I follow all steps and when I boot with the SD card loaded I get the initial robotic voice as heard in the video stating initializing and I believe a second one saying transferring but after that nothing and the camera still shows in the wyze app and no web ui at the cams IP. Any ideas what happened/how to fix? Also, on the github site the last step mentions SSH keys, but it doesn't appear you did anything with that.

Is this opener a LJ8900W? I was working with a LJ8900W over the weekend that looks identical. I was having issues where door control worked but status was really slow to update. If the status updated it was normally several minutes after the door status changed. Controls generally seemed to work. It was odd and still don't know why it wasn't working normally.
@ChuckBuilds
@ChuckBuilds 2 дня назад
It's a Liftmaster 8500W but I bet it is similiar. I'd try RATGDO firmware update with ESPHome maybe. I had a few weird issues when filming the series vs actually installing that was fixed with a fresh firmware flash
@TimBertram
@TimBertram 2 дня назад
@@ChuckBuilds The RATGDOs I was using are the ones from Gelidus Research. Turning my testing a different points I tried both the original RATGDO firmware and the Gelidus Research version adapted from the Konnected blaQ GDO firmware. Both seemed to produce similar results. It seemed like control was working but communication was either not working or really slow. I'll have to mess with it more, unfortunately the openers these units were purchased for are 3 hours away. I'm going to have to do some more testing on some friends openers that are more local to try and figure out my issues. The thing that is weird about the LJ8900W is the buttons are just single green buttons. Almost like maybe it's security plus 1.0 but when I set the firmware to 1.0 nothing worked. It only partially worked when I had it set to 2.0.

What are the benefits to installing it directly or using a virtual machine on a windows PC
@ChuckBuilds
@ChuckBuilds 5 дней назад
I've got a video on my channel about this. Primarily it's about ease of installation, power consumption, and delegation of system resources. A super high end PC is wasted just running HAOS when it can run HAOS and a bunch of other things. Virtualizing on top of windows is not a recommended way to run it as it will likely have stability and performance issues. Installing it directly on a low power PC is a great way to ensure 24/7 uptime, give old hardware a second life, and likely keep a lighter footprint on your power bill if spec'd properly.

Will these instructions also work on a regular PC as well? I have been using a MicroPC, but I also have Frigate running from HA and I have now noticed that the CPU of the micro seems to be taxed from time to time despite having a Coral USB installed. Additionally, the full PC will allow for more internal Storage for the NVR function of Frigate with full speed of the HD Connection rather than network storage or USB expansion. The Regular PC I can go to an i7 vs i5, and provides more RAM, and dedicated graphics card. I understand it's going to use more power, but that is not really a concern. Thoughts?
@ChuckBuilds
@ChuckBuilds 7 дней назад
Yes you could but I would be more concerned about "wasting" resources by having it all tied up in HomeAssistant. Might be a good chance to check out Proxmox which would let you run HomeAssistant OS as a Virtual machine (VM) but still let you run other things like Frigate on it's own or in docker.

Correct. It is no longer responsive in the app after the firmware. I probably should’ve clarified that was why we remove the Wyze logo and motion boxes before installing it.
