Thanks Benjamin, it's beautiful, even the first and last days which some people criticise. I just finished the Rob Roy Way in Scotland, another belter! Subbed 👍
@@JustinWhiting9 thanks mate. I’ll check those out. It’s been ages since I’ve made something I’m happy with. Think it’ll be awhile till I get out out anything even remotely long for awhile.
Making videos is hard work, and can detract from your enjoyment, and even take over and spoil it sometimes. I recently did a few hikes in the Lakes without filming and just relaxed more. You do whatever you feel like doing. It's all good. Have a good weekend mate. Justin.
I had hoped to do something more inline with my other videos and I’ve got some more footage but nothing to really make anything I’d be happy with. Some of my audio I captured isn’t very good either because I left my mic on the wrong settings. Will definitely want to make something more substantial on my next hike. Thanks for watching dude.
With it being Scotland I was hiking in and the conditions never being certain i had my gear split over 2 liners. One for my sleeping stuff then the tent and the other on the top half with my food and electronics. Would of definitely been more efficient without a liner and carrying my tarp but wanted the x-mid bug protection. It’s a great pack. But I can see it definitely not being suitable for everyone, but i think that’s kind of the Idea of it isn’t it.
@@BenjaminWilcock How do you pack the lower part that you will pack out when camping? Just rolling the liner up or do you try to twist the line so it shows up? Did watter collect and went through the bottom opening?
Greetings from the Pyrenees mountain range, in Spain. I would like to do cumbria way this May, could you tell me the nearest airport and the best way to get to the beginning of the route by public transport? I can't find much information about this. Thank you
Hi, personally I think your best bet would be flying to Manchester airport. From there arrange a train to the start of the trail in Ulverston. You’ll finish in Carlisle and arrange a train back to Manchester. I think this would be the easiest way. Hope it helps.
@@BenjaminWilcock Thanks for the quick response! I've been bouncing all around the internet trying to figure out the sizing. I'm 5'7" and typically use a small custom SWD Long Haul 35 but want a smaller pack for doing the Haute Route next summer. A custom Ultra 30 should work perfectly and still arrive stateside in plenty of time.
Atom Packs have a good video on their youtube for measuring your torso. Im 18” so fall into the medium category. I think osprey have a cool app for measuring your torso too by uploading a photograph. Happy trails, hope you get a pack sorted.
@@BenjaminWilcock Thanks. I just ordered a small Ultra Atom 30 with blaze orange sides/center panel, teal tabs, orange elastic, and wolf gray pockets. I should be easy to spot bouncing around the Alps!
Hi Ben. Love your channel mate. Really hope you produce some more videos soon. What music did you use in this video? It works so well with the footage.
@@BenjaminWilcock I’ll keep an eye out for new content. Just ordered a Custom Atom pack EP35 after watching your review 👍 If you ever fancy hitting the Hadrians Wall trail, Giz a shout mate 🫵
Great. Vid, super editing . I am inspired to do the woods way. Is it difficult for a complete novice? Just bought a tent but not sure if I can wild camp . On a scale of 1-10 how difficult would it be to do in 3 days?
Hi, thanks so much for the kind words. I’d just say the 3 day thing just depends on your fitness level and how well your feet can handle the miles. But yes it’s very doable. I’d say difficulty is 5 but then am comparing kit to other things I’ve done since. I’d just highly recommend giving it a go. Can’t be being out there. As for wild camping there’s plenty of places. Just pitch late and leave early and leave no trace.
@@outdooradventure4590 yeah man, i think the big break everyone was forced to take has made it really difficult to get that momentum back. I personally don’t really want to make the gear / review type videos anymore so my only thing was needing to be getting back out on trails. It kinda feels like starting back over.
Hi mate, just been struggling to get back into it. I think everyone kinda has a little bit. Hopefully get back into the swing of things soon. Cheers for checking it out
Hi Mr WW, very nice and I have the Canon R6 my first propper camera and it hasn't been easy learning how to use it but Im getting there. I see in a comment you replied that its difficult taking good selfies, welk Ive found this difficult too. Mine links to an app on your phone that helps but a bit of a faff. I see your on thr CTC, are you doing the whole route ? Enjoy your mew camera . 👍🍺
Hello Dave, thanks for watching my video. I’m really enjoying the camera. The R6 seems a brilliant camera too. I actually came to Sony from the apsc canon M50. Yes its difficult getting a selfie. I set a timer get in shot and something it just focuses on something else. It is a faff syncing to the phone app all the time. I think manually focusing to the spot you’re going to stand might be the option or using spot focus. I’m actually off the C2C atm. Had a really bad experience with getting caught in the weather and a bit of a dangerous situation. Going to it again though. I hope you have fun playing with your new camera. Am side the more we tinker the more it’ll become second nature ✌️ Ben.
Thanks mate, I absolutely love it. Just need more and more hands on with it. There’s a few bits where I missed my focus I wanted I haven’t used. It’s hard to take pics of yourself too without pairing to shot to lock focus. Cheers for checking it out mate
Awesome work! Never knew about this trail but have to give it a go sometime. Also loved your Cumbria Way video, heading there next week... Keep up the great work! 👍🏻
Ah thanks so much for watching! Oh cool! Seems a lot of people are doing the Cumbria Way now. Such a nice route! You definitely have to do the Cleveland way, so much variety. And passes through my home town ✌️ Ben.
Loved this dude, Great footage and edit@ quite fitting actually as I'm planning to do the Cumbria way this month, and as matter of fact I actually ordered an atom+ last week 😄, and I'm in Lincoln, not far away! Small world! Subbed! 🤘🏻
Ah cheers for the sun dude much appreciated! I’m also subbed to you, will you be filming the Cumbria way? Be excited to see your take. Ah that’s awesome on the Atom, you’ll love it. Nice yeah am only in Hull. Was nice seeing your footage too as I’ve just switched to Sony and picked up the 20mm 1.8 G. Happy hiking mate 👍
@@BenjaminWilcock I will be yes, I'm looking forward to it! Oh really haha, even smaller world! 😄 the 20 is a great lens! Take care dude, going to watch some more now 😉
