I am Casper, a Singapore-based tarot practitioner, feng shui enthusiast, and wannabe witch. Things I study include the tarot, the I Ching and both western and eastern astrology. I plan to share on divination and the woo on my RU-vid channel! :)

Be forewarned! This is a highly androgynous deck to work with. It has very little, if anything, to do with conventional masculinity, so if you're looking for that, you're going to be very disappointed. Most of the deck seems to be night cards or in heavily shaded areas. I find this to be kind of annoying when doing a reading. What's with all the darkness? The deck does seem to have enough symbolism to it that you can draw from intuitively. So it's not a wash. The little white booklet that came with it is useless. Not a bad deck to have, but it's going to take some time to get into it. I can see some good things coming from this deck.
hehe you can use the guidebook to try out with your mandarin :P I actually like good borders in tarot cards, although people tend to like borderless art; reminds me that tarot is still a "game of life". I also like the Magician :P
What a coincidence, I also bought Windmill Flag Tarot last week. 😆😆😆 I like the style of this tarot. Unfortunately, the limited edition of this tarot is no longer available.🥲🥲
I got the boardgame version of this a few years ago. I paid about €80 for it and the box was beautiful but the quality of the cards were really bad. Playing card size, no guilding and very difficult to make out the numbers and artwork on many of the cards (very washed out colouring but maybe that was the style they were going for?)
Any chance u can talk about the spells within the book? I love decks that are more practical but not too complicated. There aren’t much reviews on RU-vid except about 2-3 ppl.
Thank you! People don’t realize how hand/card size affects the shuffling of a tarot deck. My Angel Wisdom tarot deck is HUGE, and it is very challenging to shuffle. I simply can’t riffle shuffle the entire deck.
Hi there! 5 years later, but I just saw your video! Thank you for this direction of reading the Chinese tarot deck. I wanted to share my interpretation of the Swords - to me it’s more like moves from QiGong, might be combined with martial arts. The air around is the force that is created when you practice QiGong😊
For the phrase in the Five of Swords: "Vincit qui se vincit" means "He who conquers himself, conquers" (= you will have success if you're able to keep discipline over yourself). It's part of a slightly longer quote, "Bis vincit qui se vincit in victoria", which means "He who conquers himself during a victory, wins twice" (= if you're victorious, it's better to keep your feelings under control, don't be a d*ck about it), which I think fits very well in the Five of Swords :D
How I remembered the runes are quite different from "keywords"; I tend to remember them as pictures. So keywords are quite limiting to me in this case. I will stick to the set I have haha!
Wait a minute: 'Gypsy' is a racial slur, but 'this guy looks Skeevy' isn't? He's dressed in traditional Roma attire, and is Roma. Heheh, what an age we live in There is no more context Really lovely deck, did you see that Bicycle put out a new edition of the Lenormand? The deck is known as the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling deck :D
Yes, and the lady I chose is Roma clothed hahaha I just followed what I liked aesthetically. Did I really say “skeevy”? 💀💀 I will check out that lenormand deck thanks for sharing Jack!! I wouldn’t have known by its name that it was lenormand.
The name seems... strange, lol: Runic ODYSSEY? Why not Runic Saga? That'd be more thematic. I mean, I guess the Aesir came from the East, but they came from India, not Greece. I dunno, slightly distracting.
Yes, modern and traditional at the same time! Glad you enjoyed :P Benzaiten is linked to Sarawasti (Hindu goddess of arts and learning). "Ten" is Japanese for "sky" or "heavens". "Daikokuten" is linked to Shiva (so is wealth related). My own favourite from this pantheon would be Fudō Myōō, or Acala :P
I’m so glad to see this one! I haven’t watched any other walk-throughs of it and wasn’t sure I’d vibe with it, but I really do. It’s stunning. I tend to prefer working with deity decks where I have more of a direct connection to the lineage, but I recognize that many of these are the same deities in Japanese. A bosatsu is a bodhisattva, by the way. That’s the only word I definitely recognized. I hope you enjoy the deck!
It’s really so pretty and I enjoy the guidebook. However like you I’m not super sure on working with deity decks when I don’t know them well - I have to lean hard on the guidebook here. Thanks for enlightening me on the term Bosatsu 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I deeply appreciate you Natalie
@dannyjay7426 apologies I don’t have the two you specified but I have done reviews on olden day decks - I will share with you the names once I recall so you can find it :)
I didn’t think twice about this deck until I got to flip through some cards in a local tarot shop. WOW! Immediately brought home with me, and I’ve been using it with almost every tarot reading since. So many expansive keywords, and they’re so neutral - i can easily read most, if not all, of them as positive or negative. And the illustrations! And the poems! Absolutely a standout deck.
Oh this is cool! It reminds me of Sibillla. When I read the widower card in that system, I think of it has someone losing something important. So I kind of make it generic. But it might not mean someone has lost a lover, just that they’ve lost something important.
Totally similar to Sibilla - so I’m not surprised when I’m finding hard to read because I’ve looked at that system and decided not to pick itnup. I do agree with your interpretation for Widower. It’s just difficult when I see people in this deck (widow VS widower). It has that old timey feel of gender so it’s hard sometimes to apply it to the person who wanted the reading. I super appreciate your advice!!
hey casper! lovely to see you again 💗 i totally agree, this deck is sooo good - well rounded and such a clear and capable reader! i also have the first edition and have the notch along the top of all of my cards! i like the feel of the cards, and i think i prefer not to have gilding as i like a more natural feeling for this style of art. but i do wish it shuffled better! also i really like the way you read the cards as you went through them, it really showed the flow and ease with which it can be read while showing a lil of your style. thanks for sharing! 🌀✨
Thanks my friend ❤️❤️ I love the cards and no gilding but the second edition is 100% more shufflable so I kind of wish I got that instead. Appreciate your support :)
Is it, though? Isn't really in the UK. Also, you gotta understand context. This is an artistic work, and it is important to understand it as such. Artists can and should be allowed to say and do things which non-artists cannot, artistic freedom is important. If anybody is worried about the term, there are plenty of articles written by the UK government itself, might be an idea to skim those.
Hi again, Casper! 👋 It’s sooo good to see you! I understand all the stuff with work, etc. life takes over for sure. This is a deck I’ve been looking at for a long, long time. 👀 It’s SOOO beautiful. I’d love to have it. I’d mix the expansion cards in to make a minchiate deck. You could use one of the astrological cards as a signifier as well. If you try mixing and you hate it, you could always take them back out. They’re great for spreads looking at timing or influences. So glad you’re enjoying this deck! ❤️🙏🌺🌷🪻🌻
You’re absolutely right - I lost the term when I was going through the deck. Minchiate!!! I’ll try mixing it up based on your advice thank you hehehe and I’ll see how I read with them in.
Hey, Casper! It’s so good to see you again! I know you put out a few more videos recently and I am eager to see those, too. Beautiful deck & concept, but yes, very expensive. Such a helpful walkthrough. Thank you! 🙏 ❤🌸🌼🌻🪻🌺🌷
