Purchased the X4 without watching any reviews and thinking a lot... and when watching reviews and videos shot on it, feels like a right choice..no need to effort in recording...post production does everything..when i am travelling, i want to enjoy the view more and think about angles of recording less... glad it was picked up as a choice..
I've used all of these cameras (except the pocket 3) and my pick is the Action 4, the sheer reliability, image quality, wide FOV (great for biking which is my main use) and ease of adding a mic made it the clear winner for me. I was particularly disappointed with the Ace Pro, it had some cool features but the stability and tight FOV made it unusable for me. The X4 is very good but I only consider it suitable for short b-roll clips or short activity shots...manually re-framing shots can be tedious and longer shots can be quite a bit of work. The Hero 12 has a nice image and the Lens Mod 2 is really nice for biking shots but the camera feels dated and I hate how hard it is to link a mic to it, I also don't like how the Sd card, battery and charging port are all under one door, DJI have the right idea by giving the USB port it's own door keeping the battery and Sd card always sealed even when using accessories.
for MTB the action 4 is also my go to. it is the most durable, doesnt crash like insta and gopro modellsand has - due to lack of mounting points - the best angle/pov. the magnetic hold make riding/talking super fast and easy to switch. talking is also great if mounting a wind buff. yet, for all other sports, i use a phone (g pixel) and a drone, thats enough.
Since purchasing the DJI Action 4 last September, I seem to reach for that camera more than any of my other ones. And since purchasing the Action 4, I have also picked up the Hero 12 and Pocket 3. And I'm still on the Insta360 X2, I never seem to use it enough upgrade. Great review, they all seem like very good cameras depending on your needs. So many affordable choices for solo content creators. Thanks for sharing.
The one thing nobody ever talks about on the pocket 3 is panoramic shots. It takes four Stills and stitches them together to create a panoramic. In camera the stitching is OK. It also saves all 4 stills. You get way better quality by stitching them after the fact in Photoshop or whatever editor you use. I have used this in multiple parties with a big group of 20 or more. I simply put the pocket three on the coffee table and it gets somewhere around 180° of photos. Everyone is always very impressed
You should have mentioned that gopro app now paywalls features. So even though you have purchased the camera, you need a subcription for the full experience. And the app is very slow.
Wish there were more comparisons on Insta360 One R 1 inch wide lens mod and Pocket 3’s 1 inch sensor. Appreciate this video including so many action/pocket cams 💚
I will say that your smart phone is the camera you always have. With that, if you are serious about travel videos, a dedicated action camera is the way to go - save your phone's battery life to be your phone, navigation device, and handheld computer.
I have an X3 and when I have 1 camera that is the 1 I use. I started with the gopro and never got it not its my webcam mostly. I have the go 2 which is amazing in that it looks like a earpods case super pocketable. I lost my pocket 2 in Aruba which is what led to the x3 purchase and I just got the go3s which is why I'm watching this to see if I keep it or go with the ace pro with the 8k. You make a valid point nothing exports in 8k. Its cool for zooming and whatever but the memory v the pocketability is huge. I know it won't be the same when I open the box but the go2's size was amazing.
Thanks for the video. I have a pocket 3 - love it. It’s an amazing camera. I ordered X4 so will get my hands on it soon but I never used 360 before. And want to order the go 3s now it’s with 4k and i think it can be the third camera for special creative shots. The idea is combining 2 of them and maybe my main Sony camera to create videos. So 3 small cameras can do almost anything. What do you think?
I'm looking for an action cam, I'm not interested in 8k, I'm interested in good stabilization and interchangeable batteries, decent lowlight videos are priced under €500, what do you recommend? Anyway, I loved this video!
I have the Go 3 for about half a year and it's still awesome. I have also been thinking about getting the X4 for biking and skiing but I don't know if I would use it that much when I have so much fun with the Go...
Just returned my Go3 today. The image quality felt like something from 2013. Unfortunately got scammed by RU-vid reviews and Insta360 having influencers hide the sponsorship but luckily got a refund from Amazon.
You can’t beat a 360 camera for most things, I have the one rs 360, and it’s great for blogging because your always in frame and it does NOT have to look fish eyed like was shown here at all it can look just like a regular camera with extreme stabilization - you can also use it to record a pod cast set ups if staged right with one camera and the app
@@santhoshmedarametla4558 i have more than 3 camera but i really like dji osmo action 4 its really worth buying for my vlogs cannel and more for 4k video
Great video! I’m a content creator myself so I can appreciate the hard work and dedication it takes to make a video like this a lot of footage and a lot of editing! 🎥👍
Amazing video! Long by RU-vid standards but you covered a ton of info. I am currently using the GoPro 7...I know, I'm way behind but I wasn't shooting much before I retired. Now that I no longer work, I'm shooting much more and editing so I'm planning to upgrade and your review was very helpful. As of this time, GoPro has come out with the 13. So, I'm leaning toward that or the DJI Action 4. I don't do much low-light or I'd also be interested in the Insta360 Ace Pro. Thanks for doing this video, I know it was a lot of work.
