Hi @RobHK thanks for great comparison it's really helpful. I am planning to buy one confused between DJI action 2 and Action3 . And confusion is primarily because of heating issue with DJI action 2 which I have heard and read about over past few months. My usage is mostly filming small clips of a daily routine both outdoors & indoors and occasionally a product review video indoor. So what do you suggest going for action 2 or 3. And does heating issue really a major concern with action 2 considering the price?
every time the video showing side by side (left/right), i see that the action 4 is sharper than gopro 12. is it just me or youtube rendering or my monitor or my eyes?? (i watch this video in 4k btw)
Thanks for this info. I tried searching for firmware updates for rc2 and mini4pro just now (UK) and it said all was up to date (with older 1.13.0 version according to your video). Maybe they are rolling it out gradually to see if bugs or issues are reported by the first ones to get it?
Same here. So far can only update the app to the latest version on your phone, not the RC2 nor the M4P. Maybe in the next few days. Not sure how RobHK could update his. Maybe pre-release testing directly from DJI?
I use DJI action 4. Unfortunately, the camera does not expose correctly either in manual or auto mode. In auto mode the ev should compensate by + 1 minimum but instead of being at +1 it reaches -2 and I am underexposed, in manual mode I am correctly exposed but the backroand is overexposed. I understand that the sensor is not too big, but it should expose correctly, as does my phone, which has a much smaller sensor than this camera.
all good points, but i guess it all depends on the user and what you need the camera for. personally the last gopro i had was the hero 3+ and now got the 12. For me as well many features are gonna be unused but the horizon lock, the 8:7 ratio and the ruggedness of the camera is what made me choose it. I intend to use it on my mirrorless cameras for POV shooting on shoots that i do as a photographer for that BTS. I also use a DJI pocket 3 for BTS but with tracking so i can have it stationary to film me from further away (and because of the actual mechanical stabilisation). For my work i think this will be a great action/BTS/POV camera and i do appreciate every input i read or hear.
I mean, if it falls once its over. No need to test it 1+ time. Scratch will be made. That is why i prefer the cheapest there is, because they will protect the camera from falling once.
If you have a large enough memory card installed in your RC2, there should be an option in the settings to save / cache your drone settings before a firmware update, once updated the settings are loaded back into the controller. A lot of people spend plenty of time trying to sort out all 3 mode settings and then have it wiped isn’t good.
Never really noticed any slowdown on mine. Although, I never started in the drone. I had it set to open to the menu instead of camera view on boot. It seems like the slowdown was caused from a combination of booting up and trying to connect to the drone and revieve a signal. I think it was quicker to just open to the menu and then tap "go fly" then just booting into the camera.
Hi Rob, did the update but now the controller is stuck on the dji white screen, tried to connect onto the assistant but only showing the 4 pro drone, any ideas to unlock the controller and, or reset etc ??
@@RobHK turned on and off loads of times but nothing, someone did say press c1 then c2 and shutter button and you should see a blue light appear on controller but it didnt work either, do you know what the latest version of assistant is ?
hi there i fly a mini4 that last update has stopped my wireless mic working is this djis way of making me buy there own mic my cheapass mic worked before lol happy flying
This is a good update if own the older goggles and controllers, and you want to buy just the Avata 2, and not the bundle. Great video, thanks for sharing.
number 1 m4p is needed is offline/web ability to build flight paths in a googles map based app and upload to your controller. Doing waypoints on the controller is functional, but sucks.
I want to make HDR videos, but HLG post-production color grading is very difficult. In comparison, D-log M is superior in post-production color grading. However, the color gamut of D-log M is Rec 709 instead of Rec 2020, so I am a little confused about this issue and don’t know how to understand it?
So use these settings on my 4 it’s my first action cam so a complete beginner &being 58 not very tech savvy 😬. I’ve never used a video editing tool so wanna have best possible results with minimal,if any messing around or at least till I get better Dji try’s to get me to use their editing sweet but I want simple and easy , I’ve subscribed as watched lots of your content to make my mind up which one to purchase in the first place 👍. I’ll be all on motorbike to start with , I’m not planning on utubing my videos they are for my benefit only .thanks again for the reasonably easy to follow content 🏍👍🎉🎉
Why is it the action 4 has the larger sensor but can only do leveling up to a resolution of 2.7 while the go pro 11/12 can achieve this at up to 4k. I assume it come down to processing power….
Pretty pointless update for this who fly FOV with 03 what we need is for the RC3 and Goggles 3 to be backwardly compatible with 03 units. Then I can sell my goggles 2 and rc2
1st time I took out the camera popped in the cap clip holder, it fell out without me noticing. Thankfully I got it back before someone took it. The only good thing about that was the video created by the group of kids that picked it up.
Perhaps there was a mis-communication about the official firmware release date. DJI won't acknowledge its existence and checking for updates says no update available. Using DJI Assistant 2 for consumer drones, connecting Avata2 and Goggles3 says no updates. When I contacted DJI support, they said there is no update and trust them not RU-vid, lol UPDATE: Found a bug where the DJI assistant 2 doesn't show there is any updates. But if you use DJI fly app (update app), then it shows updates for AV2 and Goggles3.
Almost same Q as below: can I use the Avata 2 with the latest goggles but with the FPV 2 controller, or is this only working if I use the older goggles too? Looking at the release notes it isn’t possible to mix.
This update appears to address forward compatibility for O3 hardware and not backward compatibility with O4 hardware. Your question is using a combination of both that is unclear. Someone is going to have to test it out.
