he got baptised, we prayed together etc and by the end of it he wanted an open marriage, no children and I just was not attractive to him anymore either. Be smart.
As a woman who is your age, but single, this is a good message. Jesus is the prescription for happiness. Even though I dream I could stay at home with kids, but I'm my whole household. I have to feed myself.

This is why you are my favorite RU-vidr in the feminine space.😊 This video is so balanced and educative. I was really into femininity content in 2019/2020 but there was a shift in the content since then and it became so extreme that I could no longer relate to it. I desire to be a homemaker much later in the future and your videos have really helped me get there. Caitlin your voice is so necessary in this space. You bring balance and wisdom. I notice a lot of said content never speaks to practical tips like how to get grass stains out. How to get rid of dust for people with allergies. How to clean fridge coils. Also if you are cleaning a toilet in make up and heels that is digusting. Bacteria is getting on your skin and into the make up. Part of being a woman is getting dressed up for sure. But its not appropriate for most of her work in the house. I can tell when a woman cleans her own house or not. You can tell.

This video is so well thought out and eloquent. I work part time and spend the rest of the time with my 2 year old son - and that works for me and my family. Some of the topics you raised are what affect me and what I’ve been thinking too. My husband is like yours - generous and he wants to support me and give me everything I want/need. Yet at times I feel guilty for not bringing in more financially (even though full time work salary would be wiped out by childcare) so that’s something I need to work on. Also I need to work on community. Personally I am not religious, so don’t have that community that church brings. I do find outside of religion building that community feels really hard Love the videos and particularly this format. Have you thought about podcasting?
Just my two cents - You would totally be hired for a job and you have so many amazing presenting and storytelling skills!! Just saying :). But I love the point that working women (myself included) have a gap on our resume with our kids and being present with them!!
Love that you mention cost of living - I live in the Bay Area and the cost is SOOO high here that although my income and my husbands income looks high on paper, when you do the math on cost of living we feel like we are living in a veryyy low income area heh. Also my husband decided to create is own company a couple years ago so took a huge paycut to do that and go after his dreams, but I believe in him and want to see him succeed so therefore for the next couple years I am provider more since I currently earn more. its not the situation I want to be in, but I want to support him in the long term when I know he will eventually fully provide for me. But it takes trust!!! and faith in him :)
Caitlin I've always appreciated how intelligent and articulate you are! Even though I am not a "homemaker" I really relate to living a feminine life as a source of happiness, but sometimes the extreme homemaking community can really close other women off to opening their minds to a more feminine lifestyle.
Ok I love this video and all that you're saying. My boyfriend and I are some months away from getting engaged and although we've discussed how I desire to be a stay at home wife/mother and homemaker and he agrees that this is something he's prepping for with his career....I think it's important to talk about logistics and such before there is a ring on my finger. I wouldn't want either of us committing to something without a full understanding and result in us being miserable in the beginnings of our marriage while we figure it out. All that being said, the reason I decided to comment is because I immediately recognized your Aldi sparkling ice and it's like my favorite drink in the world!! LOL every time my boyfriend and I go grocery shopping I grab one or two or three and add it to the cart. He doesn't even question it anymore. Even brings me some home as a gift. I thought that was fun!
Loved this, also I studied Political Science and while studying Social Mobility (how income moves generationally) you are ABSOLUTELY right about the whole going to collage means you are more likely to marry a college graduate, so it is good advice. Also a STHW (soon to be mom ❤) and this was very useful. I’ll be waiting for your part 2
Caitlin, I am so proud of you for using your voice and your platform to raise awareness for the safety and protection of women. I have been watching your videos for a few years now (wow) and each time I am more impressed with the woman you are becoming. You’ve shown incredible growth and development from when you were starting your content. Keep it up girl.
