The old worlds is fully functional to this day, as long as you properly login. Most of the players just are idling in the lobby, but sometimes you'll find someone chatting or exploring. The email system is working now so it's actually possible to create an account again
I used to play on War of the Ring. Not often but I had some friends on it. If i remember correctly hey were updating the mod to 1.16 or something but im not sure that the update was ever completed. I know my Friends and I were going to wait for the update to play again and many others probably had the same perspective. The lack of an update probably led to the abandonement.
i know this video is a couple months old now but i just wanted to say i love your channel and think ur so entertaining, also love the topics you do. im obsessed with games and chronically online so yeah. I love googie 😼
Random fun fact: The "Ghost Car" jump scare video is just a repurposed German energy drink commercial. The end is cut off, but it asks something to the effect of "did that get your heart racing?" before flashing the brand and suggesting a less jarring method of waking up/gettin the heart going. Also, as a geriatric ass millennial I think the biggest horror of early internet days where the digital STDs we overloaded our PCs with for the sake of a few Limewire (or if really sketchy and broke like myself, Frostwire) Mp3s. Oh and the roulette of trying to download a pirated movie or show. 1/3 chance ya get either a janky theater recording on a 2 pixel POS Motorola flip phone cam, the actual video ya want in a tolerably terrible quality, or outright mislabeled errrmmm "intimate adult" entertainment when ya just wanted to watch Treehouse of Horrors IV 😅
Active worlds actually made headlines back in 2016 when Vinny from Vine sauce was playing it and exploring while streaming when he came across an NPC who started showing signs of life. It became a real creepy incident incident but it turned out that it was somebody who was screwing around with him. A viewer decided to hop on and start messing with him while he was streaming and pretended to be an npc. She admitted to it later but it was accepted as real during the stream.
32:25 I think Bendy and the ink machine was just as popular at FNAF in its time. It didn't really last quite as long, but the initial impact was just as big.
I'd argue that the modern day version of the scary chain email is those things people share on their instagram stories saying stuff like 'share if you don't support murder, I can see who skips'
My mood improved watching your video. It was wonderful. When you spit on people in the US it was funny. I wonder if you added the sounds or was it the original ones? Another great video.
can you imagine if one of the people who played on the lotr server saw him throw that ring in to the fire... maybe in there cannon that's where Frodo died and they left it there.
Kinda weird that you've never seen the marriage plugin. Also kinda rude to diss a server for selling cosmetics when the eula more or less forces servers to only be able to offer cosmetics
If someone reads this there was a flash game about a greek warrior with a tribal music the grafic was good and everything but i don’t remember the game name
i was so obsessed with nitrome as a kid, totally forgot about it until recently and have been looking around the old games and their discord server. TY for mentioning them !! hopefully the exposure helps keep sites like this up. <3
