@@CarterHurd It is. My son's tried building a 30 pound vertical spinner. And really never got to test drive it with the weapon spun up until they were in the first match, and realized they couldn't drive it. We never thought to put groves in the wheels, but the solution to make it somewhat usable was to slow the weapon down. Which then made it live up to its name.. "Wimp". We did try much softer wheels which had a minor effect, but not really enough to matter. they did manage 2/6 for the weekend though, and they seemed pretty happy with that. I got to quickly learn how expensive even 30 pound bots on a budget can get... Which is why we have not tried again lol.
@@wishusknight3009 yeahhh... antweights are much cheaper. You should see how expensive a 250lb bot is, haha. I have found that BaneBot wheels work well for 30lb bots - more grip. But the wheels also have to have proper weight distribution on them to be able to overcome the gyro forces.
Shoutout to the team: Warren, Dave, Taylor, Joey, and Camden made this build possible. if you want merch just google “carter hurd” and the link to merch is in the upper right of my website
That's the fun part of the taco shape. If Shatter hits from the side then the top of the tortilla bends over the top of the robot and dampens the blow, if it hits the front then it will either hit the weapon into the weapon or get hit by the weapon. It is unlikely to get hit from the back, with the pivot point on the front it'll drift its ass out of the way and put its broad side towards the enemy.
found this channel just recently while watching an arzopa monitor review and i love it, youre like hipyo tech's slightly more insane relative that he doesnt talk about
it would be even better if you got yourself a say 10 inch LCD screen with its controller board. These are simply consumer displays taken out of their plastic shell and are often cheap. It would definitely make the cyberdeck more cyberpunk since you won't rely on that ipad. That said I like how it's kinda stitched together unlike other cyberdeck builds with 3D printed parts and sleek smooth surface finishes which aren't that cyberpunk
Good matches! For gyroscopic forces would a lighter weapon or running the weapon at a lower speed help? You could take a page out of bite force's book with lower weapon rpm.
