My channel shows my mountain biking exploits at the various venues I've been to after being badgered into taking up the sport properly by Mark Cooper back in 2016!
I caught the uplift/downhill bug first. Most of my content tries to be informative and show what an "Average Joe" rider can do with a big DH Rig! I bought a GT Fury with Fox 40s - 200mm travel front and back means that the nutty shit I did - the bike saved me every time! My skill level improved a lot to be fair. Still not great, but maybe a bit above average now?!😜
As of 2020 (i.e. Covid!) I got more into Enduro/XC type riding on my Bird Zero 29er hardtail, so content slowed dramatically. There isnt anything that interesting to show except the occasional vid how I get on doing downhill trails on it and some XC trail guides to great places like Surrey Hills.
Lastly, venue trail routes change, take care. If in doubt check the trails first, cos some changes could catch you out if you rely on any video (I know first hand!)
Did the blue 4 times on a day there this week . Newbie older rider (53) . Sketchy first run checking it out .far to much breaking. Off breaks and flowed more on the later runs . Love it . Mind the ride up was a killer after the 2nd go . Was a hot dry day . Looking forward to going back soon . Have to save up as parking not cheap £9 over 4 hours . Great video 👍
Enjoy your visit, cool place.. Don't think it's changed too much. A bit of work on the big jump stuff maybe, but apart from that, as you say, hopefully it is still a good representation 👌
I love drops but still getting to grips with jumps - I'm really tempted to give this one a go! Didn't realise you could just land short on the gaps and roll over the landings
@Yeet Yeet post lockdown riding skills rusty and two years older frankly! When being 60 years old is closer than when I turned 40, I figure it's time to knock the crazy shit on the head 😁 Red Course and Ridge Run are enough for a quick adrenaline burst now.. 🤣
Balboa.. Hit the road gap. Awesome trail. 👍 👍 I think Walleater has some big features on it too but it was in disrepair last visit, so i can't say for sure.. Good luck, don't break that bike any more 🤣
Good video thanks mate... looks like even the black routes are rollable if you don't mind a little untailored course! The wife'll be on my bouncer so I'm on the hardtail... eek!
Been over pitch hill loads with northern monkey but never holmbury, could I park where you parked and still do both of them in the same day easy enough? Trails here looks great
Great vids! I've been looking to purchase a Bird Zero 29er, but there are virtually no reviews on the internet. How are you finding it? I wanted to get one as a winter bike, but also as an all rounder "do it all" bike ranging from Surrey Hills to Welsh trail centres (Coed Y Brenin, Penmachno) and the odd trip to BPW.
Brilliant bike, best one I've ever bought. Got it for same reason you describe. I've thrown it down Aston Hill and pedalled my lungs out at Swinley.. It copes with everything (well within reason, won't be doing 50 shades on it any time soon 😅) Get one, you won't be disappointed.. 👍
Great video! Was there just a few weeks ago and it was still bone dry! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jmavY6P6h2w.html Incredible how is has changed
Thanks for the video - very watchable. Did you know you can take Mr Pink out the top corner of the Holmbury car park down towards BKB? It’s a bit on the rooty side, but you’re not on offer on that road and it’s a bit more fun.
I was there Saturday with a pal of mine..we didn't do the 2 black runs..on Holmbury we did do Mr pink and Jackie brown that starts from car park 1..also I should coco..there is some trail goodness on Holmbury hill...and thanks now I know where squirrels is.. And also a great edit 👌
Fair play to you riding a massive full DH rig on that bike park! Must have been hard work. I took my V10 and Fluid the first time I went and left the V10 in the van. The most you will ever need there is 120mm travel........ if that even, am taking the new hard tail there next week for a morning blasts after working my night shift🤟🤟🤟
Thanks for the vid mate, enjoyed it. If you’ve been to Rogate, how would you compare the two? I live a similar distance from both, all 3 if I include Swinley! Not done any but want to...
What no trees? There’s nothing for me to crash into....where’s the fun in that? Seriously though, it looks a nice park, I’ll get down there when later this year.
Nice vid gives me an insight to the trails at my local 👍🏻 I haven’t been yet or in-fact to any bike park. looking at that I’ll probably stick to ricochet and red run. Thanks for upload :)
Yep they're the two to start with and take it from there. When you're feeling ready, Surface to Air has chicken runs to make it just an advanced red run too.. Good luck, whenever the hell we're allowed back to ANY bike park 😭🤣I'm gonna be starting from scratch myself at this rate 👍
Average Joe yeah definitely when this lockdown is over I’ll be making my way to the park :) what bike you have? Hoping a Scott genius will be okay I know it’s mostly down to rider though
Oh - I was completely over-specced on a full DH rig! A GT Fury, covers up my "average-ness"!! The Genius will be spot on! Next visit I'm taking my aggressive hard tail and test my skills a bit more.. Cheers bud
look before you give it a try... I gave it a 3 or 4 looks, then efffed it up big time, everything still hurts 2 days later, very first run, having done drops bigger then this before... lessons learned and will be back to settle the score. Doesn't say "Q" for no reason as it turns out. Thanks for sharing this mate, looks like this drop hasn't been there for that long, not there on older vids, could show my mrs and friends what took me out.
