@sandragilbert8875 Hello Sandra 👋 nice to see another comment from you. Thank you for your feedback, I very much appreciate this. Stay safe out there too! 📹🪨🥾🌱🇦🇺
Make sure you check out Sunshine Great Mountain Trail. It’s right next to the Sun Moon Lake. Happy trip in Taiwan. Summer heat is very brutal. Drink lots of water and don’t get burnt.
@@edyhekul The mountain I was referring to is called 水社大山. (Translate this webpage to get a basic idea: zh.wikipedia.org/zh-hans/%E6%B0%B4%E7%A4%BE%E5%A4%A7%E5%B1%B1). I was wondering if you’re using AllTrails. Download this app if you haven’t. Taiwan is home to 200+ mountains over 3,000 meters tall. If that sounds like a tall order. You can start by hiking in Yangmingshan (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yangmingshan) in Taipei. Have fun. BTW, I’m Tom. A Taiwan native who likes hiking in interesting places. This coming July I’ll be hiking in as many national parks in WA as I can (it’s winter, I’m aware). Anyways, enjoy your stay. Cheers.
I'm happy to hear that. Welcome to the channel, and thank you for your comment. I have travelled down the Southern Highlands a few times. However, I haven't done any hiking. Do you have any recommendations? 🥾🪨🐦🌱
Wow what an amazing place, love how I feel like I’m walking with you, it seems a bit dry through it, does it get a lot of rain in these areas, there would be many tales to tell if those rocks, boulders could talk. 🪨🦜🦎🧑🦳✅
Whilst the Grand Canyon in the good old 🇺🇸 may be larger. however ….. The Canyons of the Blue a mountains are 10x older. The rocks under the Blue Mtns are roughly about 470 million years old, Blue Mtns cover approx 11,400sq klm Blue Mtns National Park covers 2690 sq klm Highest elevation is Mt Werong at 1215m I believe the canyons and valleys of the Blue Mtns would be equally awesome if they were denuded with their rock formations and strata. Seeing as they are much older and have had time to grow vegetation, they have a beauty all their own, with many tracks and paths for everybody easy, moderate and active. Great place to visit for 2 or 3 days, too much to see and do all in one day, but if that’s all the time you have, start early and go for it.
Figures 8 pool is very beautiful! 😍 thank you to bring us with you and to show us your way through your camera. It’s like if we were there. And my favorite trick is teleportation, this is a very good idea😊 I’m loving it! I don’t need to go in Australia thanks to you
Yes, they are so beautiful! 888 Thank you so much for hiking along! 😃 And I'm glad to hear that you liked the teleportation 😆 it is such an easy way to get back to the station 😉
Curious, what cycling alerts did ppl use? For example, on your right, on your left? Or did they just call out “sumimasen”? Planning to do 2 days, as you did, with my son at the end of August; we’re both super excited! I had heard about the Tatara Bridge dragon roar - now I’ll know to look for the clappers!! Very kind of the oji-san to show you them! Thx for sharing a bit of your trip with us all!
Just a simple ring of the bell 🔔 That's so awesome! I'm excited for you - you'll love it! Yes, such a nice man. A moment I'll never forget 🐉 Thank you for watching! :) If you are curious about anything else, don't hesitate to reach out.
If im not mistaken the mountain ash is also the fastest growing of the gums. Something like 40m in the first 40 years. I've been to Dandenong ranges. I need to explore the Vic and nsw south coast more. I'm heading to capertee in a few weeks for a hike/camp at genowlan point with a detour to valley of dinosaurs and the ultimate slot. Stay tuned for a vid on my channel
Yeah, you're right! I read somewhere that the mature ones can even grow up to 2m per year in the right soil conditions? I'm keeping my eyes peeled for your next video mate!
Leaving a comment and a life to help you out mate :) I was down near Albany this weekend and visited the Tingle trees near Walpole. Have you ever been there? WA is well worth checking out.
Thank you for your support 🙏 That would have been incredible. I've only seen pictures of the Tingle Trees, and they look massive. How tall do they get? Getting over there to see them is definitely on the list!
You could always take the Short Circuit Track and at the Gorge Circuit Track instead of turning Left, Turn Right and follow the Gorge in the Opposite Direction that way you won’t miss out.
Luke, Your video (like so many others) has inspired me. Although I won't be hiking, I will attempt a run/jog along the national park here that has beautiful inter-water ways. I kayak them when my kayak is not broken. Your channel is "epic," which I believe is a term you guys use from Down Under. 😎 Thanks man.
Thank you for another kind comment. I'm happy to hear that you're feeling inspired! Enjoy the water - the sound of a running stream is so relaxing. Thanks for the epic status! 👊
Great to see a new video from you Luke. Can you recommend any short walks in the blue mountains? I'm travelling over from Perth and was hoping to spend a day there. The Blue Mountains seem like one of those things every Aussie should see once. I lived in Melbourne for a decade but most of my hikes were in the Dandenongs.
Thank you for your comment. It's great to hear that you're planning a day trip to the Blue Mountains. I'd be happy to suggest a few short walks: - Giant Stairway (from Echo Park)(1.8km - Moderate to Hard Difficulty) - Katoomba Cliff Circuit (1.8km - Easy) - Wentworth Falls Track (1.8km from Jamisons Lookout - Moderate). Hope this helps!
@@edyhekul well I only walked from the station directly to the sea before all those raised tracks had been built. It had been raining a lot and you only had to walk on the grass at the station to get one on you. Burning Palms had a particularly bad reputation. They were quite colourful with yellow stripes.
Beautiful place.Much different down in the valley as I've only looked from the top.Its looks like a rainforest absolutely beautiful,I was half expecting a Dinosaur to come out of the ferns. Great stuff i will have to do it.Thanks 👍
Hi Luke, I am a new subscriber and your videos are beautiful, calming, yet challenging. The latter makes me want to start hiking again. I chose this recent video to comment, but the "Hiking Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park" is what convinced me to subscribe. Thank You for your uploads. they mean a lot.
Thank you for your comment - I very much appreciate hearing from you. Glad to hear that you want to get out and hike again. Overcoming the challenge of a hike always feels so rewarding. Go get it! ✊️
@@edyhekul I appreciate your time in responding. I've been battling cancer for many years. I guess I'm "living with cancer" versus the alternative. Your videos inspire me. I can sitill hike, which is a blessing. However, I have to remember my hike is a round trip. If you get exhausted on the initial hike, please (I'm addressing the others like me) sit and take a break. What helps our mental well-being is that we hiked this much. If we have to sit and rest, it's not a negative. You''ve hiked......no matter how far. We can make our own goals.........specialized to our situation,
Yes, absolutely. There's a subway station located nearby to the park called Bukhansan Ui (북한산우이). A link can be found in the video description. Hope this helps!
