FOV: you’ve got one working arm, there’s artillery falling from the sky, it’s foggy and two whole lances of mechs left to kill. They never stood a chance.
The Catapult is raining LRM's from afar. The Hunchback is playing Rock-em Sock-em Robot with an assault mech that foolishly chased it into the urban center. My Marauder is showing a Combine Dragon that PPC's aren't just for long range brawls, and my faithful, beloved little up-armored Urbie s trundling up behind me to slice ankles and help finish what Lance-lead started.
MW5 has surprisingly good music. This song for instance manages to be intense and triumphant at times while still evoking a sort of sorrow at others, befitting the bittersweet feeling of revenge. It's just too bad your revenge quest probably took decades, even if you knew what you were doing. I don't understand how piggy expected the player to still be concerned with their revenge plot when that was 60+ hours ago and you've spent the last 5 in-game years fighting in an irrelevant civil war on the other end of the galaxy with no mention of Black Inferno.
Your strained eyes are filled with golden dawn that basks scorched earth with morning rays... Land filled with burning metal, craters, corpses... Flames are dying down and the heat is gradually being replaced by the freshness of the morning air. You look at the survivors that pick up the scraps. Some of them are crying. Some of them are frantically looking for something. Some of them are just standing and looking at distance with empty eyes. All covered in dirt. Bruised and scratched. Bandaged. But still alive. And then you look behind you. You see the faces of your comrades that smile back at you with faces filled with relief and fatigue. We are still alive. Yet another miraculous day of fortune we don't deserve. Your tired mind is confused with the fact that you an your friends all survived despite impossible odds. You sit down and lean your head to a chunk of metal that used to be the arm of your mech. Ripped appart and dropped here. It feels so pleasantly cold to your burnt out head. In a funny way, you feel like you are being hugged by it. You look at the distance and become aware that your mind is no longer floded with fear. The tension of your body lets go. The fatigue catches up to you and you doze out into a slumber.
First time Playing MechWarrior 5 and this suddenly plays on the mission where you get your first Co-Mechwarrior, I was failing the mission but i got through coz o dis hehd
I remember piloting a king crab with two ac20s going into a small enemy outpost solo with 3 enemy medium mechs and some support vehicles.. just weathering the enemy fire and turning enemy mechs into piles of slag just feels sooo good.
Your Star…warriors you’ve fought with, warriors you’ve bled with. Warriors that have slowly shuffled themselves towards extinction. They’re all dead now, dead in a backwater system on a now dead planet. You see the mushroom cloud engulfing the horizon. You realize all too well what is coming, and you accept it. The last thing you hear before the scorched air slams into your crippled Mad Dog. REACTOR CRITICAL The Smoke Jaguar Exterminatus
Am i the only one that likes to return to the starting area sometimes to Field an assault mech solo and just Destroy everything in my path? Just me? Okay
This song feels strangely melancholic. It reminds me of the fact that no one listening to it right now will ever experience this far future and whatever awaits us in space. "Born too late to explore Earth, born too early to explore Space."
*keys the ignition sequence and starts up my 60 tonne dragon DRG, along with a balanced centi a rifleman DNA, and a balanced atlas* whelp, time to go make the chimi-fu-*duck quacking sounds*-changas
The full version of this song is fucking Zen. MechWarrior has had one of the best soundtracks since it's inception. MWO disappointed save one song in my opinion, but this song embodies it completely.
When paired with rhythmic stomping of a King Crab, thumping of AC20s or an HGs, roar of a Large Laser and a whirl of LRMs, this song hits *entirely different*
That opening oozes comstat dropping in on a fight over lostech between a merc company and some pirate or other entity neither of whom are packing anytbing over 55 tons...and they drop a whole lance of king crabs
Love how it has some Western, "Fronteirsy" vibes, yet absolutely is heavy enough to bring to mind Mechs. Always loved the Mechwarrior/Battletech games!
