Hellblade is technically more of a horror game than modern Resident Evil. Its atmosphere, whispers, and psychosis put it easily in the genre. The first game was awesome, and I plan to get the second one in the first week if it turns out to be good.
Nah modern Resident Evil is 7 & Village, also 2 & 4 remastered. They're all more horror heavy than Senua's Sacrifice (which I loved btw) If you're referring to Resident Evil 5, and particularly 6, then yes.. but they're both 2 generations old.
@@shannonbayley3684 It depends on your definition of "horror-heavy". Many people wouldn't find fighting zombies or infected creatures to be more horror-based than stuff that deals with psychology. The reason Silent Hill is incredible on the horror side is because the core of the horror is the mental turmoil of the characters and their struggle with their inner demons. Hellblade tries to lean more on that side than Resident Evil does. Resident Evil 7 is definitely a step on the right direction when it comes to horror, but I still believe Resident Evil need to focus on making the characters struggle with more than just the physical obstacles and clear antagonists.
@@OliverAnderson266 I realise this. It's different strokes for different folks. Silent Hill is obviously psychological horror.. but with great creatures/monsters and horror atmosphere. Senua's Sacrifice is psychological, but barely a horror. Just because a game has psychological horror like Silent Hill 2, doesn't make it somehow better or smarter than say Resident Evil 4. It's different styles and tastes. Silent Hill and Resident Evil are some of my favourite games ever, but I'm not going to bash one or the other for their particular brand of horror. Hellblade is great, but it's not somehow better or more horrific because of its style and narrative, it's simply a different option.
I REALLY want that free steam copy of Hellblade 2. My ex best friend had schizophrenia, and like Senua would constantly see creepy apparitions who would haunt him and harass him almost everyday. He once had a video where a voice in the woods was calling his name which was impossible since he was all alone out there. I actually just released a song called "Schizophrenia", ironically. The original Hellblade created an innovative story-telling style while also allowing its audience to empathize with people suffering from psychosis, who are often misunderstood and feared. It wasn't just a game; it was a cinematic experience and one I will never forget.
@johnconnor5157 cause some people actually like giveaways ...lol read his post lol 😅 some people have jobs and bills to pay and try there luck on giveaways Another reason why is why waste 60 , 70 bucks on a triple A game title that again didn't live up to its hype :( another waste of a game , The trailer with the song was better than this lol don't get me wrong hellblade 2 had some amazing scenes but they went for a movie cinematic then an actual game and I wasted 6 + years of my life on a game that was 3 hrs shorter of the 1st one 🙄 That's why ...that 50, 60 , 70 , etc you get the picture could of gone to something more important ya know (Not trying to hate )
It's obvious that they're using the Elisa Lam reference in Bridge Curse. I'm really excited about that game. The first one was chill, scary, and fun at the same time. When it comes to big-budget games, I believe Hellblade 2 will probably end up being the best one in the entire year if the developers manage to get everything right story-wise. I have an Xbox Series S, but I think it would be best to have it on my PC for the ideal experience.
They all look great. The bridge curse 2 stands out to me. A sort of half and half mix of fatal frame meets amnesia. It actually reminds me a lot of the free expansion update to ghost wire Tokyo. The School they added... if you haven't tried I say hop on in when it's on sale. Chef's kiss to the anatomy dummy (still have to double take when walking down a dark hall at night lol)
@@KazzaGamesTV I agree. Some of the best recent horror games I have played are from indie devs. Visage comes to mind, as it was truly terrifying when I first played.
