The ending of ducktales 2017 is a crying shame. They clearly didn't get the time they needed to flesh out their story, and they did a lot of their characters dirty in the process, leaving many loose ends dangling as they rushed to tie up their story and avoid that dreaded cliffhanger. Ducktales was probably one of the best TV shows Disney has produced in the last 10 years and the fact that they canceled it early, resulting in this *awful* ending, is just deppressing. At least we have fanfiction i guess
I was a female Ninjago kid! However I never rlly like nya as a child. I only ever watched the first few seasons while they were on tv before I “grew out of it” and started watching Disney shows. I never gravitated towards Nya, I was a major Zane lover. I was a typical girly girl and couldn’t connect with or relate to her but I could with Zane? I watched a lot of “boy shows” so I rarely got good female charters so I would latch onto the more feminine male characters and take those as my female fav characters 😂 HOWEVER once samurai x showed up she really rose through the ranks
The 87 Cent Solution is PEAK fiction Like, Seriously, even if you have NO interest In Ducktales AT ALL, PLEASE watch this Episode, it is Genuinely one of the greatest things I’ve ever Seen
This video is just a joke you clearly dont get what a strong female is. There are many good written female characters in Ninjago some wise some physically strong. And most of the audience are boys because its lego, action, ninja, typical boy stuff so its normal that the show is a bit more focused on them
Being a fan of the original I was excited for the reboot, and the first season is overall the best season. The problem is they changed certain characters too much, which then trapped them in a difficult situation in season 3. The triplets should have always been the key, together they can do anything individually they fail. Much as we see in season 1 with the hound of castle McDuck. Later they decide who cares about them being together we like Dewey. Thus Huey gets no character development and his positive qualities get pushed aside for his quirky ones. Webby was always OP but her weakness of social awkwardness kept her likeable, then she over comes it quick and her two new BFFs also get over powered, making them UN relatable. Fenton being a scientist and Gizmo duck also took focus away from Gyro to the point he couldn’t build anything of interest because the focus was on Fenton, also they made him so irritable that he was hard to enjoy, despite having some of the best lines in the whole show. All this rambling to say, they focused on characters they liked, and forgot about the rest, so when the finale came around they were left with under developed characters and over powered ones competing for a story that couldn’t support either. Still an amazing show, but more time was needed.
Tbh Kai kinda felt like The Main Character from S1-S7 with the exception of S6 while Lloyd had the role of the Leader. And Yes Kai does have Focus Seasons Like S1, S4, S5 and S7 just not a standalone season.
3:40:03 she does say it again, but only once, and it’s in dragons rising s2p2 T-T it took her 8 IN UNIVERSE YEARS to say it again! Granted, 5 of those she was separated from him, BUT STILL
April May and June were underdeveloped yes, but that doesn't mean you can just entirely ignore their place in past stories. Huey, Dewey and Louie were just as underdeveloped and they managed to respect their past iterations, meanwhile the girls aren't even connected to Daisy at all!!! Not to mention poor April got fused with an entirely separate character.
14:03 not sure what's wrong with s1 ep8, bcuz the idea of them having a rock start is the build up for their relationship development and own character development. 1:08:57 i also dont understand why u read into her arc this way. the thing is, that nya was good at the other things she picked up immediately, she was good at mechanics and engineering and fighting, but the whole idea of connecting to water was getting on her nerves bcuz she didnt immediately gte it. shes used to being 'ntaurally talented' bcuz shes shwon to be amazing at her other hobbies, like engineering, mechanics, artiliary and combat. she hates when she doesnt immediately be good at smth, and if she isnt, she'll quit. she cares too much about succeeding and is too impatient. not that hard read in
WARNING: long and somewhat ranty comment ahead. One of my only problems with the show was how it introduced so many new characters, and then just... didn't use them? Like, Penny was my favorite character introduced in season 2; her character development was great, she's a badass, and her chemistry and dynamic with Della was amazing. And what did we get in Season 3? We get one episode, pairing her with an odd choice of characters(Why Webby and freaking Launchpad? Why not, I don't know, DEWEY AND DELLA?). And then we only get a one-line cameo in the finale. Season 3 did her dirty. Also, I really don't know why Gossalyn was introduced?? Like, she only shows up in the Darkwing special (Which I have problems with, but that's a whole other thing), and then disappears until the finale. Why didn't they show her, like, being a part of Webby's friend group in a future episode and bonding with her, so she had a reason to go after Webby and FOWL in the finale, instead of just... being there? I (personally) Think they should've cut Gosalyn and her grandfather and make Negaduck the main villain of the episode instead, with Bulba being the secondary one. Maybe FOWL could've been forcing Bulba to make the Selego Circuit so Bradford could use it in the finale, threatening to destroy Bulba's company if he refused, or something like that. Negaduck breaks into the lab, uses it to summon the Darkwing Villians to get revenge on Darkwing, etc. Once they defeat Negaduck, Darkwing, Scrooge and the rest confront Bulba, demanding why he built the Selego Curcuit, and he spills the beans on FOWL. It makes Scrooge discovering Bradford being FOWL's leader more natural and impactful than just... having them see him get in a FOWL helicopter. TLDR: Penny deserved better, the Season 3 Darkwing Special and Finale was disappointing, and Negaduck should've shown up again. Still love the show.
