I’ve got a custom made 338-06 built on a commercial 98 Mauser. It shoots a 250gr at 2660fps and a 200gr at 3000fps all verified by several chronographs. I’ve used it to take Yukon moose 🫎 black bears and a grizzly. It’s been my go to rifle for almost 20 years.

I picked up some 07s for a 66 no such luck. Your floor is flat more like a late model . Mine has @ 5 inch hump from side to side under the seat . The back of 07 buckets is more than midway up the window top of the headrest about 3 inches from the headliner.

Just found your vids so I’m starting with week one. I have a ‘53 F100 project. All original except for motor may have been replaced at some point in its life by a 223 I6. Not sure if I want to bring it to life as a rusty runner/weekend drive or take it full resto-mod like yours. Either way, any info on finding a water pump for a 223 I6? Mine has the mounted pulley, not bolt-on fan module.

You have to do what you believe is the best your vision and you budget. I have always built up starting with a good cab and body panels. I do like the rustic look sanded with 320 and sprayed with clear coat. Thanks for watching..stay tuned.

In 2018, I had a plains game hunt planned for Botswana and I did not have a rifle suitable to hunt with. I knew of Cooper from various gun magazine articles, so I contacted the company to discuss my plans and to see if they had the 338-06 A-Square round that I was very interested in. The people at Cooper were nothing short of superb!!! They were so very helpful, knowledgaeble and friendly that choosing their Excalibur rifle in the round of my choice was simple. Long story short, I used a 225 grain Swift A-Frame bullet for my hunt and after speaking with people at Swift, they told me how to load their bullets correctly. I took a 59 1/2" kudu with a 40" spread, a waterbuck with a 31 1/2" length and a 30" spread, a 24" hartebeest with a length of 24" and an eland with a horn length of 34 1/2 " and weighing an estimated 2,000 pounds. A spectacular hunt ... all done with merely a "Starting Load" for the cartridge. Yes, I went to Africa to hunt with a load that I could easily have stepped the power up on, but ... the starting load put the Swift bullets in less than 1/2" at 100 yards. I will always take precision over horsepower. Good luck to you all !!!

Been there , done that 12 years ago , one step at a time . Long journey, worth it at the finish line ! My" 54 " host a internally balanced 5.0 coyote, 6 speed , bell housing alignment, double clutch disc, Dana 44 , independent on all corners with 13 " discs . Lexus A/C under the seat . Over the past 12 years she has motored me over 318,000 uneventful miles . I've replaced 1 alternator, 2 sets of brake pads , 4 sets of spark plugs , 2 sets of plug wires , 3 sets of tires , 2 windshields, 1 window regulator, meticulous maintenance. ( Driven oil ) engine , ( royal purple ) trans & rear end . I drive it everyday on the California freeways smoothly with effortless ease . Make no mistake I'm 80 years old and we both have a few body flaws these days . Where I go ... she goes . I'm impressed with your craftmanship. I wish you both the best years ahead !! If I my make a suggestion, there is a better medal bonding material available by FUSOR instead of JB-WELD . PS...I HAVE SUBSCRIBED

I found your RU-vid videos and really enjoyed them. Great work for sure... just wondering what radiator you used for the truck. I'm redoing a 51 Ford with a 351 Windsor motor with a c4 transmission. Keep up the great work and videos. Thanks
@texaslonghorn2792
@texaslonghorn2792 Год назад
The radiator came from Mid Fifties. I will be changing it in the future to one that has more cores and is taller. The company that made the radiator is US Radiator. If I was to buy a radiator again I would call them and have the radiator made custom to the application. Thanks for watching. I will start posting again this summer.

I have arctic version of the Webasto model DBW2010.74 in Marathon Coach #1085, 2008 Marathon, 2006/7 Prevost chassis. The Webasto suddenly quit heating a few days ago and started to drip raw fuel out the exhaust pipe. I am third owner of coach...in checking the heater, it is obvious it has never been maintained. It tries to light off and does a puff-puff-puff for a while but finally quits trying, only the motor continues to run. The ignition is sparking. Likely the nozzle is corrupted. The heater worked great when it was operable. Any ideas to try first?
@texaslonghorn2792
@texaslonghorn2792 Год назад
Have it serviced by Marathon or Prevost. There are only a few thiings that could be wrong. The spacing of your ignitor tips is one. A dirty nozzle another. If its clicking it's getting spark.

Nice job on the reloads! I do a lot of 30'06 reloading and I'm familiar with the .338 cartridge, but never realized some have necked the 06 up to receive the larger bullet. Very interesting. This should be a great deer and hog gun!

Hello Sir just came across your channel i noticed you have long self tapping screws exposed in the firewall where the steering column cover is cant you use some nice stainless hex head screws or bolts that sit flush and also wont tear skin off your hands near the steering trans linkages otherwise beautiful very tasteful love the fact you used a Ford engine not Chev S***
