Making theme park commentary videos with a focus on Universal Studios Orlando, Six Flags, Walt Disney World, as well as many other theme parks. If you want an honest, informed, and light-hearted take on the theme park industry, you've come to the right place.
Seriously? Being lore accurate is the least important thing in theme parks. I'd much rather have all of the iconic parts of the franchise in the land than have them excluded because it wasn't timeline/location accurate.
8:50 I'm more surprised the IP integration hasn't gone the other way around yet. With his popularity in the parks I'd expect a Figment movie to have been made already in the same vein as Pirates or Jungle Book.
34:30 Imagine if the Shrek part of the ride was just a parody of the Wizard of Oz section in Disney's movie ride. Include a similar set and have Shrek in the same place as the witch with the smoke and explosions, and have it then follow the scene of Shrek telling the fairy tale creatures to get out of his swamp. You get an iconic scene from the movie AND an homage/jab at the ride that inspired it all in one.
As a Brazilian I am totally biased but Brazil deserves to be in world showcase. They could have a ride based on Rio since now the film is owed by Disney and a restaurant with Brazilian food because it is delicious. And it can help more people know that Brazilians don’t speak Spanish! I would love if Peru got a ride but it’s because The Emperor’s new Groove is my absolute favorite Disney franchise with the movies and the tv show. We NEED an Yzma secret lab roller coaster ride, and they could even build a Mudka’s Meat Hut Express number 12 as a restaurant that serves Peruvian food. Where instead of bringing out bread to the table they bring out spinach puffs. And it would be great if the ride and restaurant had Easter eggs and nods to the tv series. Like seriously why is Angel the only character from a tv series that they went all out for to bring her out to the parks and in merchandise of every kind? It would also be really cool if Greece got a spot in world showcase where they could make a Hercules themed ride cause that film it very underrepresented in the parks or maybe just a meet and greet would be nice since we don’t see Hercules and Meg out and about in the parks very often.
I way prefer universal. I actually didn't even go to Disney the last time I went to Florida. DISNEY HAS BECOME WAY TO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT IT HAS TO OFFER
Hehe...Passport Bros & Cruise Ships influence some of those numbers. Greece & Brazil for sure. One interesting category would have been financing. Like who could Disney to pay for the pavilion.
Peru has a delicacy that is derived from a small animal. Might be hard to stomach in USA... Seriously, Peruvian or Poland would be the most contrast to existing foods in EPCOT
When I was looking at the temporary countries and saw Australia it hit me how weird it is there’s not any permanent Australia stuff in Epcot or Animal Kingdon considering they’re a whole continent, a lot of them speak English and they have a vibrant ecosystem and Canada shows they’re willing to acknowledge native native cultures (when they’re not in the USA which had 1 animatronic acknowledging them)
I could envision Universal bringing back Beetlejuice and Twister since both those IPs got long-awaited sequels this year. I think if they resurrect these rides to Epic Universe, then they should name the park Universal Legacy Island.
@DisneyParks if you care about your company and want to actually stay informed on REALITY, you will watch this video and LISTEN to what this man is saying because he couldn’t be more right, and you couldn’t be more wrong about this subject.

With Diagon Alley, Universal changed the game by creating the immersive land concept that Disney then copied for Galaxy's Edge. Epic is an entire park built on this concept. So far Disney has no answer to this besides a couple of updates to existing venues and shoehorning the Cars IP into MK Frontierland by destroying Rivers of America and Tom Sawyers Island.
They should add isreal, they won’t win any sporting Olympics, but they have like 50% of all Nobel Peace Prizes and medical inventions. Also is the oldest nation with a history going back 3200 years in Judah and Samaria.
Comcast has not announced nor commenced construction on any new, major attractions at either USF or IOA. Epic will impact attendance at IOA and USF as much as it will on the WDW parks.
45:34-45:39 What about Rio? Isn’t that a Disney movie now, because of the Fox acquisition (which included Blue Sky Studios, who made that film)? That movie is set in Brazil. Surely, they could do something with that, right?
my king, i always thought you were one of the most entertaining theme park video essay youtubers but this video set a whole new bar for me. This video idea is unique, informative, and so so fun! It ties into the idea that I can learn so much about different topics through having a passion for theme parks. Well done, your channel is amazing 🩷 also your voice has so much personality and i feel like im listening to a friend ranting on the phone about cool stuff on the phone and im always so engaged! You’ve also made me think about theme parks in a whole new light even though i’ve been a fan for so long. Never stop aaaannndddd i think a theme park should hire you 😂
Thailand should've gotten more points in attraction potential and in general I think when they do the expansion India and Thailand are probably gonna be very high on the list, Raya still has some value there for ride potential. More than Wish anyway, being an action movie. Greece after going through all this I can totally see them being added too. Spain feels very redundant so I know they were gonna be added but I'm not seeing it. This was was super fun!
