Hi My name is Pete. I love old stuff. Some time ago I turned a bus into a bar for the events industry and it's been a huge success! I'm going to have another go but this time I'm going to roll the cameras. Watch me take a 1967 Routemaster London Double decker bus and turn it into something cool for the events industry.
Pete is a normal (ish) guy who has a big passion for old vehicles and particularly old buses. He is NOT a trained mechanic nor is he professional restorer. He enjoys converting vehicles but he can not promise that what he is doing is going to work on your vehicle. Nor can he promise that you won’t harm yourself if you were to attempt the things he does. He recommends that you are safe and responsible with machinery and equipment, even if you’ve seen him messing about with it. A workshop and it’s content can be a dangerous place. If you are in doubt about your own vehicle, contact a professional for advice. Enjoy the show!
Please tell me when will the remaining projects of RML2730, such as the cab, re-oiling of the upper layer, re-connecting the light pipes to electricity, etc., be done?
how about a "crowd-funded" collaboration with the Bus Museum of Oxford to buy it? They do after all run most of their fleet on the road on special open days. (and it would be the perfect height - 13ft - to pass under the railway bridge in the city centre)
Truckers tip for you, a tennis ball is a good thimg for wedging the fuel pump handle. Also how irritating is it that petrol station canopies often mark heights in metric only. Low bridges must be marked in imperial or both but never solely metric. As a result we measure load heights in imperial.
Gotta say the bottle assist has to be a genious idea, yours Pete? Lol Watched it all and only realised at end it was a H for harrods yea 😂 I am so slow, must be me age Loved what you said in a answer, gotta spend tine with them while they're here, go tell my kids 😉
As a little tip have a supply of split pins on you when feeling the bus at petrol stations there is a series of hole thru the pump handle and a clip push the pin thru the handle and the clip will hold the trigger until the auto cut off trips in ,saves holding the trigger all the time
Well done Pete - great show. You play it down, but it's clear that there is a huge organization behind that kind of marketing promotion. My God that bus is pink, though. Thanks. Tom (from France).
That was a neat pipe flaring tool, beats a split block with the correct size hole, a vice, a punch and an hammer. Motorway service areas must have a minimum canopy height of 4.75m, 15ft. Other filling stations one takes a chance. She was a pig to fill, even some cars can't cope with modern pump flows.
Hi is that Pete not seen you in a while One question do you get to keep them bikes you review Looks like you had a blast and them enviro 400 are rubbish Thank you for another great video
I've worked in the entertainment business my whole life and by far the most fun I had was when out on tour. Funnily enough with the shows in a few of those Paul Mathew wagons you parked next to in Edinburgh.
Just noticed the National Express Connector bars on the stairwell glass on the Harrods bus. Looks like it was bought for Travel London, which was part of the National Express group until it was sold to Abeilio
@@PeteAndHisBuscorrect! I recognise it as National Express West Midlands is my local bus company and they do pretty well up here, being the major player. Many of our Enviro 400's also have those connector bars on the stairwell glass!
I know it looks cool to ride a bicycle without a crash helmet but its really foolish you only have one brain and on E bikes you are going at a much faster speed the two do not mix
