Welcome lovelies! I'm itsjavachip - a Londoner who now lives in NYC. I play a variety of games, so you will see full playthroughs of al the games I play on this channel, as well as trailer/gameplay reactions and a variety of other gaming videos on this channel. Thanks so much for being here and hope you enjoy yourselves!
something I just saw, my dear Java: when you throw any attack, you do with only one hand. You could do a bit more dmg while holding your weapons with both hands ♥cheers and props for the win
I suggest you overlevel and as much as possible to afford minimum requirements for moat dlc weapons or collect a lot of larval tears. There's a lot of fun and flashy weapons but a lot of them scale with more than two stats which has higher damage ceiling for high level characters. It's so fun to try out different builds for every fight. I have fought 5-6 big bosses and I have used a different build or weapon in all of them it also opens up a lot of options and give flexibility to your character. Don't gwt attached to only one playstyle
Carapace does point toward the dress being crustacean shell. I FIRST guessed meat actually and the name made me second guess. Upon more thought; there's multiple races in BG3, including dragon born and possibly others that are even more crab-like than we've seen. I wouldn't rule out the red dragon notion entirely given we've seen Ansur take full dragon form and one that's more humanoid looking. Since it's multiple victims it could have them in the mix and add to the texture. Dried meat/leather already can have a variety of textures and be made into patent etc with treatments. Various tanning methods yield quite different results here in the real world too. Latex gets shined with silicone. Getting extra crazy...she could have preserved literal blood or who knows what else if u consider there's magic in this game. 🩸✨
It’s an issue with streaming/recording the game in fullscreen on PC. It doesn’t tear when I’m playing, only the stream/recording output. It’s fixed in the next part
Mogh is a really difficult boss, but most people fight him with overleveled char that kills him before he can do anything really. Props for fighting him legit.
you're supposed to level up and use mimics it IS the legit way to play. If somebody wants to bang their head against a wall and do it the hard way for a challenge that's up to them, but it's not the right way.
@@zaftra didn't say the right way, I said "legit way", where you actually have to learn boss moveset. ER has glaring difficulty balance issues, either being too easily cheesed, or being stupidly hard if not maxim your char or using op stuff.
Women in social media : oh we want a traditional Gothic gentleman. Also women in real life when they see a traditional gothic Gentleman : ew who date this old man. Women ☕🤦🏻🤡
The thing about the armor is the weight. The heavier armor is generally always better but the later light ones give you more value for your weight spent. Fashion over function anyway. The only thing you can really do with it is stack poise, the damage negation itself isn't that dramatic unless you go from naked to the heaviest sets. So yeah it helps, but it's not a deal breaker. Could be using that spare weight for a light side weapon, a shield, or a heavier main weapon.
I don't know if I missed this what happen to the dlc video this is base game I'm confused. Also if you can let me know the day you go live Thanks. Cheers🍾
I know, it’s a bit confusing because I was behind in uploading base game videos. Basically I beat Mogh on Weds June 19, start the DLC on Thurs 20, then on Sat 22 I go back to base game to visit Farum and level up/get bell bearings, then its all DLC the following days. I make it obvious in the recordings from Sat 22 and Sun 23 what continuity is. I go like usually at 3pm on Twitch but may start over on RU-vid too
So I'm halfway through and looking at the other Elden Ring videos.... what's the continuity here? Isn't this the same character from your 2nd playthrough? Are the non DLC from a backlog?
