Her second song In Love We Rust is quite different from this one. Love both of them for different reasons. Same singer, whole different sound 😁.

Composition also from prog metal maestro Arjen Lucasson of Aryeon 🤘🏻

The song was co-written by Arjen Luccassen, the prog mind behind Ayreon. You can hear his influence throughout the song. Typical of prog music, it will not stay in the same space within the music. The structure is very similar to most of his music, especially the song Transitus, which also featured Simone. Personally, I love the complexities of the sounds.

Of course all things are great with this, but I just want to emphasise the meaning of the lyrics in the beginning which eludes a lot of listeners. She is taking the character of an early supernova taking its last breath. As we all know, the death of these were the creation of second generation stars and planets and potentially life. I find it poetic

The "choir" is actually only made up of two voices: Simone's and John Jaycee Cuijpers. Just a lot of layering. The 'plot thread' is that Simone is a star about to go supernova and die, but knowing that in so doing she will create heavier atoms such as carbon, oxygen and nitrogen that one day may fore complex chemicals that could lead to life.

An 'orgasm' of love passion rolling out in this Dutch (my small country) bomber song! Try also some more Blackbriar, Delain and their ex-singer Charlotte Wessels, The Gathering (Anneke van Giersbergen) and Within Temptation songs! Also German band 'Snow White Blood' is epic!

nothing's wrong with the song, you've not just used to their sound. It's too epic and they offer so much that you can't just grasp them in just one listen. Also, you were PAUSING much throughout the song that breaks the momentum of the song that could be one of the factors why it sounds disjointed to you.

Kan jij het beter dan fffffff

I am a fan of many of the female fronted rock bands. As much as I like Nightwish this song and the in love we rust sound better than Nightwishs new song. I was not impressed with the mixing and production of the new Nightwish song.
