I really like you and I LOVE your channel. Like Andrea Jean, you are really refreshing. You’re in my top 5. I haven’t watched tv in years. Not since I started watching RU-vid, so I watch a lot of RU-vid. lol. You’re just straight on refreshing and your content is always enjoyable.
I love your 15 min declutters, especially when you go over the time because you're in the mood to keep going. Im going to give that ago. Have a lovely week x
A tip to take every inch out of a tube is to cut the tube halfway down, cut the half with the cap again into two this part is normally norrower but round, to you half is usually wider but more oval. Slide the top part over the remains product you may need to wedge the top over the bottom. You don’t use it as a tube you have to dip your finger into the remainder of the product. If something is really expensive and you want to make use of every drop. Then this make as great way of ensuring every bit is used and not wasted.
Of course I always love your videos❤❤Buying less is hard sometimes especially if you want to stock up on regularly used items and if you’re buying for multiple family members. I’m trying as well. ❤❤ See you next week❤❤
I use a shoe organizer on the back of bathroom door. Toothpaste, toothbrushs, Pain meds., tums etc. Labeled of course.😁 That way hubs can find what he needs with out asking where something is.
This was a Really good video. I love how you talk through the thinking process. I like that you organise in real time and show that that takes time and thinking and can be difficult or frustrating until you get it right. I appreciate you telling your feelings of overwhelm its so relatable. You do a very good detailed job. Well done ❤
The plain strong mint Fisherman's Friends (or Foes) is a good one; but the menthol or anything else that creeps in tastes a bit tar like! Not like I eat tar.....just sayin'. :-) Good job decluttering! I think the problem with clutter can relate to the big box stores, esp. in the USA . If you buy in bulk, you end up "storing" or looking for where they are going to be stored, thus: clutter returns! It becomes overwhelming. I have a 60 mile roundtrip commute to our nearest town for shopping, and yet, I don't run out of anything. I have some spares, but only what I truly need. We have a small cottage with little storage space, so each shelf is vital real estate!
Thanks! I totally understand having to “store” those items. That’s why I’m trying to use the “container concept” and only buy what fits comfortably in the bins. Obviously, I didn’t do that great, but I have to motivation to! Plus we have a large family living here. I have to space to store it so I’m not too concerned.
@@reallifewithali Your methods are great! You are a wonderful speaker. I think we will always declutter in this generation! I love your videos. I am in Scotland by the way.
Packaging always takes up too much space. I categorize my bathroom closet as follows. Dental related items all in one bin. Soap, shampoos and conditioners all in another bin. Deodorant, razors and lotions that are used on the skin are all in together. Ladies feminine items in another bin. I hope that helps someone organize their bathroom closets.
It seems like your containers are too deep for all the small things you keep in them. So they become a big jumble. Maybe install an extra shelf and get more shallow containers for easier access and a better view of what you have. Alos, I buy my toiletries in bulk every year around November. So I have toothbrushes and tooth paste and soap for the next year (or two) in stock.
That is a good idea. I guess I use the deep containers for the "extras" because many of them are large and tall, like the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. But I love the idea. Thanks!
@@reallifewithali Yes, definitely keep the containers for the larger bottles. But I find that the smaller items can easily get 'lost' in those bigger containers :-)
I bought the same refillable bottles several months back and after the first attempt was like nope, nope nope. Ain't nobody got time to decant thick conditioner LOL! I donated them but it took forever to clean out the residual soap. Lawd.....
My suggestion is to use one bin for each category, one for hair, oral care, lotions. Just looking at the first bin you are organizing it is all jumbled together. I love your videos though.
I cleaned out a cabinet today at work. Threw out half the stuff in there we had not used in maybe 10 years. Felt fantastic. Small office. Every space is precious. Waaay better
Doesn’t this seem like you’re buying too much if it keeps adding up. This isn’t a comment to drag you….but I hope others reading it see that their Costco savings are not saving much really.
Yes there are definitely times I am buying too much! I am learning (slower than I want lol) to buy less and more intentionally. But there are things that I do like to buy in bulk because they do save me money and I know I use them. I just need to do better at controlling how much of that I actually bring in my home. I don’t want baskets to be bursting like they were in my bathroom. 😬
I get it. Soap/toothbrushes in bulk are great with kids because they never go bad but I’ve learned that this crap is alway on sale and it’s always easy to grab at the store… Someone said that why it called the “Stores”. They store all the crap so we don’t have to. Good example for people who can’t get started.
You are so lucky to have so much storage in your bathroom Ali, good job in decluttering, the end result looks so much better. really enjoyed the longer video, thanks for sticking it out till the end. 🤩
Sometimes when I find a space get cluttered again quickly and I am forgetting that I have an overflow in a basket. I get rid of the basket and keep everything in the shelf so I can see it. Just a suggestion.
Link to the clear bigger bin you used, please! Love those! I’m glad you kept going after the timer went off. Usually the hardest is getting started! Am I a dork if I found the nail polish declutter/organization satisfying?! lol Another great video! 😊
Hello Ali I love your videos you give me big inspiration about cleaning and decluttering in good way.i started walking you few days ago and now even go back previously videos too.i just want say you do great job about house and well done about you too u looking amazing when after one year looking so different and looks amazing.
As for your medications. I don't know what you mean by "get ride of" but it should not be tossed into the trash(landfill) or flushed down the toilet which isn't good for the water system. There is a drop off box at my local hospital. It's right down the hallway from the reception desk and looks like a mail box. It's a safe way to dispose of them. I believe that in my town they also accept them at the police station.
