British by passport, but not by heart, TÂCHES grew up within the romanticised confines of the Balearic island, Mallorca. The romantic, melancholic voice of TÂCHES can be heard through his alluring productions and storytelling DJ sets. Managing to straddle both sides of the dance-feel spectrum, his productions combine hypnotising rhythms with emotive and ethereal explorations in melody. Refusing to define his music by ‘genre’, he instead aims to elicit a specific feeling - constantly maintaining a notably strong personal style, despite experimenting and evolving himself with each release.
This solves bitwigs shit points - ie groove, nudge notes over api and chord/scales/gen - while using global macros, free routing and modulation- win win.
I'm going to release an album for my solo music project. I write a little over time and have a few songs ready to go. I'll get there and am taking action. Good luck to you all as well whoever reads this and has a dream or a goal.

Fuck yes! Wishing you support and creativity my friend 💪🏼
My big dream was to find contentment in the simple life I live, free from the chains of the big dream. I came to a realisation many years ago that maybe I was already living my big dream and not somebody else's. Sorry to sound negative, but if don't look around at what you've already achieved, no matter how small, you might miss out on the fact that maybe just maybe, you're already 'living the dream'. To quote Ferris Bueller... 'Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it'

Then you ARE living your dream. Many are living unhappy lives on someone else’s terms. If you are happy with what you have, this message is not for you. To the many millions (billions?) of people stuck in dead end jobs, struggling to make any changes to their lives because they have decided that that’s what life is… My message is dream bigger. Dream at all.
We are locked in a tiny box called a typewriter. Too bad engineers only consider a typewriter to communicate with a daw . I watch the endless commands and icons ( dizzying to be polite ) and feel like throwing up . And I’m really really mad about it after ridiculous amounts of time and money wasted. And bit wig is the least fun of any kind of daw I have ever used .
The endless key commands and hot keys and a really strange interface that relies on a typewriter . I use logic on the computer but really can’t stand it either . The more features the more commands and complexity that is very difficult to get used too period . I tried it for weeks and weeks and just didn’t like the cryptic icons the weird cut and copy crapp and instruments that look like crapp not instruments . If a daw isn’t able to do the work quickly it’s in the dumpster. When I want to actually have fun and make music and sounds with effects etc I use the daw even the maker isn’t serious about “Korg Gadget which so far is the only daw that makes sense as soon as you open it . Everything nested in a mixer lane , audio , midi , sends , midi channel settings, a browser etc. were it all can easily be seen used and viewed. Its gadgets sound better than many ( definitely including bigwig) of the so called pro daws and are fully realized instruments not little boxes with arrows . If Korg would give it just a few more minutes of their time to bring it to a fully functional daw it would crush bit wig or anything else for that matter! when you export to Lurrsen mastering suite for the final spit shine the result is amazing as audio which can then be exported in many different ways to audio share etc for archiving audio. When can we expect that kind of work flow with bit wig? 🤔👽✌️

@@christoroppolo8742 What’s my video got to do with Bitwig?
@@christoroppolo8742 then go full 90s, buy an MPC or any other 8track sampler/music maker e go do music there, just like Moby did...you are complaining of having too much options (I sincerely don't get it)
“All living things need an atmosphere around them, a secret circle of darkness. If this veil is taken from them, if people condemn a religion, an art, a genius to orbit like a star without an atmosphere, then we should no longer wonder about their rapid decay and the way they become hard and barren. That is the way it is now with all great things which never succeed without some delusion. But every people, indeed every person, who wishes to become mature needs such an enveloping delusion, such a protecting and veiling cloud. But today people generally despise becoming mature, because they honour history more than living. Indeed, people exult over the fact that now 'science is beginning to rule over living'. It is possible that people will attain that goal but it is certain that a life so governed is not worth much, because it is much less living and it establishes a life for the future far less than does the previous life governed not by knowledge but by instinct and powerful illusory images. But, as stated, it is clearly not to be the era of fully developed and mature people, of harmonious personalities, but the era of common work which is as useful as possible. That, however, amounts only to the fact that people are to be trained for the purposes of the time, in order to get to work with their hands as promptly as possible. They are to labour in the factories of the universal utilities before they are mature, that is, so that they really no longer become mature, because this would be a luxury, which would deprive the 'labour market' of a lot of power." - Friedrich Nietzsche
this make me realize that being my problem I realize that now. I realize already I done I make my oc better than I done in hs without fear of being make fun of.
Inspiring message for sure! You'll never see what will happen unless you try it. Too much overthinking, methods and strategy will get you out of the flow and fun!
I find my best inspirations when I go and walk with my dogs and sometimes I think it's important to take the action even if you don't want to, work a bit on music and after 15 mins I generally feel way better and enjoy making music but I don't force it.One important aspect to helps me to get into flow is having a ritual before making music.
If you wait to be in that state.... life could pass by very fast. So, it may be best to throw yourself to the rodeo and create a lot while searching for that state of being.... 🤓
Reminds me of: "People should not think so much about what they should do, they should rather think about what they are." Quote from Meister Eckhart (Mystic who lived from 1260 to 1327): Isn't it fascinating how we (as humans) always have to re-discover and re-learn what others have discovered thousands of years ago, too? Life is quite weird, haha.
I used to listen to Fuse on Classic 21 in Belgium every Saturday and the few times Claude Young aired I was basically glued to the radio and I was in my mid-teens.. So inspirational. Him, Jeff Mills and Dave Clarke really made the bridge between the Turntablism and the classic House/Disco mixing style.. His couple if releases on Elypsia.. Oh my... Respect.
A true privilege to hear such an in depth interview with probably my fave techno DJ and producer ever (and one of the most underrated). So many great stories and insights here. Big up Claude (and Tâches)... Hope I'm in that random bar when you step up on the decks! ❤
And I like the beach reference! Just for clarification, this isn't my quote. Funnily enough the quote in question 'The small details make the big picture' was from an audio mixing book I have (which I have now misplaced).
Not as of yet, I'd have to look into it. Music is solely a hobby for me. I accepted a while back I won't have a career in the field so I took up nursing instead. Work life balance and all that.

It's 100% free and I'm using it to teach everything I know about HOW to have a career in music if you so desire. Come join us!
So nice interview! I'm very happy that there is another talk, showing people from our nice community. Thank you both so much making this happening. Looking forward for more 🌻
It takes a tremendous amount of time and effort to effectively teach complex subjects like DAW music production and it's understood that teachers need a living (hopefully thriving) income to continue their work, even though the same people love their subject so much that they'd probably do it for free if they could. Don't feel bad about trying to work the system to thrive at what you love.
Lex you are the legend! Thanks for organising this movement and throwing the fuel of your musical insights and passion for teaching to keep it growing and burning
