Scam. BS. Snake oil. If you really do some scientific tests, you’ll will measure no or audio-wise insignificant differences between and a hyped BS switch and a 15,00 Dollar one. It’s all about human psychology. The ones who bought such a BS device will always defend their purchase, cause they now deep inside they have been scammed.

I'm considering a purchase of the Duet15. After watching this video I have to wonder why they cost $6490? I don't doubt that they're very well-designed. I'm sure the drivers and crossover components are of very high quality. I have no problem with assembling them myself. Maybe it's down to their having no cabinet? I admit that my questioning their cost is at least a little influenced by having listened to sound demos on YT. The bass is excellent but my preference is for a warmer sound. I know you cannot properly judge a speaker by listening to these YT videos. I'll have the opportunity to see and listen to these speakers at an upcoming audio show. Hopefully that experience will change my mind. Thanks for doing this video.
Those looking to upgrade are existing customers who supported and trusted the product when it first launched. In less than a year, they have an inferior product and need to pay high price just to get the sound to the same as new buyers. There should have been a more reasonable option provided considering the short time the original got replaced.
@@JPWinters It’s Tesla (push updates when they are available) or VW (wait for the next facelift or update several years later). For the record, I’m also annoyed about mine, but I am at least happy there is an option down the line instead of not having any option just because they didn’t put time/effort in making it work with the previous versions. My 2 cents.
I agree a new MKII version would make more sense. But I am also seeing they made major changes to the transformers, changing to toroidal from el-core or something else.
Hi Alvin, thanks for letting us know that the Emei Amp's modular design enables owners to do retro upgrades. However please don't keep saying the model name as EE-MAY, when we all know it's named after the famous 峨嵋 mountain in China's Sichuan Province and should be pronounced UH-MAY to be closer to the original.
$500 USD?! This is a slap in the face for those who bought the original! I like the sound but this is too much. For this reason, I would not recommend this company, seems like shady business to me.
Why is it not there in the first place when you buy the unit? In fact, you have to pay twice the module for only bigger caps ? It would have cost only the increased caps value price instead of a whole module….🙄
I agree. Buy a good decent equipment from a reputable historic brand (Denon, Yamaha, Sugden, Pass…) and you know what you buy from the beginning, not like all these new brands, cheap on the paper, built on the cheap, so that over the next 20 years you will spent 10 times more (mandatory « upgrades », no more support,…).
I didn't realise this unit is of such high quality in design & build. I love the modular architecture and implied promise of future-proofing. Nowhere in the marketing material or reviewer presentations is the preamplifier & amplifier design so clearly described as in this video, highlighting the quality components. Well done Kinki and Vinshine. You have won yourself a customer.
I use a Huawei 6G router and add a Ifi Lan Silencer n connected to my A6 ME , its def improved the sound. Ofc a Denafrips Pontus 2 with Iris DDC via I2S. Its pretty amazing

This is very interesting. I purchased the Denafrips Iris 12th from Vinshine last spring and I was very satisfied - I understand you no longer cary the Denafrips line but I am very interested by your new products, as I am planning to completely renew my hifi system in the coming month.
It might sound terrific but the product name is printed all over the place and in LARGE LETTERS too. I own very good equipment and the mfg name can’t be found anywhere. Sort of a turn off to me.

I don't like these flashy designs. Even though they may look stylish, what matters most is good sound quality. There's no need to spend money on the appearance since the cost will ultimately be passed on to consumers.
Just throw it all in a cardboard box mate who cares, in fact take all the wires and boards and transformers out of the boxes who needs em if it sounds good right? 😅😂
please, oh please tell me how this is so flashy? You all are reaching. You complaining is like saying an apple device is too flashy. Or a Holo May dac is too flashy. This dac is simple luxury...there are WAY MORE FLASHY UNITS THAN THIS.
@@alexkane84Even Topping/SMSL have started to put goldish feet on their dacs...looks cheaper then cheap but looks like Chinese manufacturers confuse this with stylish. It´s like putting gold door handles on a Ford Focus 😅 I don´t own Denafrips but at least they didn´t make this mistake (so far). Gustard is also trying to be ´different´ but I find their designs quite a mismatch 😵💫
Fair enough. The cost of a Porsche stops me from purchasing it I hope they realise. Missed sale. But yeah, I hear ya, it looks OTT bling online.. I got one anyway the silver and am glad I did. Sounds superb, another level to the R26 and its gold accents are lighter than he saturated vids and photos and fade away in your typical shadowed or low light hifi rack. Rather it looks very cool indeed, the nicest machined and finished item and I have a few.
