If Alex would have dressed like a clown, did heroine, and kicked the bucket at 30 he'd be the GOAT. Outside of the band he lived a normal life. No headlines.
I think a lot more ppl now like this amp now. It hasn’t reached cult classic level yet but that’s where it’s headed. Get one now if you can cause they’re only getting more and more expensive.
Had the JCM 900 - Hated it and I always will. I just scored an EVH 5150 Iconic which is 1,000x better. The JCM 900 sounds very shrill and doesn't have a good tube amp sound at all. Been playing for many years. I tried everything from a processor, to EQ in the loop, OD pedals, you name it....No matter what I did with the knobs, I couldn't get it to sound good at high volume. Heck, I even bought a REVV G3 distortion and tried it in channel A on clean and that didn't do it either. Mind you, it sounded great at low volume at my house, but at band practice, at higher volume it almost sounded almost like it was breaking up. TBH, the sound here you're getting isn't good either. Go listen to any of the EVH heads and tell me I am wrong LOL IMO The 900 is the WORST Marshall ever made. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XDyO8A2z6EA.html
You'd be surprised how many people don't know what the word "hysteria" means. Hysteria is a feeling of overwhelming and uncontrollable emotions. It's usually used in a bad way such as after being notified that a loved one has passed. But in this song he's talking about how in love he is.
Is there anything Geddy Lee can't do is playing guitars and Drums but he got Alex and Neill who covers those part pretty well. So he is fine with Just Playing bass guitar, Synth and singing !
Its a stand alone MASTERPIECE and way ahead of its time as far as the ideas, lyrics, social and political statements. I wore that cassette OUT in 1988. The other thing that I don't hear people say is, on side B, listen to how much louder and pronounced the BASS is. No metal/Hard rock band was doing that in those days...that gave it a groove that just added to an already superb sound.....it truly is a beautiful work of ear-ART.
Album number four drops June 28, 2024. They play on Jimmy Kimmel Live on the 27th! They're all grown up and killing it on stages all over the Western world and they just got back from their first shows in Japan, with Band Maid! This TEDx Talk was amazing. This was the close of it. Paulina "Pau" Villarreal Vélez was Drumeo's pick for 2023 Rock Drummer of the Year, and Modern Drummer Magazine's Up and Coming Drummer 2023. This June of 2024, they have had a single, *S!CK,* in the Top Ten. They are touring the USA, Canada, and Europe for much of the rest of the year.
Alex always cites Jeff Beck as one of his main influences, and it really shows in this song. The solo (6:05) could easily be mistaken for a lost Beck tape. Alex is #1
3:50 I just left a comment on a different rush song about Alex being completely under-rated. Watching him play various stringed instruments. In the same song. Live. And nailing every note, chord, and pluck. Excellent.
Hello friends! I would like your opinion on the song "Jorneyman" by Iron Maiden, live and acoustic! A very different and interesting song to react to: Reference video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lxHz3wuNUpM.htmlsi=wcCNM3AzVILrlGx8
Alex is absolutely underrated. All three of these artists are geniuses. My favorite band forever and always. Since Neil's death, I can't listen to them without tears. Not just for the sadness of no new music to come from the best of the best, but for the joy that their music brought to my life for decades.
I just got a Marshall JCM 900 4100 model head and a 1960A cab with it from a friend for a great price !!!. So far I am liking the B channel the most, but I have yet to try out my Behringer V-Amp II in the effects loop to see how that sounds. You got a great crunchy sound in this video brother...sounds killer !!! Nice video !!! Cheers !!!
ok Out Loud Studios, great reaction, get this- the album version on the classic Rush prog rock masterpiece, "A Farewell To Kings," the album version was recorded in 1 take! the engineer said it was the most amazing thing he ever saw- they played it together and they nailed this complex piece in 1 take!!! Rush at the early height of their powers, true one of a kind legendary trailblazers...and yes!! Alex Lifeson is criminally under rated...he is in his own league, truly..
I was 18, when I was at this exact concert in 1981 in Montreal, Canada. I live in Neil's hometown, and saw them many, many times; including at my school, when John Rutsey was the drummer.
I'm late to the party.... super glad you got into this. Another worthy of review, full instramental is "Leave that thing alone", and this version has the tone and character to astounding perfection: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WbsC_fGArVc.html Give it a review.
First Preist concert I ever saw. I love how they opened with this song, and Rob was on top of the stage and got lowered down with a crane . It was awesome awesome
They were at the very top as a live show. All though they got better thru the years they also got loser and you could see they had a lot more fun. My guess is if you play song thousands of times over and you can still find ways to be creative with that song by having fun with this song and not taking away any notes from it and replacing it anyway you know you painted the perfect picture of what you wanted to, do is an artist
