Bloody Horrible, that is not a Sportster, more like something from the Street family. If HD are struggling to get people to ride them, just imagine its re-sale value👎👎
What if H-D borrowed Triumph's "modern classic" concept and made a retro-styled Rev Max engine, in various capacities, and put it in bikes that borrowed from the 1950s/60s K/KH/XL Sportsters? (I'll have one that looks like a KRM or an XLR, please 🙂) After all, the original Sportster was a response to the lighter, faster, better-handling British bikes of the postwar period.
Looks like you havw a lot of support on your view . Not me . I have owned 2 Sportsters in the past . I currently own a 2019 Softail Slim , 23.5 CVO Roadglide . I Enjoy riding my 23 Nightster Special more than any other Harley Davidson that l have ever owned or ridden . My Nightster special is yellow like you were riding. Two mistakes l made with it was fitting forward controls because l has made the rear brake useless. Fitting Mini apes made. It look better but make steering too light and harder to control . My only disappointment with the bike is the sound .
That driver waiting at the junction at 4:04 made me nervous for you. So far forward he left you no room to gauge whether he was going to come out in front of you or not.
Honest review? Sporsters are good for in state riding i cant imagine riding my xl1200 c acroos country unless on the run😅 but i do understand a bagger does drive like Cadillac witch compared to my bike crabby front tire . the bike ur on a nightster not a sportster cuz u only wana ride at night not to be seen sounds like a 500cc lol
Welcome back buddy, a long time ago I watched all your video's then you disappeared so I went and bought my 1st Harley a year ago to see what all the love was about and absolutely love it!!! Great your back 🤟
Your speaking my thoughts exactly, the motor and handling r so good!!! But the price and the cheap looking plastics, ruin what could truly be a special bike. Dynamically its really good and fun, but styling is a huge part of a motorcycle, especially one priced as high as these are. If they were priced way under $10k US then it might make more sense.
glad you looked after your career and family ;; but it's nice to see you back ,,, the nightster is better looking than the sportster s so 1/ out of 10 sporster s = 0 out of ten ;hardly anyone wants this trash , - so call it a day and stop trying to sell horrid items for 15 grand ;;; harley d ;;
For all the positives of the new (not) Sportster, all the negatives are just glaring. Which is odd, since the Buell Super Cruiser suffers from them also. Yet, I like that bike. Thanks for the upload and keep them coming.
I've always said that our tiny roads on this tiny island aren't suitable for Harleys and Indians. Now that our roads now resemble Port Stanley Airfield in 1982, nothing less than an Adventure bike will do.
That is the ugliest POS on earth. It doesn't look like a Sportster, it doesn't sound like a Sportster, it doesn't feel like a Sportster, it's NOT a Sportster. H-D sold the REAL Sportster to the CHINESE!!!!!!!
Totally agree design wise, oddly just misses the mark, same way the Indians do. Seems they have to fill 'every' gap with plastic... close but no cigar.
Well this came out a few years before Indian dropped the new Scout. If they were priced similar, I'd be all over the Scout for sure. I think the most difficult thing for this bike is it really depends on the market. I got the same model from this video with 100km on it (dealer used for a couple rides as example bike) for $11,000 USD (in Japan), they have since dropped the price for brand new ones to $13k, while the new 101 costs $19k here. Even the Scout Bobber is $16.5. For people saying it's not a Sportster, I would argue the Sportster hasn't been a Sportster (a racing bike from its heritage) since before most of us could ride. I'm almost 40 and this bike is the most fun I've had on a Harley for a while. I also enjoy that they decided to break convention and leave the diehard fans with the M8 if they like, but try to attract new fans also (like me). I just wish the tech wasn't half baked. Too many people have problems with the computers on this bike and that sours the feeling for what otherwise is an amazing machine.
Here in Thailand the new Nightster 975 cost just a bit more than a Rebel 1100 and cheaper than a Triumph Bobber. After a Dynojet tuned the 975 makes around 105 hp at the wheel and reach the top speed of 270 km/h on a dyno. It is lighter and faster than both a Rebel 1100 and a Bobber. It will go faster than most m8. So overall is is a very good buy over here. Unfortunately they priced it wrong over there.
Great review by a fellow sportster fanboy 😊 all the reasons I didn’t buy one. I did go for the Pan America and agree the engine is fantastic but looks ugly, triumph make a water cooled engine look beautiful why can’t HD do the EVO but water cooled, oh they could look at the new M8 liquid cooled
You will get use to the new look and customizing is somthing we did even on the old models so no diff it will take time but people will adjust and then the mods will start to show how good they can look well thats what I think anyway. Thanks for the VLOG good job
Too expensive, too ugly, too much plastics, too short rear suspension. Oh and did i say too expensive.. Rather buy an old real Sportster and a Royal Enfield Classic 650 next year and still have change in pocket.
I'd 100 percent buy a Royal Enfield Super Meteor over a sportster. Half the price, keeps a classic look, it's a no brainer for me. I'm a laid back rider, so the lower displacement engine isn't a deterrent for me either
@@tomoates8568 Same here. Power is not the most important for me. Im thinking about buying the new Classic 650 when its out and put a side car on it and tour Europe with my girlfriend and the dog old school way😅
Ironic that among the first videos motivating me to buy a Forty Eight was your review under the rain. Four years and 35,000 kilometres later, I am still in love and I don’t think it will change
Does nothing for me at all. If I had that kind of money to buy one I would buy a used 48 and lavish the extra, saved money on it. Good review as always Sir. Thanks
Modern Harleys just don’t sound like the old Harleys. More like metric cruisers. They also require constant tinkering, sometimes expensive tinkering. I’d rather ride than wrench.
So happy to see you back!!!! I've always enjoyed your enthusiasm and interpretation of how a bike feels. One of my all time favorite reviews you did was of a 48 back in 2019. It helped my make a purchase decision on my 2019 48. Safe travels to you.
