That horse was bet down and not worth 4/5 that simple. Any horse bet below even money who has no early speed loses more then they win. This is a big problem in small pools the favorites are bet down and do not represent the actual odds.
Acting Like Fierceness Was Some Lock of a Lifetime in Derby Was Just Handicappers PRETENDING He Was Immortal Coming into Derby....Les Did Not Even Believe in His Own Words About Fierceness...He Like Many Others Just Were Hoping to Feel "Smart" if Fierceness Ran Big
Hungry Jockey theory. Some Jockeys may be encouraged to gear down, and let a Hungry Jockey at longer odds out finish them. The Jockey's schedule can provide clues who will continue to fight to the finish while others gear down.
hey gabe...how much money did you lose in the derby? I had $200 on the 3 to win and keyed him in multiple exactas. Do I need to tell you how the 3 finished. Better luck in the preakness
He is not wrong you do no count out a Johnny V horse without Baffert in the mix Fierceness by 3 horses Fierceness Sierra Donough is by win place show. my heads been screaming sierra leone since october times dont show triple crown but Fierceness will win the Derby of every race before the derby Fierce beat the best horses by 8-10 lengths
LOL, one night I picked a 40 to 1 shot to beat one of Lester's chalks. Lester told the whole crowd he'd squirm naked over broken glass if my horse won. My horse won. Never saw ol Lester bleeding. 😊
I feel your pain brother, nothing makes me more mad than seeing a horse win by 10 lengths, the battle for second doesn't get shown on the screen because the jockey on the huge favorite is probably pulling the horse up so it doesn't finish second place, the shit was fixed no doubt about it, I see this shit everyday at the track, the 2 exactas featuring the 3 and 4 were heavily bet down and the jockey was instructed to finish out of the exacta to fuck the public over
What? That would be barred, no it is a bum horse not worth the odds he pulled up being unwell to finish, a big factor in all horse racing is bad unwell horses who really aren't fit , the trainer pulling up against the public is impossible there arent that many in the pool.
Hahaha not a chance in hell, fierceness has form cycle that says when he runs a monster race, the next race out is always a disappointment. That will certainly continue, he cant string together two marvelous races. I expect something will go wrong with him, hops out the gate, stumbles a bit and gets shuffled at the back of the pack, yep fierceness wont even hit the board, mark my words
Consider that is a pretty small sample size( it happened twice and one time he hit the board), and that cycle is monster race maiden race then thrown into a grade 1 Champagne Stakes in the slop. Perhaps that was a bit too ambitious for Pletcher? Then the next was from the monster BC Classic to a 96 day layoff and then the Holy Bull first race back in a 3 race prep. Pletcher never has his horses cranked first race back but thought he was good enough to win anyway...maybe he was just short?
@@revizionaryenterprises9655yep gotta love being dead on the money, like I said I've seen horses like this my whole life, can't ever follow a massive performance with another one, yep fierceness did EXACTLY what I knew he was gonna do, gotta love being right when so many experts hyped this horse up as some kind of super horse, what a joke, that performance was one of the biggest dud ive ever seen, he was backpedaling before he even hit the top of the stretch
3/4 111.3 and nobody is near him not much of a grade one field but that being said this is another average group for the derby and if he repeats that he will jog
Fierceness will not win. He has the good race bad race style. Since he won his last race guess what he does in the derby. Sierra Leone is a one run pony, very few Derby winners have that style as they usually run into traffic. Im looking at the 6-7-8 right now for the winner.
Yeah, the past is always the arbiter of the future...that is why everyone had Rich Strike and Mine that Bird to win the Derby. The truth is he is 3 wins and a show out of 5 races with 2 dominating grade 1 wins. Johnny V said he is not sure if it happend because he tried to bring Fierceness back when he became rank early after getting hit at the break (and he resented it) or if he was short in the HB...but he just stopped. BTW, if I was using your race style handicapping formula I would point out that the 6 has only won 2 times in 11 starts and he seems to have forgotten how to win, nice horse, but not for the win. BTW, Just Steel has run 7th or 6th three times!! And third numerous times. Yet he is your choice over Fierceness? OK...He will be at a price, and I may have him underneath...but he likely will not win. He has not run fast enough. I do like the 8. I agree on the 2, and how he is up against it. If they get the 7 closer to the pace he may have a shot. My only concern for the 8 is the only race he has won is his maiden. He lost his other two (2 places). At some point you have to win again, but I liked Mage last year too.
Fierceness beat a pack of mediocre horses at Gulfstream. He had no fight in his two losses. Many horses are great on a loose lead but that is not likely in the Derby.
Explain the BC Juvenile, where he rated off the pace and put that one away and then repelled Muth and won going away by 6.5 lengths? He was not "loose on the lead" in that race. Not even close.
It's a wide open Derby! I believe there's five or six horses can possibly win including just a touch, honor Marie, catching freedom, and my favorite long shot Encino!
Yes taking a stand against him for a few different reason he will go off the Derby chalk and he's valunarable he had things his own way in the Fla Derby that's not going to happen in Louisville he's a small colt has a pattern of inconsistency which is a concern ?about getting the distance and if he gets caught up in a speed dual on fast splits that's no good don't see no value with him at short odds so looking elsewhere sorry Mike
He is right...Fierceness will win for fun. His 3rd place finish in the Holy Bull was an off race where it was his first race back and bounced out of the gate before the short run up. He still finished third by a length. His BC Juv and Fl Derby were both tour de forces...Johnny V will get him out of the gate and sit near the front and he will pull away. A price horse comes in second, Sierra up for leone third.
Sorry but im a man of superstition, Johnny V wont win the derby with fierceness, Johnny V only wins derbies on horses that start with A, Authentic, Always Dreaming, Animal Kingdom. Medina Spirit is the exception but according to CDI, MS never won the race so as far as im concerned if Johnny V is riding a horse whose name doesn't start with A, then hes got no chance. Plus fierceness doesn't know how to run two marvelous races back to back. He wont even hit the board, I expect something to go wrong right out of the gate and have him shuffled mid pack where he has no chance navigating through all that traffic
Fierceness wont lose 1 48 1 easy for 9 furlongs the others going 1 49 and change hard ridden it should be by how far exacta horses arestrong hold sierra leone and catching freedom
…..if only it were that easy….. a 20 horse field…..and Fierceness has run some ordinary races….he is going to have pressure on the front end… and he is going to regress…. but he could be fast enough to regress and still win…..his thorograph pattern is not great….. but the best thing going for him is Johnny V in the irons…. the nations best rider; better than Irad…. Velazquez is the best judge of pace in the country… going to be an interesting Derby
