I have 4 pylontech us3000 connected to a Victron inverter. The master battery is connected to the inverter with the positive and negative cable. So There us no connection between the bottom battery and the inverter. Is this ok? System has been working for 2 years now without problems. Off grid system.
Buonasera ho acceso il mio impianto e le batterie rimangono in stand by. Pulsa solo il led Run su entrambe le batterie. Dall'app StorageMate si legge un errore di comunicazione con le batterie. Mi potete aiutare?
Hello🥲 i have a problem with the same kind of batteries, i do as the guide says and after i turn the bateries on, the master battery turns on the red led of "ALM" and it doesn't get solves... Any idea of how to fix? Im new around, thanks in advance
Good afternoon, l have two pylontech us3000 and 5000. The investor is saying PB on screen but they are not charging. What could be the problem please as the electrician seems to suggest that they might have been drained so we need to press the restart button of which we can not find one other than the power. If this advice is ok, do we turn them off with the investor on or switched off please. It is an off grid system. Thank you very much for your assistance
I think you mean the cables. Cables should be available from most solar / PV stores. You’ll need + and - leads . Most battery leads are generic so the end should fit your batteries with the otter side connected to your inverter
Ive just added a us5000 to my system, 3 x us2000 1 x us3000c, i have a lux hybrid inverter which needed a modified can connector when I installed the us3000c as the master, but now im having the us5000 as the master, ive had to make another different one, is this common among different brand inverters?
Just thought it was odd, I had to modify the cable for the different model batteries from the same manufacturer, yet there is very little if any info on this, very strange
Very little info and not all manufacturers share a set standard. Its a shame really but its the way things are. Please subscibe to this channel. @@WalkabletunaVEVO
Unfortunately having an issue with my lux inverter, the DC side seems to have gone kaput, batteries aren't charging/discharging and no solar production is happening, my installer is looking into it but just keep going round in circles 😢
Help I have acquired 3 Sonnen brand batteries that are Pylontech batteries. They come on for 10 minutes then shut off. I have hooked to them using RS232, I type “help” to get all the commands for getting info and a little control of the battery. What command I need is how to turn the batteries on permanently. Can you help?
Sorry we only connect using CAN bus. We do not use RS232 , so really cannot tell you how to achieve the batteries permanent ON status but I am sure you have misconnected the batteries somewhere. Best to contact your inverter supplier or where you got the batteries from!
@@pylontechsolarbatterystora3979 I am studying CAN bus right now. I know every communication protocol except that one. Seems like I will need a piece of hardware for my computer or Raspberry Pi, whichever I decide to communicate with the batteries. At least I now know to stop looking on the RS232 port, it provides useful information but does no control. Thanks for the reply.
Hi. We have a problem with US 5000 single battery. It is showing 100% SOC and has been like this for 72 hours. It will not discharge and therefore we are using grid power rather than stored power in the evening. We have clear skies and pv working during the day and is exporting rather than charging the battery. What would you suggest?
I just added a 3rd us3000c battery in my stack, all 3 are the same model. However, when balancing them, 2 seem to get balanced and go on standby while the third keeps all lights turned on. No blinking. I waited for approx 3 hours already and it remained like that. Would you know what could be causing it or if can just go ahead and plug everything in to the inverter?
I currently have a single stack of seven 2000's which the installer set up. In studying the PylonTech installation manual, it says not to stack them directly one upon another and even when using their super-expensive brackets, it says a maximum of four! Have you ever heard if or experienced. any problem with stacking?
Stacking upto 4 on top of each other is fine. Even when using brackets the benefits are negligible. In a us2000c manual , it says 4 can be stacked on top of each other. But if you are uncomfortable then you can vertically stack them making sure they are secured at the top and bottom.
Hi and many thanks for the video - I have a stack of seven 2000's to which I need to add a 5000. I understand that the 5000 has to become the new master - the question is, how is the new stack balanced when there is a mixture? I was told that I had to first fully charge my stack of seven 2000's and then separately charge my 5000 before adding the 5000 to the stack. This sounds awfully laborious and long winded so is there a neater, simpler way please?
No all you need to do is connect the us5000 set it as a master. Turn the battery’s on, sync them . Then let them balance naturally. Don’t turn your inverter on at this stage. After a couple of hours the bms in the master battery will store the charge state of the other batteries. At this stage turn on the inverter and use as normally. Eventually when there is no sun or extra charge the batteries will reach there minimum SOC and then they will be balanced . No need to charge them up individually, so backwards!
Where are you located , I have a problem with a Pylontech US200 PLUS. One shows all leds light wherass the other one there's no lights on any suggestion , they were fitted 2018
Hi. I have micro inverters. so all AC NOT DC. The PV CT clamp should go around the live, 240V, of the panel inverters with the arrow pointing towards the panels? so awa from the Consumer unit? thanks
CT clamps . One goes on the AC meter side , AC coming in on the Live wire to monitor Load in house , the other CT clamp goes on Live of PV in, so you can monitor the power generated by the solar panels. Ok. Thanks for subscribing.
