There are so few good horrorgames, sometimes you find one but it’s a 20 minute experience or something. Most of them are just so bad or not scary at all. Also I wish they made Phasmophobia way scarier.
On the money. I’m 45, played all the originals from 1-4 as they released. And I pre ordered the remake. Us OG fans want more, I wish they did them chronologically, but I’ll take what I can get.
Is this all you have to do be on RU-vid? It might be OR it could be made, rinse and repeat the same shit over and over, oh and beg for likes and subs at the beginning of the video. Waste of 30sec, at least I knew early on not to watch this crap.
Ahhh. There's a third group. The ones that will matter. The ones who spent over half a k on the PS5 and every game has been derivative poop. I'm hanging my controller on this one. It looks most excellent. But they bugger this classic up? Yeah I'm Done. This from a man who Loved Message, Su cide of Rachel Foster (My Lucifer! That audio if surround sound! Creepy Magic!) Edith Finch! That was story telling! And a socio emotional head trip like Dear Esther? This is Art!!! But let's hope and not listen to keyboard warriors with no depth. Fingers crossed we all end up asking questions and changing our well soiled undies my loves. 😈
I find it funny that you think that if the game was launched in Xbox would sell well? You re talking about the console, in which most of the players use gamepass and dont even buy
The fear and complaint are well deserved because you can say that the remake *can be* good or even great, but Silent Hill 2 was, is, and will always be on a level of its own. And, for that, really, they can't messed-up to make it BAD, but to elevate it, to *Remake* it? Nah, I doubt it because, as some have commented, DEI politics make it harder to fully flesh out the nuances that made SH2 a masterpiece. Take Angela, for example, she was a deeply traumatized character due to the predatory nature of her father (which made her have a very complex relationship towards men) and jealousy and hatred from her mother, which, as a coping mechanism, infantilized Angela (when James first meet her, which was shown in the Remake trailer, the VA is supposed to and was instructed, in the original, to talk like a little girl, which is not seen in the Remake trailer, removing an important nuance of the character) and made her hate body, symbolizing a duality of her beautiful appearance and conservative dressing and child-like "innocence" (even though they get right in the conservative clothes, her appearance is definitely not beautiful in the Remake, and she doesn't seem to talk like a child). In this sense, her beauty is a integral part of the character, a very depressing one at that, it's not "to show" or "to engage with the male audience", like the DEI suggests, her beauty is fundamental to the character because it was a reminder, a part of her purgatory, that all that she had suffered, all the abuse and worse, was because of her herself. Her mother, in jealousy of her appearance (and as a coping mechanism), refers to her as the Seductress, treating Angela, the victim, as the perpetrator of the abuse, which, with time, push her over the edge, making her end her family there and then. This trauma and incapacity of self-reflection, even though she was consumed by guilt, made her turn to the fantasy of still being a child, entraped in a body that she hated, and only caused "the look of the dirty pigs" as she refers as men. All of this is central to her story and development, and why she couldn't move on, why she always felt in hell. This type of nuance and, really, aggression, evilness even, doesn't sit well for a big TripleA game for modern audiences. The fact that Angela still feels like a child imprisoned in her own body because of the atrocities that were committed to her in such a vulnerable age is dark as fk, it's understandable why they toned it down in the Remake, but it's just too safe to be *The Silent Hill 2*. It *can be* good and even great still. That's how good the original was, but to be a masterpiece, nah, it won't be.
Only someone who never played the original game could complain about Angela's look. That woman was sexually abused by her own father and the last thing she needs is to look hot and wear slutty clothes. She's in great depression thats why she's fat because she probably eats a lot to forget about her trauma.
That’s what Konami hopping for when they first announced the slews of trailers of Silent Hill line up last year. I was so hyped but after it’s launched there were so many disappointments after disappointments. I guess time will tell. Hope they do not f-up this already a gem of a title on PS2.
