Welcome, my fellow actor. My name is Kurt Yue and I'm the founder of The Acting Career Center.
As a working actor in film and television with 50+ IMDb credits, my goal is to share everything I've learned to help you jump start your career.
Too many actors end up guessing what to do. Or they get their information from people who aren't really plugged into the industry.
Then they find themselves wasting a bunch of time and money when they could have been taking real action steps to move their careers forward. Let's make sure that doesn't happen to you.
Whether you're a complete beginner or have been at it for years but are feeling stuck, you probably want to improve your skills and expand your knowledge to take your career to the next level. I want to help you do just that.
Hi Kurt! What advice would you give me; I’m trying to start my acting career but I’m in DR 🇩🇴 so what I want is try in USA, but I’m not clear about how can I start being far. What can you suggest to me?
I want to become an actor because I’m not a tik tok content creator type of girl it’s just not for me. I want to prove to myself that there are other ways to make it without being a content creator
I decided too be an actor once I realized how it is in the series power all the emotion they give off the words everything comes together so beautiful and I feel as my stage fright and shyness will go away
I want to be an actor so as to inspire many African who think that they can't make it to Hollywood and to escape from reality and enter a whole new television world
I think we all dream of being on the "big screen" at some point in our lives. We watch some of those people and think, 'I could do better than that!' Well, prove it, right? Many creators are now starting out on RU-vid and once you start making videos it becomes addicting, especially when you receive positive feedback from the audience. My RU-vid channel was never designed to be an "acting" platform, but I actually enjoy being creative and entertaining audiences. So why not? I might find some local places that do auditions to see where it goes. You never know!
Hi Mr. Yue: Here is an odd situation for you. I am a starting actor and have a strong link to the acting field and Hollywood as Brad Pitt played my cousin who died in 1938 in Chicago in A River Runs Through It. Pitt revised the role in 1992. Tom Skerritt in reality was playing my great great grandfather's third cousin. My grandfather when back when and the charactor Tom Skerritt was playing (the Rev John Norman Maclean) knew each other as Skerritt's charactor lived on my grandfather's farms from 1889-1892 in the summer time and Brenda Blythen's character in reality is another relation to me (Clara Evelin Davidson) as my grandfather introduced them and we married the same family a few generations later. I always talk about this to directors and at auditions and even dine research and had a documentary made about my relationship to the real people from A River Runs Through It. Brad Pitt has in my mind been typed casted as my cousin Paul Maclean. My situation is kind of unusual I find it opens lots of doors since I can prove it all on my phone with pictures and history and our looks are very similar. I have also taken digital storyboarding, acting classes with Tom Logan and done background acting. I have a degree in history and business. I really enjoy your chanel as I learned lots of tricks of the trade along with Tom Logan. Just thought I share with you how Brad Pitt has a interesting relationship with our family by playing my cousin in A River Runs Through It. Sincerely, Andrew Kelly
I have had this dream of becoming an actress for some time and I always try to act like I am some other person when I’m in my room alone. My dream is to play in Murder Mystery 3 or any movie Jennifer Aniston plays in. I would like to try to come into a movie where she is also in but I don’t know how to start cause I’m not from USA. Does anyone have tips how I could audition for a movie as murder mystery on Netflix. Do I need an agent? And how/where do I audition for Netflix or any movie?
I couldn't really tell you I don't really have a reason it's more of a feeling an urge I've had for years and years since I was a child I have always been the outgoing one the class clown there's just been something about my personality that has drawn people to me and I get a feeling of great gratitude and happiness when I can bring laughter into somebody's life
Hello, I was thinking about signing up for this but I am mostly looking for Voice Over Acting. Would you recommend this website to someone looking to do VO work?
My inspiration to want to be an actress was inspired long time ago, when I was still a teenager. I was inspired by Jackie Chan, Michiko Nishiwaki, Xena: Warrior Princess, Cat Woman etc I want to be one of those strong and funny worrior style films characters.
I think I wanna put all my emotions and life experiences into the role I play. I wanna get lost into it later, or whatever career I choose. When I have nothing to worry about anymore , and nothing left to lose.
My acting goals 1:48- -To have people know me -To feel joy as I do this stuff -To make other people happy when they watch me on screen -To enjoy what I do -To get out of my comfort zone and fears
Why I want to be an actor 1:36- It seems fun! I wanna get out of my comfort zone and do things I’ve never done before. I’ve never been on a set or met any actors but just seeing them on screen or bts makes me happy and makes me want to do that stuff!
I want to be an actor because i realy like acting i do it with my little brother and if i do acting i can be friends with celebrities And i realy like Cobra Kai and editors make some good edits for example Xolo has some good edits and William to like i want to be just like them
1. I want to be an actor since the series and movies I saw. Tom Holland and Chris Pratt inspired me. 2. My acting goal is to be in a Christian series and also in MARVEL films. 2:20
I saw the Percy Jackson series recently and i really want to experience that type of fantasy. My goals are to be known and be like hey, that’s an actor. I really wanted to be in a movie all my life
I know this is old by four years but im watching now as i want to pursue acting. because as i think of it now, behind the scenes and making friends, enjoying the experience of acting and the funny bloopers is something that makes me really want to pursue this as a career. 1. ive always wanted to become an actress since i was little, seeing people express themselves as different characters and bring out so much in a movie or show inspired me. Many actors and actresses that i admired was you, emma watson, tom felton, tom holland, Zendaya, keanu reeves, marilyn monroe, johnny depp etc. just being able to be in a movie and work with all these actors/actresses ive watched and work with directors i respected would be amazing. 2. my goals are simple, id like to play in a star wars movie too, marvel or dc, action genre, or horror like scream etc. I wanna meet many people and make friends, step out of my shy and comfort zone, get rid of stage fright, and try something new that i have no experience for, i wanna die knowing im known and not forgotten and that my generations after will idolize many like me and others to be who they wanna be and not be afraid to achieve it. i have no experience as of now, no agent or anything of that matter but i wanted to watch this and learn more about pursuing acting and have this as a career
I want to be an actor because of the fact that I was involved in drama at an early age and fell in love with performance arts. To captivate an audience and have them escape from there regular lives through entertainment is something I take great pride in and wish to give people a thrill unlike what they usually see. My acting goal is to be an iconic film or franchise and possibly go onto win an Academy award. I wish to inspire others through my performance and become one of the greats. I don’t want to be another college dropout like my family. I wish to pursue my dreams and not give up until I get an opportunity. I want to spend the rest of my life traveling the world starting in different films and series and inspire people to follow there dreams.
Actors Access is a joke... More than half their projects are no pay and student films except for some current crap vertical movies that usually pay less than minimum wage. Nowadays, Actors Access is just a money grab supplying false hopes to a lot of untalented people who have been told by about a half a dozen people that they need to go to Hollywood!.... #Facts
