Director of Instruction The links at Stono Ferry. My channel helps golfers of all abilities increase their enjoyment of the game!
I’ve been a golf coach for 25 years. During that time I’ve given 28k lessons to every type of golfer you can imagine! I’ve also coached several PGA & LPGA Tour players. I’m here to share my knowledge with you!

No matter who I’m coaching, my philosophy remains the same. Help golfers discover the best version of themselves. Students have to build on their strengths, and identify the “cause” of their weaknesses in order to change the effect and get the desired result.

I’ll be regularly dropping my lessons into the channel. I’ll also be tackling faults and providing fixes from the tee to the green! I’m confident the content on my channel will help you accomplish your goals!

Great video. Would it be wrong to present the downswing in two parts. Part 1 is what you make happen. And Part 2 is what you let happen.

When you demonstrate “dumping the club early,” there is no rotation. With proper form early release has been advocated by some of the world’s most renowned golf instructors.

Feels v Reals. Transition spinning is destroying backs and golf swings everyday. Good intention with bad results for so many. The wrists, arms and of course body all play a vital role. What each golfer has to ‘feel’ in order to blend these parts harmoniously will of course vary for each golfer. But for most, the arms swing is lacking as is the correct wrist articulation. All spin (effort) with no speed is a common trait! This video is meant as a remedy for that particular swing affliction. Best, A. ⛳️🏌️‍♂️🙏🏻

@@AndrewEmeryGolf Well put, Andrew. I have a weathered copy of John Jacob’s “Practical Golf.” I recall reading “ Stand facing any good golfer and watch the space between the hands and right shoulder during the downswing. You will see that it widens like lightning.” Jim Flick wanted us to swing the left arm independently. My first lesson was from Homer Snead 50 yrs ago. He began by having me focusing on knees and hips. Today I think he did me no favor, as I put in countless hours neglecting the arms and hands. This is something I will have to dig out of the dirt to find a repeatable feel. Thank you for answering .

my right shoulder is psyco...it wants to start the swing by rushing down to the ball...it's so dominant that near the end of a round when I'm tired it will do it on some of my chips and even putts....so the question is, how do I start the downswing in such a manner that this doesn't happen...telling myself to hold the torso back as the downswing begins is much harder than one would think...

Great insight! It’s almost like working backwards to get the feel. Question: I seem to plateau once I move into my 6 & 5 iron, the ball speed and distance are tight. Is that due to equipment or me as the lower clubs give me the distance and height I’m looking for? I do feel like those clubs feel heavier thus not as easy to swing through like my 8 iron. Thanks!

If you can’t hit a 5 iron 175 yards and hold the ball to a middle pin position it shouldn’t be in your bag! Replace 5i, 4i with hybrids if you don’t have them already. It will transform your long iron play. Best, Coach A. 🏌️‍♂️⛳️🙏🏻

I have recently discovered your videos and appreciate the unique perspective that you bring to golf instruction. I believe that I need to incorporate this feeling of moving my left arm indecently of my torso's rotation both through transition and impact.Presently I have about 6 degrees of shaft lean at impact and would like a little more. I have always understood that the hands should exit left post impact. Is this the case if one incorporates slinging the arms through impact, provided that the body rotates well through impact as well? Re transition, would it be fair to say as one recenters at the top of the backswing and then moves pressure forward at the start of the downswing, one almost feels a "surfing" feeling? During this short moment in time the back and pelvis remain turned to the target and the arms drop simply due to gravity with no intentional speed added to the arms during the "surf"? Once the arms reach delivery this is when speed is added to the arms and they are slung through impact as a result of the front leg pressing hard into the ground? Thanking you in advance for your response and I am looking forward to your upcoming videos.
@AndrewEmeryGolf
@AndrewEmeryGolf 4 дня назад
Yes to questions 1 & 2 and, No, to question 3. You need to feel speed with your arms earlier in the transition. Peak arms speed is just below P6 at which point we ‘brake’ the lead leg and lead arm to create angular momentum. Remember creating speed is as much about deceleration as it is acceleration! @AndrewEmeryGolf
@AndrewEmeryGolf 4 дня назад
It’s highly likely that you need to get the trail hip and shoulder more behind you at the top! That’s the big challenge for most who feel like they can’t keep their back to the target as they change direction. I would say the vast majority of my students don’t pivot well in the backswing! People automatically line up with the club centered behind the ball. Your dynamic swing in my case has the club moving slightly away at bottom of swing. I now start with club a ball width inside target line and slightly back. Now I don't feel like I am trying to hit ball and just letting swing flow. Has anyone else noticed this?