... I really don't think anyone's gonna be able to pick up on it, but - does anyone know the song that starts at 2:22:52? It's the sort of music that'd play in the old fanaf game theories. Hope someone sees this.
I don't really like the idea of webby being scrooge clone specially being claimed as he's daughter like, it totally ruined the family inheritance specially for the main cast. They've elevated her too much to the point the rest of the family doesn't have anything to do anymore with scrooge fortune. I like scrooge as a head of the family nurturing everyone, not being biased to anyone specially in terms of he's attention. They could have just made webby an experimental character or weapon that is meant to destroy scrooge, so at the end she will end up still being grand daughter of beakley but also giving her a grand moment being welcome and appreciated being part of the family, they don't need to make her as scrooge daughter, cause I don't really like that idea.
Okay, I know it's not the most 'subtle' hair colour with the cloak being to blend in, but.. purple? like, a light purple. Think that one Roblox light purple hair bun, that colour!
In the defense of “The Pony Tail Gang” The reason they all have ponytails is because they are constantly in fights. Shoot, look at all of the long haired male characters in this show! They have to be ready for anything, so their hair shouldn’t be in their faces. Also, Pixal not changing her hair gets a pass for me since it is metal after all, and Nya’s hair is supposed to be the piece from the movie, which was a call back to Pixal’s hair. Haven’t finished your video yet, on season 9 right now!
I think I would’ve liked the sequel more if they used the dystopian theme to flesh out Lucy’s character. Have it so that the dystopian theme was the sister’s wish fulfillment. Maybe have Lucy feel like she doesn’t have her own identity aside from being Emmet’s girlfriend so she goes on her own personal journey to find herself. Finn is the one who keeps trying to use the kiddy blocks because he wants to go back to when they’d play together and his sister would let him lead. Have it so that when they were little Bianca was just along for the ride but as she grew and became more independent Finn started pushing her away if she didn’t play how he wanted.
Now that I think about it, I think I overlooked how poorly Misako was written into the story because she was the first female character to do Spinjitsu. I was too busy looking at the cool special effects that I didn’t realize she just WASN’T THERE FOR HER CHILD. I’m gonna say it, the movie portrayed their family dynamic better.
1:00 I know I'm pretty late here, but Tommy linking a video where you said something like "Overlord as the antagonist of the final season of the Wildbrain era makes no sense. It's bad writing" is the funniest thing ever.
I haven’t watched the video, but my opinion is that there were definitely some sexist undertones, but some of the time it was used as an obstacle for a character (mostly Nya) to surpass, but wasn’t always executed in the best way, but I wouldn’t say it’s misogynistic.
So I will admit, I was not a fan of the cloning angle with Webby. Webby was a experiment with Scrooge's DNA. The reason they were making Webby was to get Scrooge's inheritance from that piece of paper...but the fact was Webby probably was the only one who had both the DNA and family ties to Scrooge. (Aka Scrooge considers her as family) where the two other clones didnt. I THINk that is where they were going with that whole plot. Still I do agree that the finale wasn't my favorite. I do love Ducktales so much. I wanted Webby to have a more fantastical backstory myself because I love her character and she deserves it. But I do like that there was a lot of heavy emotions there with the fight with Beakley. I do wish somehow this got more time to be flushed out like the Dewey arc though. I really do wish too that they had used the FOWL angle better. For this the FOWL could be a serious threat and danger to their world but at most FOWL seemed like afterschool villians taken down one episode at a time. I do wish they had made things more difficult for the main cast and more plot twists added in... but I know again it was a rushed third season