I have one more part to upload in the Elden Ring second playthrough that will be the Mogh fight. That leads into the Elden Ring DLC. I’ll have one other video that shows time in Farum Azula. That happens between recording sessions one and two of the DLC (what will be episodes 2 and 3 of the DLC playlist). I start each those episodes with explanations of where I’m at and continuity so it should hopefully help clear things up. The first playthrough of Elden ring is unrelated to this one
BTW, loving the backhand blades. It almost seems like running attacks make you go faster. Since you're already barely wearing armor you might consider to push your weight to light roll. I think it works great with these. Also BTW BTW you can infuse them with anything you want.
if your not using golden vow multiple times per rest you can use a mixed physic with +10 faith (along side the now "standard" 15% damage reduction for 3 mins) then drop your faith to 15 and still be able to cast golden vow before each boss fight. Scardutree Blessing is the new levelling, need to hunt them down to gain power in the DLC
Yeah between my first play session (episodes 1 and 2 on youtube) and my second play session (what will be episode three) it's like night and day. I levelled up, got the bell bearings, fully levelled my weapons and it's going great now
This build seems insanely punishing for your, erm, reflexes. Nonexistent defense, entirely speed based, if you get caught you get punished hard and killed in two hits. I'd have gone with shield and sword if melee, or a pure mage class. Much easier. My skills are pretty good and I still use sword/shield in those games because it allows so much effective defense.
I levelled up my scadu and my levels (I entered the DLC at level 129) at the start of my second play session (what will be episode 3) and I'm all good now. This build is great for me and how I naturally play, but I get that you need to be more defensive or magic build! That's the great thing about Elden Ring, it allows for all sorts of playstyles.
@@itsjavachip If it's great for you, then it's all that matters 🙏I was just afraid that you would be getting quickly frustrated. But it appears I was wrong and you are much more determined than I thought 👍
We were in the same boat. I started Shadows on a character at the same level and point in the game. Ended up playing both the endgame and dlc at same time because there were things and levels and bell bearings I needed. In the end, I think it was pretty fun doing it that way. It'll get much easier once you're 150 and kitted out with the optimal talismans
yea i was at about 7 scadutree blessing level when i fought rellana. she has a lot of health. so i decided to go explore a bit to get my blessing upgrades up to a decent amount.
Math Question?----Scadutree Blessing + Scadutree Blessing= U Survive 50seeds happy hunting. I beat Swordmaster first try 15 levels under you it's all in the seeds. Blasphemous still works great in dlc.
I wouldn't worry about levels at all. The entire point of the Scardutree Blessing is to circumvent "over leveled" characters. I say level up until you create the build you want to play.
My suggestion is switch weapon to Great sword, hammer or spear. Great class weapons will interrupt mob attacks up to knight class unless they are using weapon art with hyper armor. Also, some weapon arts will make life easy with Great weapons class. They are Lion heart to flatten mobs and Piercing fang to hit through shielded mobs and interrupt their attack. Impaling thrust will damage through shield but it will not interrupt attack but people like it due to quick motion.
Fast weapons like katana are good for big bosses which their attacks will not be interrupted unless their pois is broken but it is too painful to use them if you need to clear 100 normal mobs with it.
Great video Java ☕time for you to start hunting Scadutree blessing There's only 50 seeds. Also congrats on no summons I'm sorry I do have to say is I Luv My MIMIC anyway good luck. My nickname is CupofJoe☕. Cheers from Canada.
Wait the nickname for your mimic is so cute! There's no summon shaming here, I hope you and your mimic are having an amazing time exploring the Land of Shadows. Lord knows I might be renewing Tiche's passport at some point 😂
@@itsjavachip The Cupofjoe☕ is my nickname not the Mimic. Sorry I think you read it wrong. I would never Shame on your no Summon play through. just why work harder when you can work smarter. I do like watching your video's and your voice. Cheers👍
Honesty, you've ripped through ER this time. Genuinely impressive. I recommend people check out the first playthrough and compare it. The difference in gameplay is night and day, and I loved the playthrough first time around!
