You are kinda right about the vocals. They're clearly letting SU-METAL have much more freedom with the way she sings based on recent live videos and she's adopting a far more western approach in a lot of cases. Looser, and certainly more nasal at times (maybe illness - dunno). It's certainly not the straight idol-style singing that characterised their early work. You're not alone in noticing the difference and if you want to say it is not your preference you wouldn't be alone either. She's still a top quality vocalist and I can't blame anyone for exploring their capabilities and experimenting. I just hope they don't completely abandon what makes them a unique group and a big part of that is doing things the Japanese way. (As an aside, you can hear a lot of the differences when she speaks American English these days.)

They are one of my favorite bands. Try "Rude Awakening", "Unfortunately" (no video though but it kicks!), "Whose fist is this anyway?", "Revenge best served cold". Lovebites is not heavy. Metal is symphonic metal. People do not confuse eg ROCK IS NOT HEAVY ROCK HEAVY ROCK IS NOT HEAVY METAL AND HEAVY METAL IS NOT SYMPHONIC METAL. Do not confuse symphonic metal with heavy metal. You know music, you should know the difference. It falls within the Nightwish or epic line for example. It is music elevated to its highest expression. THANK YOU
Some people look up the names just before the reaction. This song carries forward the new, more Pop, sound they introduced with Stand And Deliver, shortly after FAMI joined the band. I prefer their more Thrash-oriented songs, like HAMMER OF WRATH, THUNDER VENGENCE, BREAK THE WALL, and SET THE WORLD ON FIRE.
Really enjoying your reactions. Miyako (guitar #2) is very serious on stage. Off stage she is a bundle of energy, smiles, and fun. Miyako's reserved persona is in part an act, to emphasize the contrast with Midori. But when they go into duet mode, it's like they are telepathically connected.

Then you have one of the best bassist ever is Fami she can make anyone smile 😊 then you have Haruna aka little big engine on drums she is one of the best drummers 🥁 ever!! LOVEBITES have so many great songs it's hard to place this one. It's as catchy as hell though so no doubt it will continue to grow. BTW I had the pleasure of meeting Miyako (dark haired guitarist) and she was anything but "stand offish". I think she is a quite an anxious performer though. 🤘🤘🤘🤘 ☺
Love it!!!! I hope to get to sing along to it in Atlanta a week from now! I have threatened throwing my panties onstage if they play it!🧐🤣 I agree that the line in the chorus should be tweaked to "just beyond" instead of "far beyond"to match the positivity.
While I understand your immediate affection for Midori (fitness-girl guitarist), I think you're really mischaracterizing Miyako (dark haired guitarist) or at least not understanding her so much (deep classical piano background, writer of many of the Lovebites tracks and overall technical master for the band). But worst of all you MISSED her little dance moment immediately following the solo section!!!! In your video here that happens around 9 mins 23 seconds - it's not often you see Miyako in 'playful mode' but here it is! Incidentally, Miyako has her own RU-vid channel, and she certainly knows how to have as much fun as any other the other members. Her love of Star Wars (she has a little white dog named "Wampa" after the creature in Star Wars) and her sheer musical genius is on display in many of the videos, but also her fun side comes out. Worth a look if you have a few minutes. Nice reaction here though - this is certainly a 'fun' track. 🤘🎸🐺

I love this song and really all of their discography. Since this was their first as a four piece group, it might be a direction. However, Nemophila is very much a box of chocolates. Looking forward to their second release on 11 Sep 24. ❤️🌸

This album has double title tracks. Serious is even more powerful then Burn It. I'm a 2nd gen person too. FT Island was my 1st group so i used to like only band groups like Ft Island, Cnblue, Led Apple, Lunafly, Royal Pirates ect. I didn't like dance groups at first. But my best friend was a Big Bang fan. I started to like Big Bang because of her. And i had always a soft spot for Ss501 in my heart. But i didn't want to be a fan of a broken group so i stoped liking them. The funny thing is, i became a TVXQ fan after a few years 😅 Btw, did you check out Jaejoong's new album? There is a song featured Miyavi in the album.
