Hey, all! My name is Jax, and I primarily post rain videos featuring some softer songs from video games alongside Final Fantasy XIV content. Hope you enjoy your time here, and I'll see you in the comments!
It is amazing how good this music is but, more than that, how good it fits the game, especially the part it represents. It first inspires calm, but a somehow tense one, with some intrigue, like the game itself at this part, where you have to investigate at a slow and careful pace a plot still covering seemingly minor ordinary stories. It also has a taste of nostalgia, like the one the character might feel looking back at a world of humans he used to know but he does not entirely belong to anymore. And there is even some very subtle touch of horror at times, deeper, to remind you about the mysterious and dark nature of the new reality of the vampires you are now. And with all that, there is also a little bit of despair, of rustiness, of decay, but with some grace, like the satirical but also kind perspective of our modern society and its most sordid aspects the game has.
Well just got back from my first day at a job in a field I’ve been wanting to get into forever, and I live on my own for the first time in my life now. So after getting fire hosed with information and making dinner alone I have just been chilling listening to this. It’s honestly great because I LOVE storms. There is no real moral of the story but I appreciate this video lol.
Thank you for sharing! And thank you for the lovely comment. Not all stories need a moral -- sometimes the joy of sharing them with another is enough. <3
when I played FFX, unfortunately I didn't know any English when I was a kid, but when I was at that stage of the game, this song, from the moment it started playing, I never felt an air of calm in my life, years passed and now knowing the language, I played the game again, and then I had the knowledge and what it was about, I couldn't believe it, but, over the years and some events that happened, I began to understand the music more, I was only 8 years old when I played it for the first time, now I'm 26, it makes me rethink my entire life and trajectory, but this song will never leave my head, it's simply unforgettable
City dead over thousand years…….the city have to see with my own eyes. The end yuna journey, the last chapter of my story -tidus When I watch tidus see his home became not only so called “holy land” but as a wasteland ruins. 1000 years he lost his fans, mother people he care or cheer for him all gone killed by Great War. Thus sin was born
I've been playing FFXIV since 1.0 in middle school. I'm about to turn 26 soon. This game has been a constant companion to me in my life through ups and downs. This song encompasses so much of what I love about this game. Elpis is nostalgic yet has me wondering and hopeful about the future.
Feels like you're reflecting back on what you have lost on top of the gains you've made in life. Never forget the sacrifices made or the loved ones lost on your journey. Remember...
Loss. That is how this makes you feel. Nothing you can do besides feel it. Forbidden machina, the faiths, Yu Yevon, Aeons, Grand Maesters deceiving, Sin reincarnation. Spira is just our world Fantasy twisted.
I do! And I will add it to my list. Sitting down to put some together right now, so your request should be pretty high on the list once I get this next batch done. :)
This video is my go-to "drown out the ADHD brain clamourings so I can get work done" video, and I am so grateful that it exists. Thank you so much for creating it <3
This game helped me when i was living in a lonely city on my own for the first time. Felt so real when it was the only thing to come home to in a really overwhelming part of my life. Love to all those who enjoyed staying in this place as well.
Agreed. There is no monetization on my channel (and there never will be), but RU-vid still throws ads wherever it wants to make money. I'm sorry that this track has been hit with them. :(
Ooooh! That's a very low-key fantastic track! I will add it to my list! Hoping to get a handful put together over the next couple weeks -- we'll see if I get to that one, too!
Ul'Dah... It's where I started as a Pugilist with another friend who's a Gladiator. Even though it's only been a month or two, there's something about walking through the streets at night while this plays that's just, so peaceful. I love it. Ul'Dah is, and always will be, home.
SCREAMING!! I'm so happy!!!! Can't wait to listen to this ALL night tonight without being woken up once the music ends. Thank you SO much for this video ❤❤❤
Going through ShB on an alt and I reached a cutscene where you stand on the watch tower and the Exarch comes along and at the time i entered the cutscene it was night time and raining so when it cut to us looking towards the tower this music was playing with the rain noise and it felt so surreal.
Yeah, that's definitely one of my older ones. I agree that the rain is louder and, honestly, not a great rain sound in general compared to my recent ones. I'm slowly looking back through some of my most popular older videos and redoing them, so I may eventually make my way back to this one! Thanks for the colorful feedback!
