In the mid 1990's I auditioned many speakers, and the best sound in my opinion were from a company called JM Lab, which eventually became Focal. I could not afford the model I liked, so I settled for Hales Revelation 2, tower speakers. Since then, I have bookshelf speakers from Focal, Chorus, which I have downstairs. Supeb finish, and great sound, accompanied by my Cambridge sub. I'm seriously looking to upgrade in the near future, would like to check out the Evo 1 and 2. My living room is not too big, so I probably will go for the bookshelf #1s. Too bad your demo did not include Enter Sandman.
There’s hundreds and thousands of handicapped and you never cater to handicap with different kinds of issues. I wish somebody in the furniture stores would think of all the millions of people that are handicapped and would love to have one of these.
My thoughts exactly. I have the Q750G and it's a great performer, but I want that glossy screen the QM850G had, so hope since it now has the QM, they also incorporate that glossy screen for better reflection handling of how it handles lights ,
Bought a 2023 MQ8 on Black Friday, coming from a LG C9 OLED I was impressed by its performance. Not OLED quality by any long shot, but for $850 65”, this price for performance can’t be beat. Image and processing however is far behind LG. But with a quality raw 4K HDR source the TV is very impressive as long as it doesn’t have to upscale.
Finally got a chance to try out the new mythos 3c passive soundbar with a deftech descend subwoofer all powered by marantz and the experience was surprisingly good
I run two 310s and two 710s by plugging my rca out from my ddj sb3 to a 3.5mm splitter with a female to female plug and two 3.5mm audio cables to the aux in on the back of the speakers and then push the tws button on the 310 and 710 to pair them with the other 310 and other 710. I then have 4 speakers in stereo!! And they sound great, no buzzing or lagging. This avoids the daisy chain and I have stereo sound.
Using something like a Denon 103 can be a struggle to get enough head shell mass (or effective tonearm mass I guess) for proper control of the low compliance cartridge. In my experience, I added head shell weight and the supplied extra counter weight to balance or the sound suffered. I bought the DL-103 not realizing how low compliance it is and it sounded awful (noticeably worse than a N97xE or a AT-VM95ML) until I educated myself and applied the tuning above (yes, with appropriate MC Pre). Thought it was the stylus differences but no, for me it was setup. Also, it's worth mentioning something most reviewers tend to miss - the supplied head shell has a set screw which allows for azimuth adjustment. Mine was noticeably off out of the box and the micro-line cartridge sounded very unbalanced until I dialed in the azimuth. I'm not at all a golden ear but I do actually hear the differences with proper set up given all the cartridge and geometry fussing about for setup. I've since bought a bunch of head shells to experiment and realized after the fact most of the cheap ones do not allow azimuth changes - I encourage buying ones which do allow for azimuth adjustment. Absolutely love the TT. Mine did not come with a 3mm spacer as mentioned by some other reviewers, so again - the 103 needs one. The tonearm on the black model is silver not black - doesn't bother me - maybe just a variation on later shipping models since I bought mine roughly Feb 2024. Copied most of this from other videos since I see this info often missing.
Solid review with practical hands on. Best I have seen so far. If I hear very slight ringing (not on this turntable) between the tracks, ist here a method to find out weather its from the platter or from the arm? Thanks for doing and commenting the sound samples, thats done cool!
I was about to buy the previous svs ultra speakers for my hifi/home theater build but now this new version is a must have I'd pay $5,000 for a single let alone a pair but yeah going to go good with the denon avr-x4800h and marantz model 40n with emotiva xpa 9 & 2 channel amps
I was there! My favorite of the show, soooo close to buying them, but just a "tad" out of my allowable spend for the show. Sigh. 2025 is the year! (paying for a wedding in Italy this year)