@@itsjavachip I maxed those out for a while until I got claws and realized I've been wanting those all along. Thanks for posting early gameplay, everyone else is spoiler alert city 😂
@@itsjavachip the first guy you fight with the circle swords and the crazy movement attacks can drop his weapon (also a backhand blade) you can farm that one in Belarut from the Stagefront Grace
Just fyi, the place you assumed you initially spawned in from on the map isn’t actually where you spawned in from (won’t say anymore than that you should find out yourself) you spawned in left of the grace
some tips about the expansion without spoilers, if you're feeling frustrated by the difficulty, it's because this expansion was made for characters level 150 and up, it's an expansion that takes into account you having finished the game and having explored the entire base game, making your character super powerful by killing bosses in 1 minute like in the videos out there, it is essential that you collect scatutree fragments to level up your character, they are spread across the map and increase your status, you can see a video of where all these fragments are on the starting map if you don't want to explore, because it's really essential to survive the bosses, so far I've killed 4 bosses alone without the help of spirits, but I'm pretty strong at level 165 and with 5 fragment upgrades
100% this. I've done two play sessions of the DLC now and my second one went SIGNIFICANTLY better than the first. Some things that helped (not spoilers): I really did need to level up (went in 129 with like 55 vigor, 55 dex, low endurance). Getting my endurance way up and my vigor and dex to 60 were super helpful - endurance is a must to increase your survivability in the DLC since things are crazy aggro (in my opinion, obviously people can disagree). Exploring around the beginning area more thoroughly before going to do more boss fights was also crazy helpful - do not sleep on the scadu fragments they're insanely important. They're basically how you level up your attacks and your defense. Also incase you're like me and were fighting with weapons that werent fully levelled, definitely fully level them (I went back to base game to get the bell bearings).

@@mentormachado4601 Thanks, I dont get why FS introduced the scadutree mechanic, its really innecesary and confusing. If they wanted to force players to explore, I think there are better ways to achieve that goal
I agree, they could have at least explained better the level up system in the game, and what the benefits of it are, this would make people go after them, instead of trying to kill a boss and die 20 times, in this video we see the lack of level, lack of fragments, and lack of weapon at +25, she didn't kill any boss she faced due to lack of damage@@nacorcarmonablanco4414

The scadu fragments were popped into the game so everyone would start off on equal footing (Whether you're level 150 or level 300). If the fragments weren't there I guess NG+ would be melting things OR level 150 would just be blown out the water. At least that's my assumption for why they're there!
@@itsjavachip Thanks for the detailed response. I have been looking at the game files, and unless I messed something, scadutree fragments are x0.05 players absorption and damage multipliers, so if there are 20 scads scattered around the map, players can reach a total of x2 absorption and damage. This is a huge difference, although it still doesnt make the game easy at all because of how insanely overtuned enemies are in SOTE (you will die in four hits instead of two against the main bosses, and some enemies can reach x16 base hp). Players base level in fact does matter, because the scads multipliers apply over them. It seems FS wanted to push players into exploring the map thoroughly instead of rushing to the boss fights. I find this design quite unintuitive and forced, but well, it is what it is. Nice to see you improving, you are now a real ER expert!
1. I was using katanas you don't typically see players use 2. I find new weapon I want to use in this video 3. I literally just started the DLC, just give me time to find stuff... 😅
Wishing an insane amount of luck LOL. Also don't hesitate to take breaks between tough bosses! My little tip for this DLC would be to take an habit to go back to the NPC characters you've met, rest at site of grace, talk to them again, etc. They have questlines that are surprisingly connected to one another. It sort of reminds me of Ranni and her crew's questline, where you needed to often go back to Iji, Blaidd and Seluvis to get extra dialogues and advance it. A bit different to the standards quests of the base game who often feel disconnected from one another. Here, the multiple NPCs all know eachother because they're all following into Miquella's footsteps. Otherwise, explore for Scadutree fragments...*but* don't go too far either. Sure it's "open-world" to a degree, but due to the narrative and the NPCs involved, there's a pretty intended path to the game in my opinion and it's sort leading you into it. I think if you haven't got the map fragment for it, then don't explore it, that seems fair to me. Finally...Enjoy ^^
Just finished my second play session and this is all perfectly on point. I think you'll be please to see how closely I followed all of this even though it was before I read it 😂 I'm TERRIFIED of missing out on story beats, so I'm obsessively talking to all the NPCs