It was one of my dreams to have a Colombia Pavilion at Epcot and have an Encanto ride as opposed to a "Tropical Americas" themed land in Animal Kingdom. But I'll take it. Besides all that, you can still do an infinite amount of things with Colombian culture. There's so much music, color, natural beauty, different foods depending on each department, accents, folklore and fashion. You can have a gorgeous chiva bus parked in one side with native fruits hanging around it and then a few Colombian-style Willys (Jeep) parked on the other with bags of coffee beans on top. Two different restaurants across from each other with one serving coastal Caribbean foods like coconut rice and fried fish, arepa de huevo, enyucado, limonada de coco, etc.etc. and the other serving cuisine from the Antioquia region like Bandeja Paisa, Patacones, Migado, etc.etc. and I mean; you can even include foods from different districts of the country like Ajiaco (Cundinamarca) or Chuleta Valluna (Valle Del Cauca). Have a fruit juice stand that serves lulo juice, maracuya juice, borojo juice, aguapanela tea, guanabana juice, etc.etc. But even better actually, switch one of the restaurants with a Colombian bakery that serves their famous Colombian Empanadas and Colombian Buñuelos as well as pandebono (won greatest bread in the world), pan de yuca, arepas con queso, arepas de choclo, Colombian chorizo, morcilla, chicharron, manjar blanco etc.etc. along with bagged snacks like their Cheetos Horneados and Caleñitas or Jet chocolate and Chocoramo. The same bakery can serve Colombian coffee or Hot Chocolate with Cheese. Huy, papa! There could easily be shops selling artisanal products as souvenirs like the wayuu mochila, ruanas, aguadeños, vueltiao hats, abarcas trespuntas and just a whole bunch of endless Colombian arts and craft along with typical Disney-fied goodies of course; like mugs or Botero-inspired posters and I promise you a shop like this would have SO much color. They can use El Peñón de Guatapé as the backdrop/landmark of the Pavilion with mainly Salento or Cartagena architecture on the sides. Oooph. When it comes to music, there'll be Vallenato, Salsa, Champeta, Cumbia playing in the background. You can even have traditional dancers with their pollera colora or general valledupar outfit. Dudes with vueltiao hats playing the Colombian-style accordion or groups of men freestyling/battling it out live in a trova competition would be spectacular bonuses. And with all of Colombia's history, good and bad, you can include books (Including Gabriel Garcia Marquez) or a presentation demonstrating tons of the Country's past, present, future and megadiverse nature. Tourism is enormous today. Thanks to Encanto too. And I believe it'll only increase from here on out. Sigh. I know. I digress. I just had it all planned out in my heard pretending as if I was somehow in charge of arranging ideas. 🇨🇴 😮💨 A man can dream though. I didn't finish watching the video but if I had to choose a Nation besides Colombia, I'd select Peru. You can do SO much with something as great as Machu Pichu and Inca culture as well as their cuisine such as ceviche and lomo saltado.
Peru is considered the best cuisine in the world. And Brazil has Jose Carioca, from Rio de Janeiro. Carioca is literally the translation of "from Rio de Janeiro".
Call me a universal believer because I love both resorts but Universal is going to close that gap even more and I’ll be a part of those attendance numbers
2:35 Spain in 5 as a nice segway between France and Morocco. Either Korea, Thailand, Philippines, or Vietnam in 4 as the same between Japan and America. Brazil in 3 because I woukd rather have their food than the German toy train. In 1 and 2 an African country Egypt was mentioned in the video but I think Ethiopia is a great choice because they have a great food scene and a long history. Definitely a ride in that pavilion.
Personally I would like to see a russian pavilion, Eastern Europe is an interesting and is a very unique place. Not to mention as of right now eastern europe has no representation, so a russia pavilion would fill in a nice gap. (not to mention its lush culture and architecture)
You should do a "second chance" event where you run a similar gauntlet for all of the losing countries, but this time all of the existing pavilions also have to compete to keep their spots. Let's see if the Imagineers and the EWSC are on the same page.
That would be interesting! I would guess most of the existing pavilions would perform well (with the probable exception of Morocco), but if any of them did falter... oh boy
The system is flawed. Proximity should be from the US itself, not another Epcot showcase pavilion country. Cause most Americans don’t know world geography and it is an American theme park with its bread and butter coming internally. Therefore your numbers would be different. Also places 4-21 shouldn’t get points. That’s not how the olympics works.