Did you SEE!!! One of my favorites that I NEVER thought would get remade or remastered is coming THIS YEAR. The Thing, the classic PS2/Xbox game was just announced coming in 2024 from Night Dive studios who seem to pretty quickly make a lot of good remasters balancing new and old and remaining very faithful to the original. I'm playing their System Shock Remake right now. It's awesome. Original was 1994. Game doesn't look brand new graphics, it looks way newer and better but chose to slit graphics a bit to keep an older feel. It's really good. Star Wars Dark Forces remake is available by them, I think original was 95 or 97. Haven't played yet. They have others. The Thing is maybe my 2nd or 3rd favorite movie everv(John Carpenters 1982 masterpiece). This game picked up after that with you leading a rescue team to look for characters from the movie. I do wish graphics were as good as possible, but they're the best I've seen from them, probably because the original is several years newer than the other 2 I listed. Can't wait, and I imagine you likem the movie and have played the game as well. Was literally about to play again on my OG Xbox and saw this today, the very next day I was talking about it. Was stunned and so excited to see this. My biggest hope is for better controls.
Ayooooo I didn't even know S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was getting a sequel! I even played a spooky mod way back then that made the environment red and foggy. Would absolutely love to win a copy of that from you.
i just finished the first Hellblade this week and found out about the sequel I am so excited. That game was so amazing, thought provoking, and just spectacular.
Can't wait Hellblade 2. The first one left lots of impressions and it was mind-bending. Interesting to see how Senua will be, she looks stronger. In case you have a spare key, (fingers crossed), happy to play it in day 1 :)💫
I wouldn't want it for myself but for my brother. He has been very excited about S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 ever since it was announced. He really loves the old parts and plays them again and again. So he would be very happy if he could play part 2 as soon as it comes out.
Just started playing Bridge Curse on ps5, the first 1 I guess. Hope it's good. Playing Dreadout 2 as well. There's a physical Dreadout collection coming soon apparently, I think may include a new one, don't remember. But look up The Thing remastered by Night Dive. Just announced for release this year.
Stalker will be on PS5 too. Not sure when, but Xbox only signed them for 3 months exclusivity and now they're just bringing most games to ps5 and even Switch as Phil Spencer said today in an interview alongside their game showcase. Most of us knew the majority of their games were coming already, but he confirmed it. We already knew Doom (new one in 2025) and likely Starfield and Indiana Jones were coming. And of course CoD.
Dead Island 2 is coming to Steam April 22nd, Still Wakes the Deep is coming June 18th, Full Fathom is projected for Q3. These are projected for this year but, no set release window: The Axis Unseen, Butcher's Creek by David Szymanski, While We Wait Here
I'm good for the time being personally. Got several horror titles already released still to play to keep me busy for months. Will be starting Alone In The Dark soon.
Liked cause of Senua, which is probably the greatest dark fantasy game I've played in a while. I write fantasy horror, I love the two categories and have thought about how they usually only do dark fantasy in a more action based system whereas Hellblade had action it relied heavily on its more psychological horror aspects which made the experience feel surreal and disturbing. Having the player characters narrative questioned by the player as Senua seemed at times an unreliable source of information was a great means to keep the player invested throughout the entire playthrough. I'm looking forward to the new game and have not watched anything as I am looking forward to get lost in the universe once again.
Hellblade is one of my favourite games with its mentally touching story, atmosphere and brutal combat. I played it once again after 4 years and I'm very curious where can this story continue. A revenge story? Interesting twist after Senua's agony from the first game. So I would be very happy if you gift me this Steam code. I hope I will have time for playing next to graduation learning:)
This is interesting and exciting line up. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Heart Chernobyl is definitely my number one pick. Beyond Hanwell. I did not even finished first one or the counsel.
They all look like horrific fun. Ive played more indies this year then mainstream. I heard Dead Space 2 was cancelled by EA which was a real bummer. Guess Its time to play the og DS2.
I'm super excited to get my hands on the next senua's saga game XD with the hope that they don't eff it up... another game I look forward to... well, I'm a bit back and forth on this... is zoochosis, the idea is very interesting but I fear the execution might not do so well though
As a Playstation5 user who loved the original Hellblade, i'm thoroughly dissappointed at the only way of getting to play hellblade 2 is to buy a whole new console as well. 😂🤬😡
I know how you feel. I want to play Stalker 2 if it ever releases. But I don’t wanna buy a new console for it. Especially seen as all the other exclusives I waited for turned out mediocre to bad anyway.
