I see so many RU-vidrs come a cropper when "upgrading to LEDs" in either their working or filming space becuse they can cause flashing or strobing in the resulting video(s) that are unwatchable. The common point of failers are cheap LED lights from Amazon even when they say they are filming-friendly with the next tier up in pricing. If you need any help my dad is an electroengineer and worked on films as well as being an electrician
I've actually used me wee Singer screwdriver that came with the sewing machine, fits a lot of those smaller screws almost perfect.....but there's no torque
Adding cheap led lights to the ceiling was a game changer in terms of volume of light flooding the workspace. But I always use a worklight on the bench to distinguish knife lines and pencil marks.
The biggest improvement to the lighting I could suggest would be two coats (after a mist coat) of white emulsion on the plasterboard ceiling. This would give a much more even light in the whole workshop. Maybe the walls that are in bare board too. Nice if we could leave the stone work natural though.
Ohhhh so this is what happened to Smee after he got off Cap'n Hook's ship and made off with some treasure! Figures he got into woodworking, considering all that time on a ship! Silliness aside, i have no idea what was being said but i love that he looks like he's enjoying himself.
Thought I'd let you know, I've been getting my record 6 back into working order, and inspired by you i decided to make new tote and knob for it. You knob shape (🤭) is so much more comfortable to get a grip on, i love it. Took me 3 attempts to get tote shape that im happy with. I got big hands so mad it generally bigger but waisted/reduced in the pinky finger area. Im very happy with the results so thank you for the inspiration. Just 6 more planes to modify now. 😊
When setting the tension use your liver hole 🕳 rather than pushing down the cap leaver plus save your wrists especially if you suffer carpal tunnel..... it's hook shaped slips on off dude
We take this simple tool for granted but it really is a design icon. Can you imagine back when everyone had their wooden planes, probable made by themselves as apprentices. Then these metal planes arrived with unbelievable precision adjustment. The design was so good, it has barely changed in over 100 years.
