The factory handguard is way better than the Magpul one. The only things I upgraded on my A300UP are a Urbino pistol grip stock, 1301 adjustable rear sight, Nordic spring with their mag cap and clamp and of course 7 shell Esstac cards. Oh and a Streamlight Protac HLX light
I’ve had my 300 patrol for over a year and it’s great! Personally I never saw a need to change the charge handle from the factory one. Also I prefer the Esstac shell holders on Velcro, you can carry a few extras in your pocket if needed ! Only thing I replaced was the plastic mag tube cover and clamp with the aluminum one from GG & G, and a limbsaver recoil pad .
At 17:30 is it just me but there looks to be a awful gap in the front of the forend between the upper and lower portions of the handgaurd. Is something not seated or is this just the way it is?
I personally don't care for the side saddle and prefer the shotgun cards. I find when cleaning and removing the bolt assembly. When reassembling having the trigger out of the way is key to simplifying the procedure. With the side saddle I honestly would not want to keep removing the screw retaing it and the trigger. Plus you can carry multiple shots gun cards making them more efficient over a side saddle. Jmo
What is wrong with the way the gun comes out of the box? All that extra crap come lose after good usage. Grown people going for the okie doke is amazing to me
I was beyond excited to put a Briley handguard on my new A300 Patrol compliant model. Spent the money (it's not cheap), waited 2 weeks until it arrived...didn't fit properly. Went back and forth with Briley and they weren't even aware its incompatibility. Something with the shorter mag tube that prevents it from securely locking down, it would flail back and forth. It also doesn't fit flush with the receiver towards the top, looks sloppy. I was so bummed it didn't work out. To Briley's credit though, they didn't hassle me on the return at all. I wish it would have worked.
Looks like all these mods do is take money out of your pocket and puts it into someone else without any real advantage, if you want your gun to look “cooler” pony up the money and get a 1301 or m4, your friends your trying to impress will notice.
I would never use that side saddle, just slap on the velcro and use velcro cards to make for extremely easy swap outs to have extra ammo. Besides, installing it negates easy disassembly to clean the action!!! The heat shield is at best interesting and does have value, but once again easy disassembly for cleaning is now gone. One thing I noticed when he was pulling off the buttstock, I can see no reason that Magpul or other enterprise couldn't formulate a 'stock that would incorporate a pistol grip! It would be a part of the stock, not replace the section that houses the action, IMO. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong.
I agree. It seems like Magpul could pretty easily design a SGA style stock for the A300UP. I'd buy one in a heartbeat and so would a lot of other owners but maybe it's just not that profitable for Magpul to do. I have the Urbino on my SuperNova and it's not my favorite stock but it's better than the factory A300UP stock so I put one on that shotgun too.
I like the hand guard and heatshield, but I would skip the side saddle and go with a card because they're easily replaced and you can carry several extras
@@lathamwoodman5939 Self-cleaning gas system??? are you telling me I don't have to clean that piston cover in charcoal every time I go over 500 round? 🤨
Great tutorial on modding some GG&G parts for the A300. I'm curious why your customer would not replace the original polymer tube and pmount with the GG&G milled aluminum replacements? All the YT mods I've seen almost always say the polymer eventually slips, comes loose etc. and its a one of the essential replacements since Beretta kinda cheaped out on this end of the gun.
Agreed however just looking now. I believe beretta has redesigned the tube when they went to the two piece design. Almost looks like they have made a recess in the assembly so the cheesy factory clamp can't walk forward. As you mentioned the GG&G clamp and tube were my first mods.