Legit sorry it sucks for you honestly, but as an xbox consoler (+pc) myself... you're still way luckier with exclusives. So, consider yourself a winner despite the miss i guess? 😐
Stalker is one of the greatest games ever made. No other game world every made you feel like it was alive and changing on it's own. The Zone is as much of a character in the story as was the island in the 'Lost' television series.
Hellblade is such a beautiful game. I feel like it's both a horror game and action, but also psychological in some ways. Ninja Theory did an amazing job on the story and depicting mental illness. I can't wait to play the 2nd one.
I found real gem on steam old time puzzles and a load of fun. Demo available and full game released Friday. On sale 90% off price 1.99 game is called “Inside”
I would honestly love a copy of STALKER 2. I have loved the STALKER series, and even picked up a copy of Roadside Picnic, and gotten myself digital copies of the two STALKER novels. There's just something so....interesting about the series, Eurojank as it may be at times, but just how....alive the world feels. That, and how it works well with its simulation aspects.
I would be so happy to get free Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl. I love games with amazing atmosphere, expecially when games take place in postapocaliptic world. Is it so fascinating to see people struggle for survival in virtual world, which is a video game. I remember games like resident evil and the last of us, which fits perfectly for postapocaliptic atmosphere. Stalker 2 reminds me of the video game I played and enjoyed very well, it's Metro Exodus, i would really like to see how Stalker 2 will work on 4k ultra graphics settings on my PC with good headphones. With Metro Exodus style, this game would probably be the game of the year ;) The atmosphere will be the best pro of the game.
i am so excited for the story and lore for hellblade as well HELLBLADE 1 and LIFE IS STRANGE only games to make me cry (dad in car accident) scene got me cause Stepdad IRL but hellblade the story was something special
i really want xbox to have some of the best horror exculisives to break the vecious circle of being bad to worst gaming console in terms of gaming library. Just wish that xbox 360 era papuarity comes back this year to xbox
On the off chance you decide to give me the Setstuna key. It's ok, id rather you gave it to someone else. Maybe someone from a country whete games are ridiculously expensive.
I love all these games, and it would mean a world for me to play them, to enjoy their worlds. But I have lost all my consoles, even my PC. So I can't play them. Give them to someone who can enjoy them.
l can not wait to play pine Harbor it look great it more like the kine of games l play lots off horrors game .. but it it come on ps 5 or pc only it look like a kine of a silent hill game
I'm looking forward to The Cecil, and in the Dark Fantasy Genre, if Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 actually comes out this year, then I'm SO looking forward to that. I know for some reason some people don't consider it horror, but the first game genuinely scared me and I can't believe that the second won't have those same elements
@@KazzaGamesTV but I think the biggest horror element is the oppressive sensation in face of something you can't really fight. I mean, you have to feel weak, powerless and hopeless in face of supernatural forces.
I want hellblade 2 because where I live (Yemen) a poor country with a war conflicts. I don’t have any kind of payment to buy it and I’m a fan of the first one where I got it for free from a friend
All of the games seems great, but my biggest hype definitely goes for Stalker 2. It's a game that I have to play, no matter what, not only for how much Stalker meant to me and to a lot of people, but also for how amazing it is that the team developed the game despite having a war happening at their country.
I am so absolutely PUMPED for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 - I remember playing the first game when I was way too young to appreciate its genius and stopping after about an hour. But then I played it again maybe 3 or 4 years ago and was like "what an absolute gem." Seeing that same atmosphere and depth of design but with modern visuals has me so excited.
@kazzagamesTV omg!!! when is the free copy giveaway and how do i apply lol i will literally call out work that night to play it and stream it to my minions (community name) all day !!! the reason i am interested in playing it is cause it hits too close to home my stepdad was my best friend ( at his funeral i was the one holding onto the casket instead of his brothers sisters, etc not only that but i lost my grandmother due to very very bad dementia and i wanna do a fundraiser to help spread awareness of psychosis
