After buying my first bike at the end of 2014, I rode cross country to San Francisco where I now live and work. I worked at BMW Motorcycles of San Francisco for a year and a half and learned a lot about motorcycles, motorcycle gear, and accessories during my time there. My focus and passion is on motorcycling and camping with a little bit of other stuff mixed in for fun. Join in on the adventure! That was where I learned how to counter steer. It was written in a manner that just made sense to me. (The motorcycle license guide spoke of pushing the opposite handle in a manner that made zero sense)
It can be if done at unsafe speeds and if you're not on your game. Unfortunately my last accident was while lane splitting and there was simply nothing I could have done to predict that a driver was going to aggressively make a lane change with zero notice. Usually you can tell when someone driving a car is going to make a lane change by how they start drifting towards the lane a bit, even without a turn signal. Bay area traffic is simply dangerous as a whole, but lane splitting can actually be statistically safer for the rider. On the other hand, I have zero doubt that lane filtering is safer for everyone involved.
A little thread locker can help to stop any mirror from rotating. But then they will likely break in some way when the get hit during a tip over as they will not spin on the threads a bit. On a Honda Transalp the mirror mounts will break yet have no marking or damage to the mirror, and new lever perches will need to be replaced. Ask me how I know. LOL
😂 I'm trying to decide if these mirrors are worth the hype and your video definitely helped. Enjoyed the humor, specially the scene behind the bush...lol😂
hey bud, just discovered your channel because Im researching about the same gloves. Happy you are ok from that crash, which gloves do you use now ? Cheers !
Had these. Hated them and literally gave them away. They vibrate so much that they were unusable. Also they are ugly. Bought different mirrors that are crystal clear. YMMV
Cyclops LED : ONE STAR ONLY. About their attitude : I had to rate my >>negative review<< 5 stars on Cyclops website to have it published. Less than 4 stars and the administrator will not publish your comment. I tried before so I can testify. This is just dishonest business!!! About their bulb : I had a Cyclops H4 Ultra on my CRF250L 2018. Very bright but died after one year only. The driver (black box) was much too hot, I couldn't even touch it. The bulb started to flicker (driver too hot??) then died shortly after. 90$ for only one year of use ?? I replaced it with a Novsight 12000 lumen LED bulb for a quarter of the price. 3 years since and zero problem. Driver is not even warm. Very bright and nice cutoff patterns same as Cyclops, and I have one extra bulb as spare (Novsight is sold by pair). Cyclops is not worth the price (90$) for ONE bulb. There is better options out there. Think before you spend $$$ with Cyclops. Novsight is a much cheaper/better alternative. Just my 10 cents.
Had mine about 5years it is as hot as hell in the summer but my go to helmet for winter fall spring I leave my locks onpen on peak so I can move up an down in low sun quiet have just brought ls2 advent x carbon for summer loud as hell though but nice and cool in hot weather that said do love my e1
For the full kit (with the arm and the ball mount)? If so that's a steal. At that point it's worth determining if your ok with buying from someone who's likely stealing intellectual property at that point. Zero judgement to anyone who buys that.
I have a '12 F800GS and I just broke a mirror. It broke at that "sacrificial" collet piece that mounts in the handlebar. It's a BMW part so it's not cheap, but it's still less than the Double Takes. I really thought hard about buying the Double Takes, but in the end decided to just fix the OEMs. I mean, I don't dislike my mirrors. They aren't round so they have some of that benefit of elongated mirrors that you were talking about. I also didn't know that the Double Takes get loose after a while. That's disappointing. I don't know, my OEM mirrors have never moved (except when I crashed and it hit the ground). Not sure I'll be in a hurry to get the Double Takes.
Your videos are captivating; your adventures are breathtaking. 🏞 How do you manage fatigue during those epic rides and ensure you're always in top shape? Exciting topic!
I admire what you've done here, but I am looking for a different result. I don't really want a mirror finish, but want to get rid of the shadows of the old stickers that the last owner had. I've removed all the sticker and their backing using a heat gun and goo gone. You had mentioned that the mirror finish that you created took several applications of the mothers poilsh. Did the single application (first coat) remove the sticker shadows without making the bags so mirror like?