Bud, so many cameras! I’m with you apart from the go3, as I don’t have it! Great video ~ your travels have taken you to some great colour/hues part of the world
excellent work as always, can you tell us what your setup is like (destok, etc) and what you are using to edit? What happened with LumaFusion and what do you think of CapCut? And what do you record with in your studio? What do you think about action cameras for recording in the studio?
Hi Rob! I'm also looking forward to this product, I've got a lot similar porducts and is enthusiastic in outdoors, is it possible to have a talk with you on these products? This would be really helpful! (I can pay for your help if you prefer
I was thinking of picking up a 360 camera, but I don't want to spend to much if the upgrade won't be noticeable. Therefore, I was thinking of getting an insta360 one X2 for about 250$, is that an ok deal, or it's better to put 499$ into one x4?
My X4 comes in tomorrow, it has better zoom than the X3, so the X2 might make you regret near future proofing your tech I have the one rs 360 and I love it, I use it to record my dodgeball games and I’m always in frame, but this upgrade will put me over the top
@@aantoine87 yeah, I just bought x2 today and I will see if I like it. It's not that big of investment, so I will see if I like it or not for cheap. I've got some used one for 170GBP so it's quite nice price
hey all im noob to cameras, i just want to be able to record my pickleball matches with good quality. Sometimes the sessions can be 2-3 hours long. what do yall recommend thank you so much!
I would say the DJJ Osmo Action 4 as it is cheaper then the Insta360 Ace Pro and has a wider field of view. Both of them with a tripod (or magnetic mount somewhere) and extra batteries are good. The GoPro 12 Hero is simply worse and the rest is too expensive for the limited use you have. I assume your biggest problem is overheating on a sunny day but that is an issue all of these cameras have. The Insta360 Ace Pro takes longer to overheat however you should still counteract it with creating shade, lowering resolution/framerate or creating a cooling device.
Very very informative video, highly appreciated.. I believe the quality video of tye pocket 3 is outstanding, but the colors in tge insta 360 x3 or x4 way much alife!! Any reason why or it's something we cab fix while editing as a pocket 3 owner ?!..
How is the freeform video on the Ace pro? Same as Go3 but more resolution and better quality? Looking for a small camera to take on trips. I allready have the X3 and Go3 but I am looking for something waterproof. Guessing it is beneficial to stay with Insta360 so that colors look sortof similar
Just got an X4, can’t wait to use it more. I think my next purchase will be an upgraded iPhone, for pictures and quicker edits. Still using an iPhone 11 Pro and edit on 2018 iPad Pro 12.9. Gotta do an oil change and transmission oil change first though 😢 Oh I forgot, I also have RayBan Meta Sunglasses. Love using it when I’m with my kids and solo hikes.
@@bzdishekzapadlovsky I mostly share content on social media. And editing on an iPhone and then directly uploading on social media is faster than editing on computer for me. I have a MacBook Pro too but I don’t want it lug around on my adventures, I can edit everything on a phone on the go. I followed Rob long time ago because he edited video using LumaFusion app with his iPhone and iPad. So I do too still. Buying new devices cost money but I have other expenses to be taken care of first like car maintenance. My next purchase will be new iPhone
@@bzdishekzapadlovsky never said anything about posting it quickly, I said editing on phone is quicker for me. And I like uploading directly from phone. I have the original Insta360 One and you attach that on your phone to edit content. I have the first Osmo Pocket 1 which you attached on your phone. All these devices could be used on phones because they made it more convenient to edit and upload. I’m using them as they made it. There are options on the Insta360 mobile app that aren’t available on the desktop. So that’s what I choose to edit with. They made their app so easy and I want to get new phone. Easy peasy lemon squeezy
@@bzdishekzapadlovsky i have over a thousand videos and pictures on my social media. I make videos for fun. It’s fun for me to edit on phone/ipad. I don’t post much videos here on RU-vid so I don’t need to edit 4K or higher videos. 4K or higher videos needs a more powerful computer. My MacBook Pro isn’t newer, so it will have hard time editing videos. I rather spend money on iPhone which I can use more ways than one. Again, I have over a thousand videos on my social media. They’re mostly short clips. I don’t need to edit on computer for short clips. I thank Rob for teaching me how to edit on mobile devices and I thank insta360 to have app that’s makes it easy to edit.
