From the Kittinger balloon story thru to the tampon chat, I couldn't stop laughing. It was all funny, but got a little unhinged in a good way towards the end. Thanks for the laughs, you pretty little things.
Apparently I’m one of the handful of people in the middle of the Venn diagram between Handsome Pod fans and Yugioh/Pokemon nerds. But when you grow up gay and closeted, you need something to occupy your time waiting for high school to be over.
That scene in the movie 50/50 when Joseph Gordon Levitt is going into surgery to get his tumors removed…he’s crying saying I don’t want to die…gets me every time 😭😭😭
I’m cracking up because I heard “ficus” too and I was like NOBODY IS GOING TO SAY ANYTHING? Then you did…. And I was like yeeeah okay still on the same wavelength cool haha …. Ficus. So silly
As much as I desperately want Tig’s advice on a plant-based diet, the influential moment must go to her and her Stephanie’s parenting of those little scamps. Max and Finn’s preciousness and precocity is due entirely to their mothers’ unique influence, I’m certain.
Mae, I’m Autistic and ADHD and I’ve assumed you were also one or both since I first knew who you were. I think if you looked into how adults actually describe their experiences being autistic you’d find a lot to relate to. It took me years to finally look into it (mainly to prove people wrong, because I was convinced I was only ADHD) and once I finally did it was like someone handed me the missing manual for how my brain and body work. I’d highly recommend looking into it. Also, there are tests for high-masking autistics (the ones most likely to be missed until adulthood) that are super insightful.
My husband and I just adopted a little dog from the shelter. She has really bad separation anxiety, but if I play the handsome pod for her while I'm gone, she will relax and lay down for a nap. I just had to thank you all for what your podcast does for me and now, for my little dog. Much love ❤-A
So, yesterday when I was driving to my job as a therapist and mental health trainer, I chose to listen to the podcast because I knew I would be having a serious day. It was the one with Courtney Cox about putting yourself first, and it was so timely for me and my clients who I tell to listen every chance they get. Tig's story about her friend was so right on. I do have one question , though: when is the "Just Eat My Ass" t-shirt coming out?
This is something actors talk about. If you watch any of those THR drama actresses roundtables, Nicole Kidman talks about it. How her body took a minute to recover after filming some intense scenes during Big Little Lies. I think Sarah Paulson has also talked about similar stuff in another one of those roundtables. Yeah, I watched a bunch of them.
Tig, Mae did a horrible job describing Survivor and how they eat! 😂😂 They get rice/beans as a staple and then have opportunities to get other food throughout, as prizes. They also can eat local fruits/veggies and can fish. Some seasons get chickens for eggs/meat. It's not just occasional "nachos". 😂😂😂
I've been on the streets in Venice Beach (I think that's what she was referring) in my 20s (I'm now 42 😵💫) and they for sure had drum circles every night on the beach side by the bonfires ... and passed around druggos of which I never pertaked 🤭 but it was for sure a "family" type vibe ...... I'd end up grabbing a drum and showed my stuff when things would chill... so comfy and relaxing!
