Whats up DMV'ers! On today's adventures we travel all over DC, Maryland, Virginia and beyond to find the coolest restaurants, shops, parks, breweries, events and so much more. From the Nats World Series run, to a train trip all the way across the country, to the hottest new restaurants in the area, come and have some fun! Most of the things on this channel are centered around my job at Fire Toga which involves mostly working as a real estate photographer, but as you may have guessed my specialty is videos. So one cool thing you get to see every once in a while is the inside of a cool new home or the preview of a Fire Toga video as I travel all over the area for work, and set aside a few hours to explore! The Cringe Is Strong on this channel...
Lol I got in a car accident in this parking lot. And the other owner of the other car drove off….😅I was going to go to the sushi I bar with my sister. Ended up just going home that day I need to go and try to go eat here again . 😂
@@DMVAdventures lol my sister has been there a lot cause she works at a building that’s on the same side of the rode but across from the metro so instead of making that right at the intersection to get to this parking lot you jsut went straight die. The roads a little passed the hotel back there 😂 ima def try again I ma drive again too I love like not far so it’s be weird to go to the metro
I'm not sure this video was many years ago. This was actually the only time I've ever been to Kensington, so my memory is a little hazy. I remember it being by a bunch of antique shops and next to a bakery.
I think if you would’ve take the video at a different angle, you could make it look like you’re giving him a high-fives! I’ll be out here in the DMV doing some work for two weeks. Definitely giving this spot a try!
I just came from Chicago several days ago and it was great. I got to attend games at both Guaranteed Rate Field and Wrigley Field, went to NBC Tower where infamous shows such as the Jenny Jones Show and The Jerry Springer Show were recorded at, saw the Magnificent Mile, went through Soldier Field, had deep dish pizza and Italian beef at Giordano's, climbed Willis Tower, visited Grant Park, saw Buckingham Fountain both day and night, went to the Navy Pier and rode the Centennial Wheel, rode the 146 bus and saw the choppy waters of Lake Michigan, rode the subway, and saw the Chicago Water Tower. I had a blast and will visit again.
I remember when I first moved to DC after college with some high school friends, we used to go to the Tombs. It is a must visit iconic bar of the DMV! One of those friends and I were just talking about the Tombs a few weeks ago, going to have to make my way back there again!
It is a good place. The location isn't amazing because you have to walk up all the hills and it isn't near a metro. And it gets hot and loud down there. But it is my goto spot in G-town
This is a great spot and it is off the beaten path of the fast paced high end georgetown crowd. It is well worth walking up the hills to find if you are looking for a really cool non-pretentious georgetown and DC experience. I think my dad used to go here in like the 70's that is how old this place is. I've been here a few times over the last 20 years too.
That was my first trip to Chicago, that I did a video about. The layover before the train to Denver. Most people just stayed in the lounge, I walked all over.
It looked like a super fun trip. Chicago is probably America's most chill big city. You can actually talk to people in public and be yourself without worrying about being a tourist.
Full transparency even so, I booked my “Train ride” from Paris to London and paid nowhere near 300. They served lunch plus, snacks ,and complimentary champagne. Unfortunately,I was not able to enjoy bc I had the worst toothache of my life. Thank you for the video, I believe in America were should invest in our infrastructure particularly in the northeast but still have a lot of categorizes to improve on.
We have both done many of the same things, that is why I watch your videos. I haven't tried Banh Mi DC, BUT, I go to the Pho 75, right behind you in the video, there a lot! I will definitely try Banh Mi, but if you haven't tried it, definitely go to the Pho 75. It is cash only, but is the absolute best and authentic Pho in the area. The line is usually long, but goes very quickly, they are very efficient. You will not be disappointed with the Pho at Pho 75, we go there a few times a month lately!
@@DMVAdventures when you do have Pho, the Pho 75 in that shopping center is the best Fun fact, the number in the restaurant name is the year the family that started the restaurant came to America, so Pho 75 would be 1975. My wife is Chinese, but... She could do the video and fake being Vietnamese, lol, jk. We enjoy your videos, keep them coming, and hopefully your channel goes viral soon.
I remember the days when I did the ultimate banh mi taste test. Love banh mi dc but I love ba Le friends bakery better which is just up the street from banh mi dc. Ha! The war of the banh mi’s. Nice video!
Normally I don't say "The Best" only like 5 spots get that from me. But after this video I have a list of places to go and the bakery one came up a few times. So I'll def be trying it.
I didn't see that or really pay attention. I usually have only 1 thing on my mind, getting my sandwich, lol. I've actually never even read the rest of the menu or looked around the place.
I've def passed it a lot, may have tried it a long time ago or actually is there a pizza place or something above it. May have chosen the top floor. I'll keep that in mind. I count Georgetown as Virginia as I usually park in VA to go there, so that is a place in DC I find myself often.
Been there a few times in the last few decades, sadly it is achieving hasbeen status now. I can't recall if I have been after the pandemic, but the last few times I was there it was just ok. Too many competitors nowadays. YMMV.
Bunch of classics fell apart during pandemic. Ciao in Centreville, Melt in Leesburg. People told me they recovered but I don't believe them, lol. Could have been similar with this place because I did have 1 bad experience at Banh Mi DC at some point recently and hadn't been back in a while. But I pretty much forgot about that one after having it again. The bread is so much better than every other place I've been too. I will note there was ZERO line here this time. I go at off-lunch hours but still I feel like usually has more people even at off hours.
A few other banh mi spots that I enjoy. Megabytes Eatery in Chantilly, Nhu Lan (best value) in Eden Center, The Mixx Delight (unique panini style), and Sandwich Republic in Springfield (only have it 1 day a week). There are many good delis as well, but nobody has bread like this place, and the combo of these ingredients destroys a typical sandwich.
I'll have to check it out, looks legit from the photos. The key for me will be the bread. I've had other good banh mi, but never found someplace with the same type of bread.
Not yet yet, Alexandria is one of my weak spots. I’ve got a lot of places in that area. I’ve got to get to. Breakfast is also another week spot, but I will keep this place in mind.
Very interesting. I've never splurged for first class on any travel as I don't think it's ever worth it. I don't drink alcohol so even that isn't a selling point! I'm travelling across Canada (4 nights/ 110+ hours) on the train in November in 'Sleeper Class' which includes meals.
Regular Train not worth it (I got the free upgrade) but Sleeper car is technically first class and is totally worth it. You will love it. I only did US Sleeper but I heard Canada is the best.
Aslin Brewery in Herndon has an interesting breakfast joint. Called Izzi. Their OG breakfast sandwich has; scrambled eggs, Smoked Salmon, Bacon, Sausage, Cooper American cheese, Chive cream cheese. They serve pizza at later hours.
