Brief history on the car. It was my Mom's 1st car, and the very one I took my drivers test in back in 1973! My two sons and my Dad pulled it out of the woods from behind their house in 2016. We stripped it to bare metal, and decided to shoot it Tactical Aircraft Gray to match all the TACAIR aircraft I flew while in the USN. We got with my friend Kevin Smith at KSR late 2019, and built it into a 25.3/25.2 Radial Car w/ 5.3 and 88mm Turbo.
Your analysis of the wheelie shows how much you pay attention to small things and get a better result in the long run…keep up the great work and keep us informed Can’t wait to see more
leaf spring sliders work well? my 72 nova is nearly done I almost sold it for a 4link car but it sold hella fast so im sticking with mine and the leaf springs
Don't know ... zero witness marks anywhere. Not even our wheelie skids showed contact. Maybe just picked up something from on the track? Front spoiler frame gets within 0.5"-0.75" of the track surface at wheelie skid contact.
Yep. We toned it down to a 1.10 60' so we'd go A-B because we knew we had the mph. We have a timing retard set on a switch so we can tone it down for the first 60' if situations dictate. If we didn't have clean hit, we'd have been collected for sure. That Nova was beautiful car, that was just finished.
What a great car! Saw you over on the KSR channel. I'm building a 62 Falcon with Caltracs and split monos. I'm a glutton for punishment so I have spent about 3 months trying to design some ride height adjustment into it. I think I've finally gotten it. I need to get some Funkhouser parts now! Can't wait to spend hours watching your videos and imagining what my single turbo 4.8 will do in the Falcon with 15-20lbs.
We're primarily a NT (Florida No Time Car) until we move into Limited Drag Radial later this winter with a much improved platform. Upgrades from Turbo through Converter) We'll be excited to post some times then. We affectionately call it "Pro Stock 660' on a budget."
