Would love to see an update on this pair of boots. I Just put an order in a week or 2 ago with nicks in natural dublin! Cant wait to smell them in person.😂
Luos Jiet is XBXS and XBXS is Luos Jiet. Two names, one factory, one company. I have a couple pairs of their stuff that I've bought in China: A pair of derbies and boondockers. They're pretty good looking but the one Achilles' heel of this brand which almost all of the long-term reviews raise is the squeak. They don't do anything to stop squeak and virtually everything is going to start squeaking eventually if it doesn't do so right out of the box. Decent value otherwise, though, especially if you get their seconds.
I used to live in the Gallun building (beautiful building by the way and the halls are decorated with old Gallun advertisements). Ever since Ed revived the Gallun brand I’ve been looking for a boot with his leather. When I got the email from Grant stone I instantly bought the black waxy stag brass boot. Can’t wait to get it delivered!
My cognac pair have basically no grain but the leather is still nice. Felt a little misleading but pretty much the only heavy weight horse hide I’ve see 🤷♂️
I hope Gallun makes a resurgence. I remember the first time I saw Oak Street's boar boot, I spent near 15 minutes just looking at the details that were in the leather. This horserump on the Truman are absolutely stunning. The picture of it on the Truman site does not do this leather justice based on what you have shown. It makes me want to allocate a budget for a pair of horserump. I've only heard they are a challenge to break in, and heard Maryam can feel like stiff boards.
I bought a pair due to the look of the leather. The deep striations really caught my attention. But when I received my pair I was a bit disappointed because the leather was pretty much smooth all around. The feature that pushed me to buy was not there. I could have returned them but they are still a beautiful pair of boots. Tough break in though 👍
I am wearing the cognac horse rump variant right now. They’re pretty insane. My pair has almost zero pebbling, but I kind of like it that way. My first pair of horse leather boots. They are very different than cow hide. It’s almost like a hard, malleable plastic that softens with the warmth of of your feet and then molds to its forever shape. Incredible.
I at least ordered the Black Cherry Bison, but regret not getting this one. Partly, I confess, the website photos didn’t do this makeup justice. Seeing them here I’m shaking my head. Thanks for your videos Dale!
Where can you find the year of production every pair of Viberg boots , is it will be on the box or inside of the boot ( like for example Nicks do just inside the boot). Thank You in advance for the answer. And this pair is absolutely gorgeous 👌👌👍👍🥾
Absolutely outstanding new look of iron ranger, it’s a next level of dimension! I would definitely would like to upgrade my own rangers with this new sole! Awesome work!👌👍👊🏻👊🏻
Thank you for all your review, I have become a fan because of your introductory to Truman, ps beautiful boot. That stone rambler was my first truman, still my top 1/11 truman. I love the coach but have not pull the trigger. I am intrigued with cognac Teton. How well does the leather form to your foot?
Hi Dale have you seen the new Viberg boots ready for pre-order? They are a Hatch grain dark cognac shell cordovan in both the 2030 and 2040 last? If you have what do you think?
How long had you had these at the point you made this video? Great looking boots, thanks for the vid! I'm looking for a pair of indy's in snuff suede and was wondering how durable the leather is.
The leather is top notch. The jacket company aero is terrible. They used to be ok but they have slipped and truly do not care about the customers. Very bad experience with them. Their founder lies and lies. Not to be trusted.
Oh I forgot to leave the sizing comment for oakstreets since I have two in different sizes that I can wear both. I should be size 7.5 TTS (never had brannock done, but just based on all my other shoes), I have a trench in size 7 and a field boot in 7.5. The size 7 fits me, but it is snug enough to disallow full toe splaying especially around the pinky toe area. The size 7.5 fits me and is snug on heel and ball, but allows full toe splaying. TTS would be a more practical fit, but half down works if you're after a more dressy fit. It should be also noted that the field boot has a different structured toe box compared to the trench boot in that it has a larger volume toe box. Length wise, there's a difference of around 1/2 inch between the two sizes but both sizes did leave my big toe with enough room (half inch in size 7, 1+ inch in size 7.5)
Bought the black LJ. Hate them. They cut my shins so bad as they are hard as stone. I emailed the company for advice. They replied with “wear 3-4 pairs of socks until they feel better.” They are also easily a size and a half too large. I went down half size and can’t keep them tied as they are just too big. All solvable but realized I got what I paid for.
I can't believe that Truman's sizing advice can work for anyone. I just visited the factory and I fit in a half size *above* Brannock. Having said that, now that I know my size, I'm looking forward to getting a pair eventually.
Great video Dale, I have this jacket and like yourself I also like the military look . I have a cool jacket called the interval PD jacket from Triple Aught Design I have the Selvedge denim version but they also have a waxed canvas version . It’s a uniquely cool jacket if you get a chance check it out and if you can do a video on it that would be cool too 👍🏼
@@DalesLeatherworks I have been watching your videos for years all great content… but the jacket like I said is military looking piece it’s really nice in the denim styles. I didn’t buy the waxed version because I have a few waxed jackets and it’s look is similar to Selvedge denim jacket. They don’t have reviews out there on this product . TAD has like an introductory review but not much else out there other than that
