im amazed (but glad for you!!) that youve never had it late for No Fucking Reason(TM). things that can delay your period include: change in diet/nutrition, a LACK of nutrition, change in sleep, heightened stress levels, change in physical activity levels etc. these things can also change the intensity of period symptoms.
