My name is Ali. I live with my husband, Paul and our four children. We live in Utah and love living here! My oldest went off to college recently, so it is really strange that my kids are starting to leave! I can't believe I am already here at this stage of my life. I'm loving it, though.

@@reallifewithali Sorry, I didn't state that too clearly. I'm saying that what you did inside the drawers was good, using white instead of acrylic. The items seem to pop better against the white so they'd be easier to find.
Tip: skip the contact paper in the bottom of cupboard. Instead pick up some peel n stick linoleum tiles at big box store. (Measure cabinet inside before you go). Most often you don’t need to do any cutting. If you do score the tile with an exacto knife then use pliers to hold one side and then slowly bend with other hand til it snaps. The tiles are easy to wipe up and the bottom of the cabinet is protected from pipe leaks or product leaks. ❤
Just found you. You don’t ramble. You explain what you are doing and why helps us in our decision-making process. I love decluttering videos. I’m subscribing. I don’t use wash clothes either. Don’t feel guilty! Hanging onto things isn’t going to improve anything. As I am currently decluttering and reorganizing my house, I have donated a trunk and back seat full of things I don’t use anymore to Goodwill and 2 trunks full to our local Hospice resale shop. It takes the sting out knowing they will be put to better use than taking up space on the garage shelves. As for me, clutter is extremely stressful for me. I am including visual clutter. I hate to have to search for anything and I have learned that if you have a place for everything you are much more likely to put things where they belong. Repetition will make it a good habit in little time. You are just like millions of us, including me! Today, I put the oven on to preheat. That would take about 5 minutes. Instead of sitting down until it was ready, I went over to the dog corner and reorganized the drawer for their meds, leashes, etc. and it looked wonderful! And I felt great. ❤ Shirley
It's so nice to see drawers & cabinets organized. I organized all of my kitchen drawers a while ago, but I still had my junk drawer to do. We'll last week, I finally organized it using containers from Amazon to sort all of the stuff. Even my husband was pleased with the result. Thanks for your inspiration.😊
I love that you showed the struggle with the bottles in the lazy susan turntable. All too often videos make it look easier than it is, then when you're doing it at home and you run into struggles it makes you feel even more like a failure. So thank you!!
I've used bus pans (like waiters use) as large pull-out trays on bathroom shelves or under the sink. I can subdivide them with medium containers. The whole bus pan slides easily in and out.
so many of these tips are great.. but not laundry.. I could never ever do laundry everyday. My kids bring their laundry from their room to the laundry room, sort by color and then I marathon the laundry over the weekend.. I resort the clean stuff into respective baskets. kids pick it up and put it away. I would really dislike not being able to use this system with daily laundry.
Everyone has their own way of doing things! I hate spending a whole day doing laundry so doing it everyday works for me. But I'm glad you found a way to do it that works for you! ❤

Ali! How awesome are you?! Thanks to your friend for volunteering her home for another fun friend declutter. What a great way to make everything more accessible. I will need to look more into some of those organizers for my kids’ bathroom. As they mature, more products are needed. My only additional suggestion would be to add contact paper/liner. Can be a PITA to do, but so satisfying as well, ha!

I've been overwhelmed with the concept of decluttering because I want to "get it all done" in one large chunk. This is SUPER doable, even for someone like me with ADHD...it almost mimics the "junebugging" approach to cleaning and organizing. Can't wait to have a go with this in my house!

These are more personal questions so I hope you don’t mind them. How have you lost so much weight? And do you use a treatment on your eye lashes to get them to curl ? I love your videos. If you watch Cas from clutterbug you know about the different clutterbug styles and you seem to be a cricket like me. Most of the other you tube organizers I watch are ladybugs and butterflies so I’m so happy to watch some one who organizes more like me. You totally get me lol. Keep making videos! I love how you talk through how you decide what to keep. And your thought process. I like how you talk about cleaning and organizing as you go also. That’s a cricket thing! This is how I work too or I don’t feel like the jobs done.
Thank you! I was wondering if I was a cricket. I guess I’m not sure! Haha. I think I’ve taken her test a few times and sometimes I get cricket and sometimes I get ladybug. As for the weight loss, my doctor put me on Wegovy (similar to Ozempic) for pre-diabetes and luckily it also helps you lose weight! I have been blessed with dark eyelashes. I do put on mascara nowadays, but nothing else. I do use just a lash curler just to give them a little lift. Thanks for commenting and supporting my channel! 😊
All great suggestions! I am a reformed hoarder. I used to have a packed house and five storage units. It took a catastrophic illness and a natural disaster to shift my mindset. Now I love being minimal. I look for things daily to declutter, I find so much joy in neat, clean, fresh spaces.
Haha I just used a single sock as a dusting mitt today! Having something to collect unwanted clothing in or near your closet is a great tip. I'm in the habit of using a trash bag because all of our boxes tend to collect other types of donations like household goods.