Correct up towards meter when wiring coming from main supply, point away from meter if being installed on wire between meter and fuse distribution board
Your videos are excellent amd really worth watching i am connecting 9 pylontech batteries to 3 8kw inverters which in turn will run a 3phase installation do the batteries have to have there dip switches changed thanks
Thanks for subscribing. Glad the videos are helping people. As to your question , no you only need to set DiP switches if your inverter is connected via RS485 protocol. If it’s not then it will be connected via CAN so no dip switch setting required
Been fitting my new US5000 today and was wondering as the short leads are a bit too short, whether you can go straight across rather than diagonal as you have the 2nd and 3rd orange leads. I assume it makes no difference. When I got it all wired up I had one of the original batteries flashing the red light. So disconnected the new battery and put everything back to original and still not working, said no AC input and I found the plug labeled GRID was not properly screwed into the Control box. The retaining ring has a bayonet fitting and could never have been properly fitted by the installers and lifting a 40kg battery, must have shaken the fitting loose.
Just getting ready to go up in the loft after lifting a US5000 into there and checking that I'm up to speed with the connection. Found your video so reassuring to watch. Will see about posting a video of the lift by two OBE's
Very interesting video, thank you, I would like to ask a question; if the solar panels fail to charge the batteries, could they be charged with a charger connected to a generator set ??and how??
Hi, many thanks for your videos, due to a fault with my Solis inverter my Pylontec US5000 battery has discharged and gone into protection mode with the flashing red light, I have since bought another US500 which is working fine and fixed the inverter as I understand I cannot use the good battery to charge the discharged one as they will not be equal in voltage. Pylontec help centre has suggested I use a battery charger at 53v 2a to bring the discharged battery back up to the voltage of the good battery. As the inverter will only work via the power of the battery and not directly from the grid I am stuck as to what to do. Could you suggest any other way round this as I cannot find advice on this anywhere. Many thanks for your help
If you can’t externally charge the us5000 as pylontech suggest . Then the only option is to get it replaced by pylontech. The battery may be faulty as normally the inverter can’t just cause the red light. Also when you connect us5000 batteries together , the master will attempt to charge the other battery. If the us5000 still won’t come out of red light mode then it could be just a faulty battery .
Hi many thanks for getting back, we went away for a couple of days and the inverter didn’t put charge into the battery on the overnight cheap rate and as the inverter receives power from the battery only, it took the battery below 5% thus going into protection mode. I have today found an adjustable voltage DC charger that can be set at 53.2v 2a so I will give it a try. Once again thank you for your time.
It was pleasure helping you. It’s what this channel is all about. Thanks for subscribing, it’s important people subscribe as then I can help people further.
From 7 battery’s at each battery 100 amp , continues amperage is 700 amp DC….if each meets its 90% load capacity . The inverter will throttle thus down to meet its own AC output specification
Hi I have a ME3000SP. ac inverter with 4 2000c batteries ,I would like to add more but not sure if I can as I thought 9.6 was the max. any advise would be appreciated.
Thankyou for this very informative video. I have the same us3000c batteries. Two but bought a third. Connected them up in the same way but left the inverter Power +/- cables and rs485 (for some reason installers used rs485 rather than CAN) disconnected. The two current batteries where at 100%. I then pressed the SW switch on the master in order to balance. Lights all flashed in same way but left over night. In the morning all the LED ights where out except the RUN LED light was flashing alternatiing between each battery. Does this mean the balacing performed correctly? Wan't sure if all the SOC lights should then be all lit the same level. I then turned the batteries off, reconnected the power cables from the inverter + to master, - to Last slave and the rs485. Turned the Isolator switch on but then the inverter asks if I want to add a battery. So is it just a question of re-entering the settings?
But as your system is RS485 and not CAN you may need to put a new address using the dip switches on the new battery itself. Also make sure each battery has a different address setting on the DIP switches
Ok i am lost, you said the voltage is coming FROM the meter.. then the sound cut out a bit. So the CT clamp arrow goes with the direction of flow of electricity from the meter.....or against it? ( it is for a zappi) Cheers
Awesome vid mate exactly what I need ... Question...I have 3 x 2000 batteries at present and am going to add another 3000 is it neccessary for the 3000 to be the master?.... also my 3 have been stacked ontop of one another at install same question,... is it neccessary for the 3000 to be at the bottom? as it is the heaviest at 32kg?
Hi we have a zappy charger with ct clamp and also solar ct clamp should they both be on the same meter tail coming from the meter tail load side ? Thanks
After adding 2 new US3000c batteries to me my existing 3, do I need to change any settings on the inverter to ensure I am charging to the max 17.75kw capacity?
Thanks for this. Do you know if you can mix different capacity pylontech batteries? I currently have 2 x USC2000 batteries and want to add an additional 2 x US5000 to the system to triple my storage capacity from my Solar Edge inverter!
Hi yes you can mix them. The BMS of the master battery which you’ll need to set to one of the new us5000 batteries. So the master battery must be a us5000 in this setup.
thanks for the video, i have a question I have 2 us 3000 in parallel linked up to my solar inverter, I am about to add a wind turbine with a separate charge controller to my system but cant figure out how to connect both the solar and wind cables to the battery as there is only one connector for positive and negative, any suggestions? thanks
in my system I have batteries connected via victron distributor to my inverter. You could connect your wind charge controller there. ie midnite classic, but you need to play around with charge settings so that midnite is always slave to solar.
Thanks, i have now earthed the batteries. The DoD is set to 80%, can this only be changed by updating the firmware? Mine is version 2.50. Would you be able to do a walkthrough video showing how to upgrade the firmware or is this too risky?
