Thank you so much for @trenchbuilder for coming out with us! it was a lot of fun and can't wait to do more with him. Go check out his channel, link is in the description.
It was just filler footage since I couldn't find First ID urban combat footage. They did fight in Saigon during the Tet Offensive but I couldn't find any footage.
@@bentleyhiben2979 I’m not the most knowledgeable on helicopter crews but I do know all Mg gunners had 1911s as side arms, as for the knife that is something I do not know.
Awesome impression man. I'm planning on doing 1st ID as well. I got some gear a couple days ago, alot actually, Most of the webgear i would need. I will do a setup video probably this weekend.
Also I got a 69' dated 3rd pattern jungle fatigue top with a national guard patch so you reckon that was added post war by someone in the national guard or did they use them?
Hey! I'm starting my own Vietnam War US Army Impression currently and have a few questions as I'm new to the hobby. I would like to do 1st Infantry Division and not sure what period of the war currently but probably mid war like 67-69' however, i don't know what equipment would be needed as much. I know the fatigues needed and the headgear as well as a few other things but did the 1st ID ever use buttpacks and if so when during the war was it most commen to be seen? Did the 1st ID use bandoliers only at any stage of the war rather than M56 pouches? And lastly, what was a common 1st ID buttpack setup. I'm really sorry for asking so many questions but i really want this impression to look good and asking alot of people in the vietnam reenacting community is helping so much😅
That’s awesome man! So buttpacks can be see almost through the whole war, however they’re more prevalent early war 65-67, you can see buttpacks used with rucksacks though. Bandoliers were really common but if you’re doing basic infantry keep the M56 equipment. They loaded their Buttpacks, according to what I know. Pepsi Boy has a good video on that. And welcome to the Nam reenactment community!
