We should be focusing on a Citizen Science though i think.
this song is usually completely lost in the OHMSS soundtrack, having so many great tracks. But I got a really soft spot for this, lol. Melody was always JB's strong suit.
A fantastic post! Thanks for sharing! After 25 (technically 27) Bond films, OHMSS remains my favorite Bond film. It certainly is John Barry's best Bond score, and this lovely song, and how it's used in the film, is definitely an excellent example of the many important facets of the score. The video is excellent too; great job.
Such a strong emotional song. I can relate to the lyrics for I had a similar situation a long time ago whereby my then partner walked out taking my two young daughters. When I eventually found them she was with another guy (the reason she left) but I remember my children saying " daddy we want to go home with you) That gave me the strength to fight with everything in my being so that they could be where they belonged.......in their own home and not where she selfishly want them to be!! It took 6month of pain but eventually she saw was that the grass wasn't any greener and came home. My two girls at now grow up with married with children so in the end it worked out (with a few ups and downs) Moral...if you truly love something or someone right like he'll for it!!!!!
This song came up on my playlist (as part of the OHMSS soundtrack) and is now completely stuck in my head. The combination of serious, melancholy -- and slightly whacky -- lyrics; the beautiful voices including the kids going out of tune on the first chorus. Great job mixing the OHMSS clips with a TV show appearance. I hadn't realized that Barry and David wrote this.
So many people talking out of their asses in here lol. First off, this wasn't for the album Let It Be, but the motion picture soundtrack, which included many songs not on the album. Secondly, Ringo was included in this grammy. Idk why he wasn't mentioned here, but he's listed as winning this grammy alongside the others.