@@vinniethewrench7603 I did remove the original clamp but I didn't replace it, after 500 rounds that day it didn't come loose, so I decided not to install the new one
I researched that very question. Because there is some mechanism for the action that goes into the stock, I don’t believe you can. Literally why I haven’t purchased this gun yet
@@Jason-eg4hr I bought one a couple months ago because I got a good deal on it at the pawn shop and it already had a buck kicker choke in it which is what I was gonna get anyway but I would really like to put a Magpul stock on it, the stock one isn't too bad but Magpul is so much better and what I have on all my other shotguns
@@Jason-eg4hr that and I really like the angle, it feels like a pistol grip almost but looks like a traditional stock, I also have a Ruger American ranch with a Magpul stock on it too I really wish someone would figure out some kind of adapter or something to be able to put it on a300
Speaking for myself, I much prefer the factory Beretta handguard with its rough texture. I have no desire to replace it with any other handguard. It looks cool, but I'm not about looking cool, more about function.
Hey, so I just purchased a Baretta a300 ultoma patrol and I love what I see you're doing.... Just curious what are the parts you're using and where can I get them?
@@moacustomfirearms8816really looks like the handgaurd assembly removal will be a pain in the ass for servicing purposes. I really like it but I shoot mine a bunch. I'm curious how many rounds you can push the gas assembly before it needs service. I know myself after 750 rounds of range slugs it was pretty fouled. I assume the barrel and handgaurd can removed as an assembly. Basically allowing cleaning brush access?
Damn every time I say I'm done spending money on guns for the year😂 whyyyyyyyyy did I have to see thisssss? I'm 2 boxes of bullets away from bankruptcy as it is 😅
One question I am fitting a new Wilson sear and hammer to my Springfield 1911 and I rack the slide back but the sear misses the full cock natch by thousand I just touch the hammer and it locks in seems like the sear is just a little bit to long i mic it from center of pin to tip of sear I get about .4025”
I’d rather get a pistol that great out of the box than spend more for less on a Prodigy . My choice is the Bul Tac pro 4.25 it cost a bit more but when you add up the accessories needed for the Springfield Bul is the best value and it shoots better than pistols costing a lot more.
@moacustomfirearms8816 True, I was just thinking it would be more reliable than having it pinned. Also, the flush fit of the safety to the grip will feel nice.
Now I wish I didn’t order that egw ignition kit. I didn’t see one listed on the atlas website, but I’m actually going to their store tomorrow. I should have waited.
Other than replacing...how do you suggest correcting the factory ambi safeties not moving in sync? Filing down? I feel right thumb activation works better than left....i am a lefty so that is an issue.
Same goes for refrigerator, and Band-aid, bud. It's called a genericized brand-name or colloquial eponym. It's used because it let's people get the point without saying more words.
Thanks so much for pointing out the idiocy. We’ll call the Prodigy a 1911DS henceforth since that’s what Springfield calls it. Now, I think I’ll go order some clips for a 2011 since they fit the 1911DS. Maybe I’ll order some bullets too. The internet never disappoints.
I am looking for a smith to do a build out for my Prodigy and noticed tour videos.do you have a website or do you do outside work for a potential customer? Thank you.
I’m sure there are a lot of things Atlas sells that they don’t manufacture, however, Atlas markets this as an Atlas ignition kit. I didn’t say they manufactured it. I’m sure Taran Tactical doesn’t manufacture their mag extensions. I’m sure Wilson Combat doesn’t manufacture their barrels. I’m sure a lot of companies don’t actually manufacture what they’re selling. You’d think a troll would know that.
Sorry to talk smack but my brand new prodigy is on its way back to the factory. Over eight failure to feed, thumb safety stuck twice and the slide would stick open. Definitely not a reliable gun.
That’s a shame to hear. I have about 2000 rounds through mine without any failures at all. I think this customer has over 1000. Hopefully Springfield gets you dialed in.
WOW! This is the best "show how it's done" video I've ever seen! I follow GunBlue490 (who is a trained armorer by Ruger and Smith & Wesson) as well as Mark Novak of Anvil fame; AND neither of those two men are slouches in the gunsmith arena. However, This man is running at their level, easy!! Thank you, MOA Custom Firearms. Regards, Matt of North Texas.
